Those things are gonna be sold out the minute they are put for sale
So you're saying this will be a huge success for Nintendo and that it could possibly be the key to making the Wii U a minor success rather than a failure?

Hmm, I figured one element of this was that one figure would be useful for multiple games, but I see nothing that reflects that.
Do you think you'd be able to break off the figure and just use the base?
My MtG days put me off rarities, but at the same time I can't see them manufacturing as many Rosalinas as they do Marios. I just hope something with a $9.99 MSRP doesn't cost me $60 on Ebay.
Yep, wallets 'am cry.
Even worse, i have my figures sealed so those i want to use i'll have to buy them twice.

Depending on the distance for NFC, you may not even need to take them out of the box!

They're going to release a Mario Kart 8 series. All the koopalings. This is why MK8's roster is crap
Genius

Don't the demo kiosks for the existing brands let you scan them from inside the packaging?
Skylands works out of the box (what a pun). Tested that on a demo unit when I was bored while waiting for MK8 to be readied up for sale
EDIT: Greninja'd (So much pun)
So happy to hear that they might work while still in packaging!
It would be weird bringing your boxed up Pikachu to a friend's house though.
Man, we can now have an action figure of the Wii Fit Trainer.
What an amazing universe we live in. Next you're going to tell me the U.S. has a black president.
*someone whispers in Neiteio's ear*
WHAAAAAA--
Knowing Nintendo, they are probably gonna be region-lcoked. I mean, e-Reader cards were. Hell, the fucking GamePad itself is a region-locked controller! Those 15$ will probably be translated to 15€ ($20). Depending on the shipping cost I may import the figures instead of buying them here.
For every 3 you buy here you could buy 4 in the US.
Oh, thank CHRIST they aren't blind-bagged.

Lol that's not stupid that's money.Nintendo would be stupid to have each figure that works only with one game, I really hope that's not the case.
They need region-specific packaging regardless, and it's not like it would cost them anything substantial extra by region-locking them as well. I'm just saying anything's possible. That'd be pretty stupid and I'd kind of doubt it. I doubt people would save money by importing, and I think it'd just be cheaper to mass-produce the figures for all regions instead of individually region locking them.

The packaging looks so nice that i don't even want to open my figures outside of one.
