Ridiculously impressive numbers. Sony really played all their cards right this gen and are reaping the rewards for it. Congrats to them!

Well, historically, thats how the year breaks down with a nice majority of sales happening in Q3,Q4. So the demand will most certainly be there. The only problem, as you said, is whether they prepared the appropriate production lines?

I'm in college right now, and the today's dudebros don't care about these franchises that much anymore. A lot of them, believe it or not, play smartphone games like Clash of Clans or even League of Legends. A lot has changed since 2007...

If Nintendo can do it surely Sony can too. Remember although both Wii and PS4 were supply constrained in the first 5-7 months, PS4 was still the fastest produced console ever manufactured by men on the planet earth.

I know 5 people that are waiting for the Destiny bundle and all the rest have gotten PS4's. Thats 12 people and 12 PS4's 2 xbox ones between them.

I think this momentum keeps up all year.

Also, the fall season is going to be absolutely insane for PS4 sales. Looks like I was right when I said whatever PS4 sold, Xbox would sell half that. And Wii U will probably sell half of that half.

Congrats to Sony.

My understanding of the supply chains is that even under "instant sell-out" conditions, at any given time you'll have 3-4 weeks worth of shipments that haven't even reached the shelves yet, so your current sell-in will always be "the length of your supply chain" greater than your current sell-through.

So I think that'd mean June sell-in should be roughly equal to the projected sell-through for July, for example.

Nice job Sony. Now give me a reason to actually buy the system so I can be a part of the 11 million! I see the next Ace Combat and/or an intriguing Jrpg, similar in scope to Resonance of Fate or DQ8, being exclusive to the Ps4 and I must be there...

Amazing how quick they've done this. Well deserved, they'd of done well even if Microsoft didn't fuck up, but MS's faults has definitely helped largely.

I agree.

But I find an interesting note is the inevitable.

The mountain of games being lined-up for Sony, will thus find more people who are getting the system for the "games"... It's just snowballing out from this point.

Good to see honest effort by a company, honestly rewarded.

Xbox is selling well. PS4 is selling incredibly well.

Glad to see consumers making the right choice for once, and glad to see Sony back on top of their game. It hasn't been perfect, but they've done a damn good job.
