7 months into the year. What's your GOTY so far?

Hard to believe we're already 58% of the way into the year. So, here's a little GOTY check-in.

Would have to be Wolfenstein for me. Just a fantastic campaign all around; I remember damn near every second of that game. Really feels like the Riddick follow-up I always wanted.

You?

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.

Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare. The most original multiplayer experience out right now, and its surprisingly one of the most balanced multiplayer shooters available this year.

Probably Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. The game looks amazing in motion, play great, and it has an amazing soundtrack. Can't really ask for much more.

I might catch some heat for this...

...but so far it's the TLoU:R.

Fully expect Destiny to replace that once the time comes.

Mario Kart 8.

Shovel Knight and South Park: The Stick of Truth are the only games that have come close so far.

Dark Souls 2 but there were quite a few nice games this year like Shovel Knight,Watch_Dogs,TLoU:R,South Park and MGS:GZ.

mine is definitely Dankey Stank County Tropical Freeze but Wolfenstein is a close second. And I suppose inFamous is at third.

Even thought its inferior to it's predecessor, I'd have to say:
Dark Souls II

Honorable mentions go to:
Transistor
MGSV: GZ

With all the good things I hear about Wolfenstein, I think I'll have to pick up it up at some point. I only wish that I hadn't watched my brother play the ending, as my first play through will be somewhat tarnished....

And on the sixth day the LORD David Bowie created man and woman in His image. And he saw that it was good. On the seventh day the LORD created videogames so that He might take the bloody day off for once.
Ground Zeroes, by default.

Uh...South Park: SOT, I guess. It's only between that and Titanfall, really. I haven't bought many new games this year.

still kinda leaning towards Transistor
This. Have not finished it for my own weird gamer reasons. (need to be the mood to one shot the game) but what I played is freaking outstanding. Best intergration of story INTO gameplay i have seen in years besides Bastion.

Sorry but a game like Transitor is why I HATE CINEMATIC GAMES and love true games. They waste so much on being like movies when really you have proof the medium does better when the game IS ALWAYS a game and uses it OWN unique tools to do story telling. Not stupid silly freaking cinematic cutscencs that are totally crying. "I WANT TO BE HOLLYWOOD!"

Transitor is the ideal we need for story telling but don't get and for that its my GOTY.
