Leon S.Kennedy is 37 years old!

37 is not old. Even 40 isn't really that old. I think Leon, Ada and the rest of the RE crew look great for their age. I'm glad Capcom isn't afraid to have characters in a Japanese video game over 17 years old. Not that it makes the game any better or anything, but it's sort of refreshing.

Every vehicle Leon has either drove or been in has crashed, with the exception of the speedboat and jetski in RE4.

Police car in 2? Crashed it.
Police escort car in 4? Crashed after he got out of it. (not his fault, but clearly a curse)
A police car, airplane, AND a helicopter in 6? You know the deal.

If it doesn't run on water, don't even let this man near it.

He drove his jeep just fine into Raccoon City.

Pharrell Williams is in his 40s and he looks like he is in his 20s.

its all in the genes my friend... Also Leon is a video game character.

I'm surprised they don't all look like shit considering what they go/have gone through and where do they all find the time to shop for their fancy clothes when the world has gone to shit?

I'm missing the RE6 context, should I even play it?

Everyone should play RE6.

He's not even 40. He was barely 35 at the time.

Jesus Christ, people. You'd think we'd gotten the revelation that these people were mid 50's or older.

They do it to keep older fans around and I think that's about it.

Leon is all sorts of awesome, my favorite RE character by a long, long mile. It also helps that he has an awesome track record:

- Co-protagonist in RE 2, game was amazing. In particular, the "Leon B" campaign has had the best story of any section of RE so far.
"Ada.... no.... ADDDDDAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! [The self-destruct sequence has been activated, repeat...]

- Main protagonist in RE 4. That game gets mentioned at (or towards) the very top of any "Top <X> games of all time" list that is to be taken seriously.

- In ensemble cast in RE 6. Game is not of good reputation, but from a lot of the reviews I read, the "Leon's campaign is the best part of the game" was almost unanimous.

Never played RE Gaiden, so I have no idea what that game is about. But hey, Leon is in it, so it MUST be good! :-D

Just finished RE4 on PC. Man, that game holds up incredibly well. I hope someday they do a REmaster of RE2 so I can roll through that with him again.

People seem to not have a grasp on the length of time that's passed during the RE series. If I'm not mistaken, all the mainline games except RE1 and Code Veronica take place roughly when they came out. RE6 takes place in 2013, 15 years after RE1-3.

Another tidbit, Sherry in RE6 is the same age Leon was in RE4. She's actually older than Jake, who would have been six years old at the time of Raccoon City.

But what happened to that jeep after the intro, hm? Yeah, that's right.

Except they kinda are tho. That's the reason they created Jake Muller, because Capcom thinks most RE fans are actually in their 40s (yes, I'm serious) and that one of the reasons the series isn't popular with young people is because most of the games cast is old themselves.

Yeah Sherry is like 8 years older than Jake. Why does that make them more appealing as a couple to me...?

EDIT: Leon is so not the best campaign of RE6. That honor belongs to the Chris campaign.

Age is nothing but a number, pls take me Leon.
Or Ada, just make your move, Sir.

Edit: Fun fact. Johann Urb, who played Leon in Resident Evil Retribution, is also age 37.

You can actually post it. You know you want to.

RE5 Chris led the series to the best selling installment in the series, which will probably never be matched again. Haters can stay pressed, RE5 Chris is now the iconic look for the character. Scrawny, bland RE1-era Chris is dead and buried, and thank goodness for that.

Also, Leon is boring.

Uncle Leon is awesome.

Capcom will either let characters die or retire depending on suitability.

I dunno, who's their oldest legit 'still sexy' character?
Besides Morrigan duh

Still looking good, Leon. ;)

You guys should check out the ages on the Outbreak characters (if anyone cares):

Kevin: 47
Mark: 68
Jim: 40
George: 55
David: ?

Alyssa: 44
Yoko: 36
Cindy: 40

Just decrease the time between outbreaks/incidents and they can easily keep the characters after RE7 and beyond :D Although I wouldn't mind if they were in their ~fifties or sixties in the end.

I was never a huge fan of Leon/Ada but Chris and Jill are my favourites and would be a cute couple :) And they should have a game together!

This doesn't shock me nearly as much as the Ryu birthday. I mean, 1998 was 16 years ago.

There's some heavily invested Resident Evil shipping here. Gay GAF can confirm to you that the following is canon:

1. Leon + Chris is true Endgame R.I.P.
Piers Nivans
2. Ada don't need no man when she's the HBIC
3. By process of elimination, Jill and Claire end up as close gal pals... that eventually turns into something more. Together, they travel the world and settle down and start their own orphanage in South Africa. There, Jill meets an orphaned boy whose first words to her are "Are you the master of unlocking?" Smitten, she takes him under her wing and renames him "Barry."

Okay, if you really insist
Can I just say that I would kill a man for Leon's hair (I mean, like his actual hairline/style, not just a snip of it, although the temptation would still be there).

Leon's the best Resident Evil male by a long shot.

I'm still juggling with the females though.

Jill not even getting a mention in 6, just wtf? Even a toss out file would have been alright.

They do this all the time. It heightens mystery as to whereabouts and boosts expectations for returns.

Leon is my favorite video game character.

I even have a 1/6 hot toys model of him, and a replica leather jacket from RE6.

I am 38 in 17 days time :(

It was so weird having gone from Chris and Jill being partners for at least 11 years,
that being a huge deal in 5 and Revelations.
To Jill not even getting a mention in 6, just wtf? Even a toss out file would have been alright.
Yes this was quite disappointing. I hope they have some explanation planned for one of the next games.

Ah Leon S. Kennedy, one of the few male characters I actually enjoy playing as. Definitely one of the hottest video game guys, and easily the true male star of the Resident Evil series.

Dear Chris: You're a steroid-abusing meathead who has the personality of a wet sponge and who continues to hog the spotlight. Please die in a fire kaythanksbye.

Oh my. shidoshi, I thought I knew you. I was so very wrong.

;_;

For other characters its fine, for Chris/Jill it doesn't work.
RE3 explained why Chris wasn't there, we knew why Jill wasn't involved in Code Veronica.
Jill is a founding member of the BSAA and Chris' partner from the very beginning, Chris goes crazy looking for her in 5.
Yet when Chris goes missing for months she doesn't even get a mention.

If they didn't want to heavily use her say she is taking a break or doing desk work at that time.
Even Claire was mentioned in 6.

Now RE7 will star Jill still as a BSAA agent, and everyone will wonder where Chris is.

Yup

Leon > Chris any day. Chris would have died at the lasers in RE4 for sure.

Anyway I see a lot of peeps saying 37 aint that old. Thats true, I'm just surprised that Leon is 37 if you know what I mean. The games make all the characters seem much younger than they really are.

I prefer Chris and Claire.

They're brother and sister.

Leon and Claire would be more fitting.
