This is the kind of episode I would never expect out of a show like this, and it's also the kind of material that can easily be handled incorrectly. Not in Doremi, though. Sato pulled it off beautifully and it's one of the best single episodes of anime I've ever seen.

Ahhhh, I shouldn't have watched this. Now I want more! Love the take on this story in modern times and SV2's struggle with bi-pedal robots becoming an antiquated technology. I didn't think it would so neatly tie into the actual continuity of the show/movies. I'm really glad that with this we'll have a sort of "updated" Kenji Kawai Patlabor soundtrack. It sounded great.

I was reading Arachnid earlier today and this happened. I was pretty determined to say that I wouldn't see an asspull of this level for a while. Guess I was wrong.

I honestly want Salty Dog to succeed this time. But, nope... He even goes as far as to join the squad. I'm legitimately disappointed.

ESPECIALLY in Magical girl shows with a MotW formula. Both Fresh Precure and Sailor Stars fall apart right when formula strikes, which basically breaks up the flow of the entire episode. Probably worse in Sailor Stars case
considering they never made a big deal about the doctor who was transformed, and just happened to be that kid's doctor. I mean, maybe they didn't know who it was but still.

This is an episode in regards to medical problems,
life threatening medical problems
, and this episode fucking delivered after Fresh Precure and Sailor Stars fucked it up. Leave it to the underdog Magical girl show to deliver.

Man this was just sweet. Its hard to really comment on the episodes since every one of them so far has been:

- Funny
- Sweet

RIP in peace Hercules beetle *salute*

Oshii is heavily involved apparently.

ONII-SAMA the Animation 21

Just bang already - the episode
I find it funny that the screentime involving ecchi hijinks like the ever popular "Whoops! We fell and I grabbed your breast!" is more entertaining then Onii-sama himself.
I mean he pretty much had two or three lines this episode and one of them was a conjecture layered over a hypothesis on what Leo and Erika could possibly be doing on a day off together.
What an exciting man.

Barakamon 08

Damn. That was some good healing.
And these after ED scenes are getting weirder. Who knew Poochie was a girl?

Captain Earth 21

Oh c'mon. What was that?
Why even make a situation like that when Teppei just is revealed to have bullshitted a survival 5 seconds later.
And the Salty Dog stuff is going into the next episode too?
Urghghghghgh

This story is going to take more than one episode. I'm okay with that. As I've said week after week, I don't see this show as a trainwreck. The animation could be better, but mid-tier animation can be overlooked if the characters can carry it. And Naoto's knowledge fits with the situation, and he uses it as heroically as anybody could ask. Aoi's bond is becoming stronger, and Haruka is getting more to do, which is something I wanted even more. It kept the dramatic tension up and it did it well, or at least well enough, which I'm okay with too.

Sounds like a concise summary of Doremi as a whole! Speaking of delivering...

Ojamajo Doremi Na-i-sho 13 END
Yamauchi had his landmark ep in 4, Sato had 12, of course Igarashi himself wouldn't be left out. Well, he had 9 but that was a different kind of episode.

It's amusing that both 12 and 13 boil down to the same set-up of Doremi -and only Doremi- meeting and interacting with a new character, and how different they turned out from there. It speaks to the strength of the series -and this OVA in particular- that both are fucking amazing. Na-i-sho was fucking amazing, best animu I've seen in a good long while. I don't know how I'll go back to regular Doremi now, as good as that is :p

That was a great episode. Tama bringing up Handa leaving while in the gravesite was interesting. We see how closeknit the community is as everybody comes to pay homage to Naru's grandmother, and I don't think it would be too huge a leap to think that if Handa were to leave that it would be similar to a death to Naru, although until we know what's up with her parents it'd be hard to say.

May be the single best episode in the whole franchise. Even after this show showed time and time again how emotionally impactful it could be, I wasn't at all expecting an episode like this one.

Always knows how to lift spirits. Just what I needed after all of that abuse in Aldnoah.Zero and the asspull in Captain Earth.

