Does a 3D Pokemon adventure have a chance of gracing my Wii U?

I would probably be intesly satisfied with my Wii U purchased if they remade gen 1 full on 3D for this console.

Any chance some kind of substancial Pokemon game will be made?

No, main series Pokemon games are made for handhelds. The best you can hope for is a Stadium type game, or I hope Stadium 3.

Make Pokemon Snap 2, what are you guys doing.

Hard to say, Genius Sonority is gimped compared to last gen. Now only focusing on Denpa Men and the (awesome) Pokemon Battle Trozei for the 3DS eShop.

There is Pokken Fighters seemingly coming but all signs point to be being a fighting game by Namco.

I think they should get Monolithsoft on a Wii U Pokemon RPG. Would be amazing as hell.

Or at least Arte Piazza or Level-5, since they've had other DQ devs make Pokemon games (Chunsoft for Mystery Dungeon and Genius Sonority aka Heartbeat on Colosseum and XD).

Unfortunately not, the farthest Nintendo/Gamefreak will go with that idea is by making it a gimped experience compared to the mainline games, like Colosseum.

Just hope that Pokken turns out to be a fun spinoff.

Is Genius Sonority even still around? Wait nevermind, I just realized they made PBR (Pokemon Battle Revolution). That was so lackluster I thought another company made it. Welp.

I think there's a major budgetary issue here. The game would either have to take place in small constrained areas, perhaps connected by an overworld, or else it would be too expensive to be worth it from a development standpoint. On top of that, now that there is 3D Pokemon on handheld, the gain from a jump to console is that much smaller.

Gamefreak likes to sell lots of copies of their game.

Oh, and also this.

It makes so much sense on the WiiU that i can't actually find a reason of why Nintendo hasn't made Pokemon Snap 2 already.

I don't understand the fascination of a Wii U port of Pokemon. The concept behind the game was to be something you could play anywhere with friends, which is why the main series has stayed on handhelds and haven't moved to a console besides to create a battle simulator. I'd be fine with a new Stadium like game, just not on the scale of a main line Pokemon game.

I'm not so interested in this idea, but Xenoblade had all those packs of monsters roaming around and flying overhead in scenic locales. It was kind of a safari-like experience. I'd like a Pokemon Snap like that.

Outside chance of a game akin to Pokemon Coliseum or XD Gale of Darkness. But a full game along the lines of the main series is unlikely.

no idea why Genius Sonority hasn't given us another console RPG like Colosseum or Gale of Darkness, seems like a no brainer
They shrank after Dragon Quest Swords failed to meet expectations. I have no idea of how big they are currently but probably not big enough for HD development

Wasn't there a teaser of a 3D Pokémon game released sometime in the past? It was like a fighting game or something.

You would have gotten the closest thing to it from the creators of Pokemon Colosseum/XD, but they would rather make Denpa Men games on the 3DS over and over again.

In the last 5 years we've had these spin-offs (because that's what a console entry is going to be):

2009: Pokémon Rumble (WiiWare)
2009: PokéPark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure (Wii)
2010: Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs (NDS)
2011: Pokémon Rumble Blast / Super Pokémon Rumble (3DS)
2011: PokéPark 2: Wonders Beyond (Wii)
2011: Learn with Pokémon: Typing Adventure (NDS)
2012: Pokémon Conquest (NDS)
2012: Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity (3DS)
2013: Pokémon Rumble U (Wii U eShop)
2014: Pokémon Battle Trozei! / Pokémon Link Battle! (3DS eShop)
2014: Pokémon Art Academy

This includes all Wii Pokémon games, barring My Pokémon Ranch, which is a glorified storage box. 2 retail games, 2 WiiWare games. On a console that was doing infinitely better than the Wii U.

Short answer nope.

Long answer Nooooooooooooope Pokémon was born and created for the handheld and it will forever be a handheld games, nothing will ever change that in a million years.

Because they no longer serve any purpose, the Colosseum and XD game only existed as a mean to get the missing Jotho Pokémon without actually making a gen 2 remake in gen 3.

Plus with Pokémon X and Y going fully 3D there's really no reason as a home console Pokémon game doesn't really offer anything that the handheld can do beside a better graphic in HD.

You would have gotten the closest thing to it from the creators of Pokemon Colosseum/XD, but they would rather make Denpa Men games on the 3DS over and over again.

They can only make another Colosseum/XD if the Pokémon Company green lights it since they are in charge of what Pokémon games get made.

I think it has a lot better of a chance happening than most people here. It would be a great way to boost wii u sales. Now or never nintendo.

Plus, i really want it to happen, so....

Gen 1 already has a remake back in gen 3 and Pokémon X and Y was kinda like a gen 1 in 3D since it took all the memorable moment from gen 1.

And even if for some reason if Game Freak does a gen 1 remake it will be for the 3DS and not the Wii U.

The main series is never hitting the home console period.

Yup, not to mention I don't think current Game Freak would even bother to make a console game anyway.
The minecart levels in captain toad give me hope that this is a possibility
That's one way to keep hope.

No

Nintendo do not have the staff necessary in order to create a large scale Pokémon game. If they were to obtain the necessary manpower, the Wii U's time will have passed.

Again for a Pokémon Snap 2 to happen the Pokémon Company would have to approve it and at the moment they don't seem to see it as a priority

I'm still a bit salty about this. Of course it's their baby and they can and should do with it what they want. However an on rails or open-world'ish Pokemon Snap would be pretty awesome. I don't know how the original sold, but I had a pretty fun time playing it. With the gamepad and decent hardware to work with, I imagine they could put out something that would sell at least decently well.

This guy is trolling in every thread? I thought shit like this wasn't tolerated here.

I don't have a 3DS, I do have a Wii U. I like Pokemon, I would like a Pokemon on Wii U.

That's pretty much it.

Spend 10x resources for the same payoff yeah not happening.

Sometimes I feel like asking why do they even make consoles to begin with when time and time again their handhelds outperform their consoles in sales and market share, are cheaper to make, the software is cheaper to make, and generally more positively received. But it's not like Nintendo can not make a console.
