A Smashboards mod's claiming the original leaker made up the DLC thing.

Exactly. I'll never understand their mentality. Attention I guess? Taking the chance they are right and if they are they become famous in the community? Being jerks just for the laughs? Either way it's clear they are not caring how they affect others, it's completely selfish as are all who make up having info they don't really have. This "attempting to smoke out fakes" is nothing but an "out" of course.

To be fair, though, I mean if someone came onto GAF and made a thread like that without any proof I imagine they'd receive the same treatment. It just seems unfair in retrospect since we know they were telling the truth.

They "verified" it through whatever arcane means they consider verification. So basically there's no legitimacy to it, unless you trust them already, which I don't think anyone here does.

don't stress about the roster. Stress is only useful when it will make you more likely to do something to affect an outcome. In this case, stress is useless. Save your feelings for final confirmations.

Even if the leak is fake I'm pretty much expecting Dark Pit to be on the roster.
He's guaranteed to be playable in some form, either as a Pit alt or a clone, and with the whole Lucina thing I pretty much expect Dark Pit to be put in as a Pit clone with minor adjustments. Mainly because he's his own character, he's not 'Pit', he's 'Dark Pit', it's not like with the generic Villager or Wii Fit Trainer.

Guy gets photos, "edits" them for 50 hours, uploads them at a VERY precise time coinciding with other leaks. Soon reveals the DLC part is fake.

Yeah, I don't know why he'd be particularly concerned with calling out fakers.

Basically the leaker stated he added the DLC info himself and that it was fake and only to "sniff out" other leakers, which makes zero fucking sense.

Exactly lol. Which is why until someone on Smash boards posts a complete "how-to" video on how they either made the leak or got the information, just ignore them completely. That's obviously not the real leaker.

Who's to say they didn't use a lot of old stages for the 3DS?
Even if they did, they'd definitely not be as messy as they are on the select screen, and the image quality should be way better. Some stages are so low-qual that it's near impossible for me to tell what's what.
Of course, "off screen at a stupid angle" camera work is at play here.

It's not very low quality or messy, or at least not any more so than what we saw at the demo. It's consistent with the demo. Once again, a post like this doesn't really offer a compelling argument, as the same could be said about an official version of the game (the demo).
Wut. Some icons are too dark to tell what the stages are. I cannot identify around 4 stages here at all.
It's shoddy work, really.

Nobody else has had that problem, so I think the problem might be on your end. Once I again, I think it's quite likely you'd here these same complaints if the demo character/stage select screen was shown to you a few months ago. "Why is it so ugly? Sakurai wouldn't make it look so bland, especially with how dynamic the WiiU version looks!"

Dude, Smash is like, the kind of game that your friend buys when you're 10 years old, and you go over to his house with absolutely no idea how to play it, and everyone has a blast. It's the kind of game that you can haul out at a college party or play with your parents. The hardcore Smash community is an incredibly small subset of the millions of super-casual people who play Smash as a party game.
I'll avatar bet that the leak is fake.
I will eat shit and wear any embarrasing avatar for the next 3 months if I'm wrong. And vice versa.
If the supposed leak really is real, then here's what the final roster will look like, including DLC:
I gotta say, the lack of Mewtwo and a third Donkey Kong character really bums me out, but aside from that I'd be really happy with this roster. I hope we get a new character reveal soon so we can determine for sure whether the leak is real or fake. Though, even if the leak is confirmed to be real, the supposed DLC characters are still up in the air...