RIP Hurkules ;_;

I doubt Dokka~n has anything to top it. Although it feels wrong directly comparing episodes like this one (and most of Na-i-sho) which are really self-contained to stuff like Sharp 40 which pays off on entire seasons of carefully building the characters. Both kinds are greatly done and worth experiencing, of course.

So Clannad is getting an official localization and coming to Steam. Those Key floodgates are opening.

First Assassin's Creed Unity attempts to appeal to otaku by having a romance story with a childhood friend one was raised together with (and succeeding as I am now interested). Now this.

How much longer till lewd VN is common in America?

Valve still won't let porny stuff on Steam, so AO VN's are stuck in J-List hell.

...I did not hit her, I did not! Oh hi AnimeGAF!

Acchi Kocchi 10

So cute but GODDAMN this show is such a constant tease. I swear to god if there isn't a confession by Tsumiki or something by the end of this, I'm gonna pop my own skull off and throw it at my screen. 'Cause I'm a skeleton, I can do that.

Space☆Dandy 18

Dandy butt, lots of Dandy butt

This little kid sidekick is screaming the Miyazaki/Ghibli influence of this

this bass solo soundtrack fuck yeah Jean Baudin would be proud

Ian Sinclair's dub work on this fucking amazing

Captain Earth 16

God this so fucking simplistic.

What a blatant fucking deus ex machina. Hell, it literally came from a 'god' by their own words. fuck.

Attack on Titan 10

I feel like I'm in a recycling factory.

Good luck trying to find your destroyed home. Your cities and buildings look identical!

Talk about another deus ex machina, though I do like Pixus (sp?) "...if it was a sexy lady titan..." lol

I can't listen to Voorman's dub and not hear Vegeta

One Week Friends 4

Kiryu-kun is best bro.

Everything so by the numbers but it's damn earnest and surprisingly real. It's incredibly sweet and so very human. I love this show.

Terror in Resonance 3

GODDAMN this show is so fucking good

It honestly feels somewhat like more mature Death Note. It's not wacky and over-done for the sake of being over done, but that cat-and-mouse detective v. terrorist trope is still very strong. Only bad parts so far is 1) beside the Police director and Shibazaki, most of the police characters are rather one-dimensional, especially that loud mouthed rookie, and 2) Lisa's role still is rather murky and not really utilized, but I figure that'll get layed out soon enough.

As soon as I can I need to get a hold of this OST. I'm a sucker for dark, brooding post-rock/post-metal and this is right up my alley.

So what did people here think of Speed Grapher?

GIRLS ON FILM! SHE'S MORE THAN A LADY! GIRLS ON FILM!

Anime that started out decently with the dystopian world, then fumbled when it moved on to Monster of the Week for a bit, and then over-all just ended up being disappointing. The best aspect of the show imho was that it had a decent villain. I wouldn't watch it again personally.

But yeah I love the OP song.

Fate/Zero 12

So, this is what insanity looks like.

God damn, every speech Rider makes has me enraptured. Amazing character.

I don't kid when I say that I would follow that man to hell and back with nothing but a squirt gun. He's a man's man, and with a glorious beard.

Kave_Man

come in my shame circle
So I started watching No Game No Life.

3 episodes in and it started off a bit annoying with some loli bullshit but that has since gone away and things have become interesting.

SAOII 08

Decent episode. Good cliffhanger.

The fanservice surrounding Kirito is just ridiculous as ever. SAO does not deserve to make evangelion references. It looks like the main plot will finally go somewhere after all those "characterization" episodes.

Space Dandy - 21
One of the most visually and emotionally captivating things I've seen all year. I'd really like to rewatch this to collect my thoughts. Yasuhiro Nakura put in work.

Fate/Zero 13

Now with new OP!

Ok, that was awesome. BERSERKER WITH A FIGHTER JET!

Wait, is he saying what I think he's saying?
Goodbye Lancer?
