The UK heatwave continues, kids are all on holiday and there’s not a console new release in sight.

The overall market drops 3% units/revenue over last week and that means week 30 is the second lowest (units) so far this year and the lowest for revenue. Ubisoft’s ‘Watch Dogs’ (+3%) completes a double hat-trick of consecutive weeks at No1 (weeks 22-24 and weeks 28-30), now just 1 week away from equalling FIFA 14’s 7 weeks at No1 this year (12 weeks at No1 since launch). The aforementioned ‘FIFA 14’ from EA remains at No2 (+5%), Microsoft’s ‘Minecraft 360 Edition’ climbs three places to No3 (+4%) and 505 Games’ ‘Sniper Elite 3’ climbs one place to No4 (-6%).

The weeks big climber is Warner’s ‘The Lego Movie Videogame’ (+41%), climbing 7 places to No5 and benefitting from the campaign surrounding the launch this week of the movie on DVD/Blu-ray (out Monday 21st July). Sony’s ‘Minecraft PS3 Edition’ is now at No6 (-3%) and has climbed one place every week for the last 4 weeks. Elsewhere in the Top 40 EA’s ‘Skate 3’ (No25 / +17%) continues a remarkable return to the Top 40 (now stretching back 17 consecutive weeks) – the last time this title graced the Top 40 was almost 2 years ago and the game itself dates back to 2010. EA also have the highest re-entry at No31 with ‘Need for Speed: Rivals’ (+44%), benefitting from some price promotion activity.

Is Titanfall still that high because the Titanfall bundle is still being sold, or does it just have legs?

Titanfall is still charting, nice.
Only because it's packaged with almost every X1 sold.

I'm impressed by Watchdogs legs, mainly due to the smart release window. There's been nothing else to compete with it on the AAA game front since it released so it keeps picking up sales based on having no real competition.

Is this games picking up as a new cult following or is there just nothing else coming out and it's picking up only to fill the void?

It's advertised on kids TV several billion times a day. The ad with the girl in it must have worked wonders as she's back in a new one with her Dad and a boy she likes who's in a band, lol.

On a semi-related note, I actually witnessed a Vita ad this morning on either CITV or POP, showed tearaway, minecraft and a £149.00 price. Prepare for multiple re-entries on the platform next week
lolol

Really?

Interesting. Has it even been dated for Vita yet? I can't remember.

Lol, things don't work like that. People do need to be interested in it. It's most likely marketing and word of mouth.

Aw, Watch dogs is up 3%, guess that means no sub 10,000 number 1 in all formats for the second weakest sales of the year.

Didn't think I would see Tomodachi life beating out the PS4 version of Watch Dogs...well when it comes to value is loses out but is still number 2.

Yep.

I'm more impressed with this amazon.uk charts : http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/bestsellers/videogames/ref=sv_vg_h__12

I know it's only Amazon, but it looks like Destiny Xbox One might outsell the PS4 version. At least in UK.

Well done on the most quoted post of the day :)

The higher install base and PS4 marketing (extra content) will result in a big lead for the PS4 version. I would not be surprised if Destiny sells 2:1 on Playstation 4 in the UK.

Do you know this as fact or are you just saying this to kill any type of goodwill Titanfall has in the UK? Seriously.

Game is awesome. It deserves to have legs.
I love the game, but without the bundles I dont think it would have legs even close to what it does now. Would probably hover around the 15-20 mark

Can't offer any more than that, sorry. Googled a bit and no sign of the ad anywhere. As for the ad itself, tbh it left me sighing, it didn't feel well-judged in its execution, more like what a team of suits think kids might jump up and down in front of the TV shouting "want that!" than will actually be the case. Shame. I will point out, though, that my 3yo son did in fact jump out of his chair shouting "playstation! playstation daddy!" but I think that says more about the novelty of a ps TV ad and the eyebrow-raising imprint my gaming activities are having on him than anything. He didn't even comment on the "frobisher machine" as he calls it, just the word "playstation".

Sorry for off topic, the charts are dull as the weather is not.

Just look at the chart its obvious the only reason it is on there is because its a bundle. There is no other X1 game within the top 20. Its clearly just being afforded the weekly sales it gets from bundling. Meanwhile the 360 version is lagging far far behind which wouldn't be the case if the IP was strong.

Is Watch Dogs being bundled with PS4? The PS3 version is lagging far far behind?

The TitanFall bundle is just a much better value proposition than the standalone Kinect-less SKU in the UK. Most TF sales certainly look like they're from bundles.

Not saying that's a bad thing, but common sense would suggest bundles make up a large percentage of sales.

Illness is the doctor to whom we pay most heed; to kindness, to knowledge, we make promise only; pain we obey.
Is Watch Dogs being bundled with PS4? The PS3 version is lagging far far behind?

PS3 has a smaller install base and its version of Watch Dogs still outperform the XBO-version by quite the margin. So, it's not lagging behind all that much. So, the PS3 version of Watch Dogs is at #13 and the XBO version of Titanfall is at #17. The question that needs to be asked is: if the XBO version of Titanfall is removed from bundles would the 360 version be the best selling version?
