If it's only for a year, it'll do fine. HD graphics, dedicated servers, online play and theater will keep it fresh enough until Halo 5.

Without its original multiplayer, CEA was more of an extension of Reach, clouding the comparison a bit.

Yeah I'm hopin it's Naomi. If it's Palmer or Cortana in a human body that would be a massive disappointment. Cortana should not be brought back as a human/robot. And Palmer is shaping up to become 343i's lightning, nobody likes her yet the dev keeps forcing her into us.

This is the reason why i chose xbox one, halo is the one franchise i always enjoy playing, unlike others i actually loved halo 4 more then the older ones (halo 1 will always take the crown due to nostalgia)

Impossible, no. But I think a lot of people on GAF think the industry cares a lot about the NPD thread on this forum each month. They don't. The people who truly care about those threads, and really take the results to heart, are a niche of this forum.

I think a lot of casual people and not the hardcore like us see the headlines on major gaming outlets about the poor sales of Xbox One. And putting something like Halo 5 on the top of pages makes it all go away.

I'm not going to say either way why this was done because even if it WAS it's fucking smart and they deserve kudos.

Besides Driveclub (Horizon 2 is also rumored to come out this year) what else do you think Sony will release at this fall? is the The Order confirmed for a 2014? we still don't know much about the fall line-ups besides the confirmed Driveclub & Sunset Overdrive so it's a bit early to declare winners and losers. We should wait till E3 to know more don't you think?

BTW I am really excited for Halo 5 and I'm happy that they are not rushing the game, 343i should take their time and deliver the best game they could. Also the boxart looks really cool, hopefully we'll see an in-engine trailer at E3 to check out what this new engine looks like.

Let's hope we see some gameplay. Part of me also wishes for another exotic resolution but we more or less know it'll be 720p-800p.

Isn't a kinda big move to put the Chief as the upside-down character on the cover? He's Microsoft's Mario, he's always been the front figure even on the Halo 2 cover were we played as the Arbiter for half the game. (Granted Bungie tried to hide that fact, but still)

I don't think they really need a big first party exclusive this holiday. The Destiny marketing deal they have and a few mid-tier exclusives should be fine. Same goes for Microsoft imo. They both have a handful of new IPs coming out, a remake of a big exclusive and a third party game that will move a lot of consoles.

First Halo game i am not excited for.
4´s campaign sucked imo, small, linear and the story was just meh. Actually fuck the story but they just did not get "Halo leveldesign" at all.
Locking Spartan Ops, (or what it was called) which was the closest thing to Firefight, behind a pay wall prevented me from playing something that i would call part of the sp experience.
Good thing that people believe in CBOAT again though.

If they want it to run at a stable 60fps and have top-tier graphics, the resolution will probably be something like 368p.

I'm pretty sure Halo 4 ran at native 720p + 30FPS locked and looked pretty damn incredible.

I wouldn't doubt 343i here.
