Has it ever been explained what Pac-Man is, exactly?

Y'know, like, Mario's a plumber, Sonic's a hedgehog, Mega Man's a robot

But what is a Pac-Man? Does Bamco just say he's a yellow ball?

Doesn't matter, of course. He's an icon and I'm thrilled to have him!

Hes a pac person. You know, from pac land. Home of the Pac Man

The guy Salramano or whatever his name is , who leaked all the stuff. Said something about there being dlc, and people in production wanting lucas to be DLC.

I say rumor instead of leak, because I do not still trust this guys information. Call my cynical or whatever , but yeah.
IIRC, the third leak from Sal didn't say the team wants Lucas to be DLC. It just said they're considering DLC, and separate from that, there is internal debate about cutting Lucas. But yes, from that one can infer Lucas would be a possible DLC candidate, if cut. I'm sure any and all cut characters could possibly come back as DLC. Could be lucrative if they charged for them...

Never in a thousand years would I have imagined seeing this picture, it's beautiful....:')

Not bad model but this character doesn't excite me. However this picture is something else, incredible. I would nominate Simon Belmont from 8bit Castlevania to represent Konami and it's perfect.

He's a husband and a father, I know that much. He's the one that tells Guile how to raise a family.

I wish they showed this trailer during the Direct. Palutena is awesome but Pac's trailer is so hype.

Are there any more major gaming icons from the 90s left?
Spyro, Crash bandicoot, Banjo, Ryu, Scorpion, bomberman, Rayman, Bonk(something i want), Okami, conker, Lara Croft, Viewtiful Joe

some of these im sure arent possible, but thats just ones off the top of my head

I know that more guests characters are unlikely, but me give me Simon Belmont as a Konami rep and I'll be a happy camper.

Amazing. Most of the joy from pacman to me comes from Pacman World, what an amazingly fun game that was...

Now please, Shulk with the Monado.

I need that in my life.

So what's the character count up to now with 5 characters (including 3 mii characters, yet not counting Mr. Game & Watch) announced today?

He's a ghost hunter/eater

Personally, Simon Belmont and Ryu hayabusa is all that's left then all videogamedom will implode. All cartridges will explode due to the fabric of reality unable to contain it.

For me, I associate Pac-Man with family vacations growing up. As a kid, I always liked to check out the arcade at each hotel. I'd have similar reactions to Metal Slug and Ghosts 'n Goblins (although the latter I associate more with brick-and-mortar Pizza Hut).

Just think. This will probably ever happen again

A lot of nostalgic feels happening right now. My inner child is loving this and, current, grown up self...

Pac-Man is so awesome, but man, I really do wonder why they didn't close out the Invitational with him. I'm sure there was a reason, I'm just not sure offhand what it may be.

They might have been worried that the Invitational would turn into a disaster, or that the crowd reaction would be resoundingly negative. Basically they played it safe and lost out on a big opportunity.
