Please, the amount of gloating done over things like TF going from timed to full exclusive was deafening.
Let's not play the victim card here when MS have been the main drivers of this model since last gen, wasn't MS's massive spending power lauded around here by many Xbox owners?
Something goes against the grain and a shit fit occurs, laughable
What's to say he didn't feel the same about Titanfall going from a timed to a full/true exclusive?
The only "important" exclusive thing in all of those seems to be the strike mission. The weapons and armor will all be obsolete rather quickly.
Care to name some examples of people who are against this here but were for this with Titanfall? What's to say he did?
Anyway, I might have been responding to him but my point was in general.
this i do not understand, the more other people wait to get something, the more you are happy?
the fuck is happening
I believe the Germans refer to it as "Schadenfreude". It's only natural that I am happy that I will get to experience the best version of the game, is it not? This information about exclusive content was known months ahead of release of the PS4/X1 and if people choose the X1 they have no right to complain.

Excellent news. Very glad to hear it, was expecting three months, but this is even better. Glad I chose the PS4.

I'll most likely have a PS4 by the time Destiny comes out. Although, I think I'm still going to buy it for the XB1. I don't support these marketing strategies, and I'll show that with my wallet.
There's alot of hypocrisy in here all of a sudden. As Jburton said, this has always been the way MS has worked. In fact, they go one up and outright moneyhat third party games just because they have the money to do so, which is worse to me.
All this exclusive DLC, timed bullshit needs to stop when it comes to third party games, but we all know it won't.

Did you vote with your wallet when MS was doing last-gen? Heck they still doing it they even locked a fucking mode on Fifa and Plants vs Zombiies GW did you also vote with you wallet too?
Yup. Haven't bought Fifa or Plants Vs Zombies, and I was (and still am) very interested in Plants vs Zombies.
It's more so being happy that the content will seemingly be exclusive for a full year instead of the usual few months. Why is that better for you? What changes due to that?
And yes, exclusive content was known for a long time but I'm pretty sure most assumed that it would only be for a few months.
If I don't get Destiny it isn't because of the exclusive content. I just didn't think much of the Alpha. To keep it short:
- Poorly designed main quest. Boss encounters specifically.
- FOV that made me feel like I was playing with binoculars on.
- Lazy spawn system that routinely spawns mobs right on top of you.
- Horrible, unabalanced multiplayer (pvp as they call it). Who has a shotgun? Everyone!
If I do end up getting Destiny it will be for the Xbox One. I can live without one quest, a map for a horrible multiplayer mode, and weapons/equipment that will be replaced within hours of starting the game anyway.
I would love this. "It's a Bloater!" -Drinklage
Seems like another reason to just avoid the game.
No, the way you said that makes it look like you're happy that other people are experiencing the worse version. Aka "Nice, you fuckers have to wait a whole year to play the whole thing."
I take it you didn't mean to quote me there, right?

Microsoft does the exact same thing, and they've been doing it for years now. Call of Duty, Evolve, Dragon Age, The Division, the list keeps going.
Obviously that means he'll show it with his wallet by buying those titles on PS4 instead, right?

Couldn't care less, still getting it on the Xbox One
Fair point. You are wondering how this affects me? Well, it makes me feel like I am getting more value for my money than if I had to wait an extra year for the content others are enjoying. And that in turn, makes me happy. And the longer the wait, the more the value rises for me, at least.
Lol what?
Microsoft is the pioneer of this strategy. This is the fist game Sony has had the sense to snag up.
Call of Duty DLC "First on Xbox"
Evolve "First on Xbox"
Battlefield 4 DLC "First on Xbox"
The Division "First on Xbox"
etc etc etc.
In fact that is one of if not Microsoft's biggest software strategy so far with the Xbox One.
What's Microsoft doing with the division?

Tom Clancy's The Division will see its DLC coming to the Xbox One first. Sorry 'bout that, PC and PlayStation 4 adopters. The upcoming tactical shooter is slated for a 2015 release, and the latest footage out of E3 2014 showcases some interesting moves by other players who can play via mobile devices to control drones to support those on consoles.

Ditto. No amount of exclusive DLC is worth not using the XB1 controller for IMO.
So you're always going to buy the one that didn't get the exclusive DLC? The Division, Evolve, COD, etc on PS4 as an example? At what point did I say I supported Microsoft doing this and not Sony? I'm getting the impression that's what you think I said. I didn't.

This. Shame about the strike mission tho.
Apples to oranges. Destiny was an Xbox lead platform shooter from a former Microsoft studio, that made exclusive Xbox games for the past decade. Then, all of a sudden, they are on another platform, catering to fans who probably haven't even heard of their forums. Whereas many of us Halo/Bungie fans have been with them since 2001, even earlier.
Microsoft funded Insomniac's game from the start. They promised them they could keep their own IP, something Sony didn't, and in return published the game as an exclusive from the start.
I agree Insomniac Playstation fans should be upset, but without MS, the game wouldn't be made. Whereas, within a period of a year or two, Destiny has gone from Xbox lead platform, to almost year long timed exclusives for Sony.
A better example would be, imagine Naughty Dog buys themselves back from Sony, makes a new IP which is multiplatform and then, decides that Xbox gets exclusive alpha, beta, content, etc. How would the Playstation fans feel then?
I no longer have a real horse in this race. I'm a huge Bungie fan, will buy this game, already have it pre-ordered. But I'm also a Halo fan. I joined GAF for the Halo community here. So I'll be forced to go Xbox One, especially with the Master Chief Collection. This November, I'll be playing either Destiny, or games Bungie made ten+ years ago Halo CE, Halo 2, Halo 3. It sucks to lose out on content. I had a ten year bungie.net account that I've lost, and now only have an 8 year bungie account.
