What I've gathered from the stream so far:

-Stability control can now be turned off.
-Mechanical damage was confirmed.
-Drivetrain swaps are in (the first Horizon didn't have this)!

These are all very exciting aspects to me, haha.

Holy crap this is a nice looking game.

I slept on Horizon and no longer have a 360 - are the controls closer to PGR or NFS?

definitely closer to PGR. i'd say its somewhere between pgr and forza, though closer in that spectrum towards pgr

Hmmm...

Golf R engine + 4WD drivetrain on a VW camper van? OH YES.

Skyline R34 engine + 4WD drivetrain on a Datsun 510? OH MORE YES.

RS200 engine + 4WD drivetrain on a Focus RS? GIMME NOW!

We need a demo ASAP

Please ??

So good to see mechanical damage and tire wear, as well as stability control togglable; they really listened to fan feedback from the first Horizon. It was mentioned that the tuning options will be the same as Forza 5, which is awesome.

the majority of the driving assists were also in horizon 1. its probably too much to expect, but it sure would be nice if we could recreate the forza feel in horizon. 5's sim handling in an open world would be glorious

Someone asked about a HUD-less option but we didn't get round to answering that question on the stream. Can confirm that you can toggle HUD elements on/off and can go completely HUD-less if you're that way inclined :)

Oh and regarding the Ariel Atom, that was already confirmed, Ralph just wasn't 100% sure.

Glad we can disable the HUD. That skill meter thing is annoying me already just from watching vids :), can we disable the sound that goes with it too ?

I asked that, some others probably did too but I know I did. It's a pretty common feature but it's good to know we can enjoy the raw game if we want to.

Helios, does the second option (Steering) only go to left side (Assisted) or does it go to the right side too (Sim steering)? :)

It has arrows on both sides. Compare to the braking assist setting (Assisted/ABS On/ABS Off) and the Damage setting (Off/Cosmetic/Simulation), and contrast to the traction/stability assists (On/Off), and the Driving Line option which is at one of the far ends of the usual scale (Full/Braking Only/Off).

Good spot, it's clearly the case but I would never have thought of that.

You should put out some HUD-less footage.

I already noticed that, but still that doesnt answer the second part of my question? sim steer like F5, or a bit different?
;)

We need hud-less gameplay, in the rain or at night from in-car....please.

Ah good they kept simulated steering in even though they could easily just leave that out, thank you!

Full tunes is also something I look forward to playing with, the horizon 1 method of just having a few bolt ons really hurt when trying to setup cars for hard races.

A while back (I think) I remember confirmation that it would have full tuning in addition to upgrade options, on par with what was there in Forza 5.

Helios said in the stream chat that every aspect of tuning in Forza 5 is possible in Horizon 2.

Such heresy, why are't they driving in 1st person view? it's the only real way to play racing games.

edit: now that's more like it.

Can't wait! Fired up Horizon on the 360 last weekend in prep for this and ended up playing for about 8 hours over 2 days after tucking the wife in. Everything looks fantastic and the online integration looks easy peasy lemon squeezy.. can't wait!

If you for some reason have never played forza horizon and are on the fence, I can say it's some of the most fun you'll have with an open world racer.. I particularly enjoyed the skill challenges during the photo-ops in h1. I hope they have more of these in 2!

Thanks Helios et al.. Looking great, and this will be a time soaker when I don't really need one :O

Damn... 700+ vs 117? Thats a lot of content.

As much credit I'd give Playground Games (and considering that I just started a third playthrough of Horizon 1, because DAMNIT I NEED OPEN-WORLD FORZA NOW!), I suspect that 700+ event count may have some "accounting" tricks, like "same road with different classes of cars = 10 events!".

If I'm wrong, I'll take my hat off, put on some kneecaps and start sucking on some PG dick.
