Grand Theft Auto V - Coming for PS4, Xbox One and PC this Fall - Trailer

I wonder if there is going to be some sort of bonus with a game, one big story DLC would sway me over to picking it up on Day One. Without it, I'm not so sure, since I already have a Platinum from PS3 version.

So, what version are you guys most excited about, the PC, XBONE or PS4?

For me it's without a doubt the PC version.
Mainly because of the huge modding scene with so much awesome stuff.

Easily the ps4 version for one reason, and one reason only. Remote play. My body is ready rock star, lay it on me baby.

I'm getting the Xbox 1 version, but I am most excited about the PC version hands down... I just don't have a capable PC and won't for a while. I'm going to get a new PC but maybe not until 2015, so that way, I'll be able to triple-dip on this and then use all of the mods that come out by then on PC.

This releasing almost makes me wish they didn't even bother with the PS3/360 version. I'd like to see the game in nice shiny HD but I'm not sure I want to shell out another $60 and replay the campaign again.

I can't wait for the PC version. Free online and I can tune the setting to my liking. I also don't think GTAIV was that bad of a port, although I did not get it at launch. It runs good on my old computer that is vintage to the 360 and great on my more modern computer. Night lighting and traffic density options are awesome.

Not sure if it's already been mentioned - has anyone seen the price of the PS4/XB1 version on Game.co.uk?

£54.99! Are they having a laugh? That converts to $92...

[Thinking to myself]
Wonder how much it might cost, in say, H2 2015 (not this year) to build a reasonable gaming PC with one of the unannounced "2nd-gen" 20nm Nvidia Maxwell / GTX8xx cards (w/ full DX12 support) plus a decent but not TOO expensive 50 inch 4K set for GTAV PC (and gaming in general)

Would probably need to use SLI (even with a powerful Maxwell) to get 4K 60FPS.
I'd think a single card would be more than fine for 1080P 60FPS or even 4K 30FPS.

I'll bet with some great graphic mods (i.e. Icenhancer),, new Intel CPU with 8 real cores, 32 GB DDR4 and high-end Maxwell SLI'ed, 4K/60fps, GTAV PC will look almost a generation ahead of the Xbox One and PS4 versions, though for at least 10x the cost.

I have SLI 780s and get a rock solid 60fps+ on Battlefeild 4 @ 4K Ultra. So it shouldn't be that hard to pull off. Even in the piss poor optimised Watch_Dogs i get 45fps @ 4K Ultra.

It's the RRP of every current gen game since the consoles launched tbf.

Shopto , Simply and Amazon will likely have it cheaper. I'd imagine it'll come down at GAME as well , it's only just been listed after all.

Ugh, it isn't even summer until the 21st. This is so far away ;-;

Going to be unbelievable though, game was incredible on last gen systems and the trailer showed so many improvements that it really will be the definite open world for a very long time.

They'll lower it over time, it always starts high.

Still crazy it should start that high though.
It's really off-putting for someone who wants to make the jump to next gen consoles like myself. Especially when in the US games have stayed at $60, over here they've jumped up from £35-40 to £50-55.

Oft hope is born when all is forlorn.
Where the fuck can I pre-order this in Canada for Xbox One?
This sucks, did Sony pay for exclusive pre-ordering as well? Because on Amazon.ca, BestBuy, Futureshop I can only find PS4 version.

I could have barely waited a week... A full year? Hell no, I regret nothing. I'll gladly replay it though, I still fire up the PC version of GTA4 regularly.

It will be glorious!!!
The right choice was playing it early, selling it for near full price after beating it, then double dipping on the superior version. Buying the early console version does not prevent one from playing the superior version later.
Sure, those could be the right choices for you. As I said, it depends on the personality. :D

Personally, I definitely won't play the game more than once, so the right choice for me is to make that one playthrough count, do the game justice and make it as good as possible. That's the right choice for me.

Crazy, UK console games just keep going up. Its been one of the deciding factors to go PC where i can also buy digital without paying even more! GTA V is £27 for pre order on PC now.

I'm in the same boat here, just substitute Xbox One for PS4. Won't be getting a new PC til summer/fall 2015. By then there should be lots of great mods..

