I don't think he'll ever be one of the 'great' players. I look at him and Ashley Cole and how fucking immense he was at his peak and Shaw doesn't even have a smudge on absolutely anything Cole was doing.

He'll do a decent job but he's vastly overrated.

Cole was 20 when he became Arsenal's first choice. Shaw has been first choice at a club performing very well in the premier league for a season and a half now and just played at a World Cup. It's far far too early to say he won't get to the level Cole did. It's far too early to say he will. But he's promising and has performed very well in his year and a half of PL footy so far.

I thought that was odd too. LvG I can kind of understand cos he's away with Holland (even though it's just a matter of a phone call) but Giggs? He lives likes 10 minutes from Old Trafford, if that.

I might be misinterpreting here, but are you comparing a peak Ashley Cole with an 18 year old Luke Shaw?

When Ashley Cole was 18 he was on loan at Crystal Palace and barely getting a game. Luke Shaw has something like 60 Premier League starts. Come on, now.

I don't understand Viviano at Arsenal. Dude is a pretty damn good goalkeeper, makes no sense that he went to you guys to be third choice.

If Shaw plays how he did last season that alone will be a massive boost because quite simply Evra has been shit to patchy for the last two/three years. Him and Evra together will be two nice options at the least, I mean Buttner was our back up :lol

Hopefully he will keep progressing - plenty of talent and potential. I feel confident we can make a world class player of him.

Also it's very important that with him and Herrera we've added plenty of energy and speed to our squad which has been desperately lacking.

I can't believe we didn't play him in a single game. Really stupid unless Arsene just didn't see something in him. He would have been the perfect signing to replace Fabianski.
