The whole trilogy is some of the best modern gaming, but Arkham Origins is the pinnacle for the series.
I already stumbled on that one before, but I decided to come back to it later since it seemed like complete madness.

Not exactly. The codes are printed at the time of sale and I assume Valve gets its cut from that. It's basically the same as digital distribution... only you have to go into a store.

You just get a big receipt, basically. The cards they're slotted into are nice, but, yeah, what you buy isn't actually a card. For some reason EB doesn't sell the $100 codes, so I had to buy a bunch of $50s. At the time of last year's Summer Sale I'd only recently begun dipping my toes into the trading pool through Dunder, so I spent $800 on codes and around $470 via PayPal.
I pity the fools that never watched Type/Moon shows.

Where is your hype level at for Arkham Knight? From what I've seen, it looks reallllly pretty. The only part that really felt out of place, was the tank mode on the bat mobile. Doesn't look like it fits at all.

Really? I thought the Iron Man suit Batman was wearing would have looked more appropriate (and less silly and overdone) on Samus Aran than Bruce Wayne. I'm surprised it doesn't have jet boots.

July is tax time here and last year I didn't need to spend my refund on anything else. It's why the move back to June has massively dampened my purchasing plans.
I'll prepare for the worst next year, though.

Summer Sale starts whenever a daily would normally start.
Usually Amazon or GMG have the better discounts
Steam did do an encore during the Winter Seal at least.

What was even more frustrating is it was continually winning community choice votes as well. Taking away sales from games that wouldn't get featured otherwise.

Dude, maybe before the whole Playfire Rewards thing started, but now? You can't even use coupons with credit anymore. That whole XCOM sale thing was a fluke.
Agreed, which is why this time, all CC games should all have the same end price, after discount. That'll settle their hashes.

Put me on the list of people who aren't going to have much money to spend on this sale, I'm going to be using my steam wallet credits and only it.
I've been idling like crazy so I won't have to dip into my limited funds to craft a sale foil badge. At current prices I'm about $8 short of meeting my goal, and $8 can buy many peanuts.

Highly doubtful. GMG has been good due to the ability to stack coupons and credits, etc. But with Playfire, they've cut back on that dramatically.
There is the weird tf2 bread update that currently randomly, rarely spawns different types of bread at an engineer's dispenser. They serve no purpose now but are more likely to he related to the next big update. Still it would be amusing if it were some sort of holiday meta game in a game everyone has available to them
I'd love for the achievement hunting and game/DLC crafting featured during 2011's Winter Sale to make a return, but sadly I think those days are well and truly behind us.

It's happened to me brah. I'd get a game on sale thru Steam then boom GMG has it for cheaper.
I got Wolfenstein TNO for $15 by using the 20% discount code and my GMG credit. Should their future 20% or 15% codes don't work with credit anymore I'd concede/agree to your point.

Thanks! 10 am sounds very reasonable; I'll try to find as many small breaks during my day in order to keep track on most dailies. 73 hours to go.
Credit isn't really relevant though, as it's comparable to Steam's "card money", not to mention that many GMG customers don't have a playfire account or don't bother with the rewards program. What matters are the discounts themselves, which have been progressively worse since GMG changed it's pricing policy and introduced the rewards system.

I have a lot of self control when it comes to Steam sales. I'll never buy a game (regardless of price) unless:
- It's widely considered a very good game
- I know I'll play it
- I know I'll enjoy it
- I know it'll last me a while
I doubt I'll buy anything in the upcoming sale, unless Transistor becomes gets a small discount.

The past Winter sale was my very first Steam sale ever. It was pure feels overload. Outrageous prices, great games everywhere, giveaways go wild as well; I even got lost in the midst of chaos and missed quite a lot of (amazing) deals for games that I had no idea even existed.
I'm already getting prep'd for this one, even though my body and wallet won't ever be ready.