If it's playable in 4K @ 60fps on 20nm DX12 Maxwell SLI with graphic-enhancing mods, GTA5 PC just might be almost as much of a leap beyond the PS4 /XB1 versions as those versions are over the 360/PS3 versions. It may [no, will] take one beast of a 2015 PC to run it like that, at 60fps.

I loved GTA on ps3 but this next gen update needs to add more story missions or more heists to make me pay again for an HD remake. I'll probaly end up with the pc version when its cheap.

Honestly wasn't sure about PC since RDR though next gen was a given. Hopefully port is of MP3 quality.

The main reason RDR didn't get a PC version was because development of RDR was a disaster up until the last several months, poor code documentation, weird shortcuts/work arounds to "fix" issues and a host of other things made it something that was needed not worth investing in for a PC release, from what I remember it a good deal of RDR would've needed to be basically rewitten for it to not be an even bigger train-wreck than the PC version of GTA IV assuming they could brute force past the issues and further investment was considered not worth it. Hell, Rockstar didn't even expect to make money off the game due to all the money that was pumped into it, supposedly needing to sell four million copies just to break even. Rockstar SD basically performed a miracle (if you want to call the hell of working there at the time a miracle) to get it out and have to look and run as well as it did. Rockstar got lucky in how successful it ended up being.

Then there's the fact that Rockstar SD only had one game in its entire existence from when it was Angel Studios that also had a PC version. But it was primarily because RDR's code is a mess held together with band-aids, scotch tape and bubble gum and with shitty documentation

I'm guessing that you never bought GTAIV on PC.
It was like the Trespasser of the '00s performance-wise.

GTA IV was an unoptimized mess on a new engine that was a developer's nightmare for some time and all-round sloppy port. I'll say it now without even needing to see what the requirements end up being that GTA V won't be. I'm sure it might a quad core CPU and a GPU from the last five years but beyond that it won't be a repeat of the mess that was IV. GTA V on PS3/XB360 was already a very well optimized game on a now much more matured version of RAGE and there's little reason to expect V will be a repeat of IV or a mess that Watch Dogs also is.

Even though it's not an open world game Max Payne 3 is a better indicator of what to expect from the PC version of V in terms of requirements than IV is.

Massive install base and a massive success for Rockstar. They could not have seen those kind of numbers on PS4/XBO, just impossible.

No, but they still would have sold millions. Can you imagine how many people would run out and buy an XB1 or PS4 just to play GTA? Crazy numbers

Sure, but not to the extent that purchased the game on the previous generation. Rockstar is not in the business of selling consoles, they are out there to generate a profit. They saw a great opportunity to sell millions on the previous generation and then do so again on PC/current-gen.

Releasing the game on PC day one would have cannibalized their potential sales for the future current-gen version.

I'm not ready for a PS4 yet, but remote play is really tempting. Off TV is my favorite thing this generation.

Since most people already bought this game at its 59.99 msrp (new)...

You have to ask yourself: is the single player campaign worth $120?

Hmmm...

That, while still unfortunate is certainly less grim than I thought.

That is my gut feeling too, I expect a decent port.

How could you not be sure about the PC version when EVERY GTA game has also had a PC version? The series has a huge community on PC with a great modding community. R* would be throwing away money by not making a PC port.

The PC port of GTA IV was sloppy, open world or not. Sleeping Dogs was open world too and ran just fine.

Sleeping Dogs is nowhere near as complex when it comes to variety of animations, pedestrian routines, city detail, physics, etc. Yes, GTAIV was not a good port but comparing to Sleeping Dogs is silly.

This is definitely day one for me, excellent news R*.

I wonder when the Steam page will go up, this GameSpot article said that "preorders for the Xbox One, PS4, and PC versions of GTAV will be available starting tomorrow, June 10," and today is the 11:th.

Edit: If using the Steam app on my phone, and search for "grand theft auto," this shows up as a result. Clicking on it brings you to the front page of the store, but I guess it's just a matter of time before it's up on Steam.

Edit 2: It also shows up when searching the store normally on a browser as well. The URL simply brings you back to the front page of the store though. Here's the app ID on SteamDB with some fun facts. Apparently it was first added 6 months ago, unless I'm reading its history incorrect.
