I really don't care at all since Amazon doesn't take any money until it ships, and it's as easy as a couple clicks to preorder or to cancel a preorder.
Half the time I just preorder things so I don't forget about them, then I decide whether or not I want to keep the preorder once the release date approaches.
That's the plan with Destiny, a bluray, a couple comics. Keep them preordered and check my list periodically, eliminate things if I decide otherwise.

I got that message on a secondary PSN account of mine. It was because It DID NOT have PS+.

So this basically gives incentive for PS3 owners who planned on getting Destiny for the PS3 to sign up for PS+.
Because you don't need PS+ to play Destiny on the PS3 - it's only required on the PS4.

I feel like if they really are giving Destiny beta access to everyone on PS+ they would probably publicize it more. Though I would imagine there would be a wide-release beta at some point.
No idea why I would have been blacklisted. Like I said, my friend got the same email too. I was thinking maybe it's because we are not Plus members (both our wife's PSN has the + subscription tied to it) but I figured more people would have gotten the denial if that was the case.

thats likely it then. But odd that only certain parts of the game specify if PS+ is required or not. But I suppose that just relates to the final release.

They would have ruined the only reason to place a pre-order in the first place.
Damn that sucks, letting everyone with PS+ play it would probably be more beneficial than doing the pre-order stuff.

Wait. I'd better be getting another preorder bonus in its stead. I'm not one to bitch and moan, but I only preordered for this bonus. There's an inherent risk in preordering a game this far ahead of reviews. I took that risk for the reward. If this is just given to everyone else, then I expect a new preorder bonus, otherwise Sony is refunding my wallet. PEACE.

wompwompwompppppp. Then I won't want to use my beta access. I had too much fun with the alpha so I forced myself to stop to not overdo it because I can get burned out. I thought if it carried over I wouldn't feel guilty overplaying the beta lol. Guess not.

Agreed. And I'd take it a step further. Despite all the pre-release hype, there seems to be a fair amount of mediocre reactions to the game footage that has been shown so far. I fall into that camp. After being really hyped for Destiny for months my enthusiasm bubble was instantly popped when I saw the last couple gameplay vids and more info leaked about the always online restrictions. I am really not feeling this game right now. In the span of a few weeks I've gone from "Day One! Take my money!" to "Meh, maybe I'll pick it up in a few months if theres a 50% off sale...or if they release a GOTY edition...or maybe never".
Judging from reactions on GAF I know I'm not alone. Now, whether or not GAF is a representative sample or not is another question...but given that Activision is betting the farm on this game they cant afford for it to just sell OK or even pretty good like Titanfall. This thing needs to set records.
In light of this I think offering up the beta to PS+ subbers is brilliant because, really, the only way Destiny hits the sales targets they need is word of mouth. And the only way that happens is if the buzz gets steadily better again before launch. This is really the only possible way to win people like myself over at this point. After seeing the gameplay look so pedestrian and boring in videos, its clear that if this game is going to win me over I need to play it and hopefully something that cant be seen when watching but only experienced when playing will suck me in.
Edit: never mind. Lol Apparently this was all a mistake. Oh well, I'm officially back to "meh" status again.

the question could have been asked more clearly, like adding ("with no pre order required?") Technically it is still avaliable to all PS+ members. but thats sort of a half truth.

Cool, I missed out on the alpha. Now I get to try this, in July. Even though I will suck, being a mouse + keyboard fps player, I cannot for the life of me, aim with a controller.
And lol at people canceling preorders. The only way I would preorder a game is if the exclusive content is worth it. Otherwise I just get the game, usually a week early anyway ( Rockstar has street dates on lockdown, so gta is the only game I usually wait on line for)
Pachter has even mentioned the whole preordering thing.. The games aren't going to sell out. So unless there's some kind of bundle or bonus, it's simply not worth it. Especially if it's a digital purchase. You have to preload the game then wait until the stroke of midnight until you're actually able to launch the game.
The white ps4 bundle with destiny looks like it's worth it.. But I'm sure you guys aren't canceling that preorder (if they are even selling those yet) just because there's going to be a mp beta 3 weeks from now.

I for one don't preorder, but then again I get all my games physically, not digitally. I do the same on PC, when available. (Even though steam makes you download the game once you put the disc in)
I've never really been interested in this game (killing aliens with fictional guns not really my thing, especially ones that supposedly don't bleed/game has no gore) but now that I get to try it out, maybe that will change my mind.
Edit: after typing this I'm reading that the beta access is most likely only accessible to those with preorders. Now that's smart. It's a good reason to preorder. You have something exclusive there. My opinions above do not change, though.

Yup, that didn't make any sense to me. I didn't read it as " anyone with PS+ will get into beta ". Sucks for those who did, but oh well.
They would of still gotten beta codes for use though.
