Marvel Heroes 2015 version is here. This means a completely revamped site and game.The OP deals with what went from launch till now, but this is what we expect in the coming days, as people have been posting about already =)

ANNIVERSARY EVENT

During the One Year Anniversary of Marvel Heroes and the launch of our new “2015” season, we’ll be thanking players with a gift (or a series of 365 gifts.)

To receive the gift, you only have to talk to a very special S.H.I.E.L.D. agent in Avengers Tower with any level 30+ hero. He’ll be giving out gifts until next week’s patch (6/12 estimate.)

The gifts include everything from an assortment of various special-events items from the past year, a stack of retcon potions, several unique items, a fresh new S.T.A.S.H. tab and the highly-anticipated Punisher “Omega Effect” costume.

OMEGA SYSTEM

The S.H.I.E.L.D. Omega System is a Hero Augmentation system for Marvel Heroes, allowing heroes to earn “Omega Points” via a shared account-wide experience pool. Omega Points can be spent on various advancements in S.H.I.E.L.D. research, organized by various S.H.I.E.L.D. research divisions: Nanotechnology, Human Augmentation, Psionics, Special Weaponry, Arcane Attunement, Radioactive Origins, and Molecular Adjustment.

The game seems really cool, but it locks up and crashes every time I exit an area. Wish they would put this on the PS4.

I gave this a go when it came out and it was utter dogshit.

But now I'm taking a break from PoE and D3 so I might give this another spin. I'll be damned to pay for any heroes unless I fall in love with the game.

Are the starter heroes gimped compared to the ones you can purchase? I doubt everything is perfectly balanced with so many heroes to choose from.

I notice Scarlet Witch isn't a starter hero anymore, and she was the one I played back when the game came out. Still worth playing her or should I make a new account?

It is a surprisingly well balanced game. There is no press A to win hero though there are some weaker ones that need adjusting, but those are mostly the ones awaiting for their 52 rework (which comes once a month usually).

There is a bit of everything to choose from the starters. They are in no way gimped compared to the rest. Hell, Storm is an AOE monster. Its a very good and varied pool of characters.

For what it's worth she's my main and still my favorite.

To those asking if the starters are gimped or weak... Not really. There is a ton of fun there to be had. About the most negative thing you can say is that they aren't the a-list in terms if comic popularity. But if you are fine with just playing the character and having a ton of fun with the game without getting hung up on not playing spider-man or wolverine specifically, yeah the starters are tons of fun. :)

so I logged in and grabbed everything.. not enough time to reallocate any points or such though.

was very happy that my free hero was black widow as she is on the ever shrinking list of heroes I don't have. already started looking for a costume for her. looking at probably thunderbolts and/or movie costume.

Did the BOGO deal end already? A friend bought Nightcrawler tonight (using Gs), but said he didn't get any random hero box with the purchase.

Oh well. He had a lot of left over Gs from his starter pack purchase and he is loving NC. So, he didn't really lose out on much.

How easy is it to get retcons? If they aren't particularly hard to come by, then I'll experiment more with my builds as I level up characters and try out their new (or in the case of my old characters, reworked) powers. Otherwise, I'll have to stick to using "Grants ___" equips for this purpose.

You get one in story mode for defeating Bullseye. You can do do story mode once on each difficulty (Normal, Heroic, and Superheroic) per character. Which means you can get at least 3 guaranteed, per character. They can also drop randomly elsewhere, but those are rarer (granted, less rare when you have an event like this going on which boosts item find).

Retcons used to drop pretty often, so much so that I found myself throwing them away to save space. But the drop rate got nerfed quite a bit over the last couple of months. You probably have a better chance of getting one from a Mark 1 FC that you can buy with cube shards than from drops, unless there are some server side SIF boosts.

Yeah, my drivers were up to date. I ended up finding a work around for the problem on the MH forums (had to do with RAM allocation), and now the game runs perfect! Ended up buying Cyclops and his Phoenix Force costume because fuck it Cyke should look badass. Having a blast so far from what little I've played.

My username is takuGuy if I could get an invite to the gaf group.

There is a mission in the campaign that drops them regularly. Chapter 4 upper east side, the Detective on the roof will give you one after defeating bullseye.

got tired of waiting for the osx beta so i ran it on my w7 partition

captain america feels great to play, even at a low level. graphics are clean and bright, though the game doesn't run all that well.

got invisible woman in my random hero box, guess i have to get black panther and her future foundation alt now 8)

Decided to give this a whirl finally. Seems fun so far, picked Rocket Racoon and got to level 7 or so. Got a weapon early on that gave me ranks in Tactical Destruction and that's my mainstay so far, along with the basic turrets and Groot.

to 20 should be about 3-6 played hours. at 20 you can do legendary quests and terminals which will speed it up considerably. all in all should be less than 10 hours to get 30.

I am finally checking out Doctor Strange (I bought the advance pack). Way behind. So far he's... umm... really friggin cool. Out of all of the releases this year from the advance pack, which do you guys think is the best? I haven't really tried any of them. just Scarlet Witch(doctor) and Deadpool to 60 and Ghost Rider to 31. I have 19 characters right now though.

Is there any list of which characters have already had their reviews vs ones yet to be reviewed? I'd prefer to use someone who has already been fully tweaked (at least for the time being) vs someone due for changes.

Rocket is a lot of fun. Let me give you at tip...once you can get Big Flarkin Gun, you max it. Make sure you have some sort of artifact that gives you back spirit and you'll be unstoppable. Groot remains great too.

Haha I just notice "Big Flarkin Gun" initials are BFG. That's a funny coincidence lol, there used to be a gun in Doom called that

Went 1-30 yesterday in 1 hour of actual play time. Of course I have 100% xp from heroes and used a 1hour 100% xp item so...

Dr. Strange is the best.

Wow, not sure how I missed the random hero giveaways yesterday, and I even have Massively in my RSS feed. Anyone happen to have an extra still? Tried the ones earlier in the thread.

At least I'm all patched up and ready to play again, have to see if I can get one of my existing heroes over 10 and perhaps up to 30 before the cutoff.

x-def isn't really meant for soloing. if you want to solo, try holo-sim instead. X-def is faster because you get xp for enemies that others "kill" too even if you're not in a party, so it's faster to level with other people. You don't have to save them, but xp boosts are certainly better with Legendary quests.

Not supposed to solo X-Def. Do not click the checkbox when queuing.

It will put you into an automatic group of 5, and doesn't take long to queue.
