There's no way of knowing before actually seeing it in action.
Again, there's 2 factors to consider before TOs can make a decision:
- How long does it take to customize?
- How good are the custom moves?

We have no way of knowing anything about the second aspect just yet, and the first one is only barely piecing itself together.

Oh i thought there had been hands on with that feature guess not.
I see the second one being the biggest issue.

I have to say...even if Snake it out, i'm fascinated by Shulk. Think I might use him after seeing that footage. He looks dope. His sword also looks like a lightsaber when it glows!

Yup! I have no idea what people are talking about when they say he's not a villain haha. In Wind Waker he's a sympathetic character, but he's definitely completely evil. I guess the other explination is that while he really hated OoT, he finds WW Link kinda cute, and maybe mellowed out over time? But I mean, he's still evil.

Haha, that cuteness always working for Toon Link!

Late to the party on this:
As far as customization goes, I will be extremely sad if customized movesets don't end up being the tournament standard. Screw what anonymous online matches has to say about that, customized moves is the thing I'm most looking forward to in this game.
If I had to guess, you'll probably end up extremely sad.

I wonder what music they'll play for Bowser Jr.'s reveal
The airship theme?

TOs have had as much hands on experience as everybody else. They don't have any secret additional access to the game. And the E3 build (that also was used at SDCC and Gamescom) did not have any customization.

I buy cakes for myself on my birthday it's not weird lots of people do it I bet
Getting any Sticker Star music alongside him is a best case scenario, always.

Come to think of it, Bowser Jr. is almost an RPG rep now, isn't he? He's used the Jr. Clown Car in both Sticker Star and M&L Dream Team.

Yeah, in Dream Team he was the big secret boss too.

I wish he had more of a role in both games, Jr.'s a character who really needs to be in more RPGs to develop.

Is anyone here actually going to use custom movesets or Mii?

I'm very partial on the idea.

I'll look into it. But i'll most likely use them in a casual setting when I have family/friends over to play when the wii u version drops. It'll be funny seeing us have our computer controlled miis fight. lol

The prescence of Bowser, Bowser Jr and possibly the Koopalings makes a Bowser's Castle stage essential.

Sakurai, make it happen. Long overdue.

What do you think the odds are of us getting a direct or a newcomer video this week? PAX is this upcoming weekend and I thought I heard there would be some new information for PAX.

This is a bit silly to me. I'd never dismiss a feature before I even try it out in its final incarnation. I'm not super interested in Miis or Palutena but I'm still planning on trying them out just to see if they stack up to expectations.
I have no interst in them because I don't like them. Don't see how my opinion feelings are silly.

It's probably not gonna happen, but I'd love to have:

Man, everything about 3-on-3 Hoops except the gameplay was top-notch.

Awesome music, a nice character selection including cool FF-Reps, great graphics including 3D models and neat sprites and artwork...

I'd love another with a more traditional control scheme.

Well, Paper Mario and Mushroom Kingdom U both have Castle transformations...

It's fine if that's how you make decisions, I just think it's weird to have formed an opinion on it before having a hands on.

I don't play smash for customization or miis. That's not what I buy the series for. That make sense to you?

No, just because they've never been a feature before and that would have never been something to buy the games for. Now that they're in, I'm not buying the games for those inclusions. I just think writing them off entirely is a bit hasty,

I thought that at first, but if it's any indication the opinion on smashboards has gone to more of a "wait and see" approach in regards to custom movesets. Folks seem to be considering their potential for an amazing metagame more.

I was sorta hyped for Shulk and I love Xenoblade, but honestly I think he's probably the most dull character from that game's roster of heroes. Oh well.

Not that this is in anyway accurate but I noticed with the leaked roster there were a few characters who seemed like they were in an odd spot(ignoring the whole Yoshi debacle). In particular, Mr. G&W, R.O.B., and Duck Hunt Dog seemed like they were in odd spots given the theme. However, I noted if Wolf and Mewtwo were to join the roster they could push Duck Hunt Dog and R.O.B. to the bottom row which would seem more appropriate for the theme. Also there is room in the second to last row for one more character possibly either Lucas or Chorus Kids. Although that theory of trying to guess what the missing characters are using this method is faulty at best since that would mean another Mario, Yoshi or Wario series rep to push Mr. G&W to the bottom with Duck Hunt Dog and R.O.B. and we already have enough Mario characters as it is for this iteration (although I wouldn't necessarily complain if Toad made it in since he deserves it). Also it would mean DK, Zelda and Metroid slots are all filled and those three series are among the most popular requests for more series representation from the west. So I highly doubt it's a good method to use since when the final 5 characters are unlocked(if there are any left) they could completely re-arrange the entire roster to make it work. I guess I just want Mewtwo to return and Wolf returning would be cool as well.

As for the rumored cut characters(Ice Climbers, Wolf, Lucas and Snake) I'm slightly disappointed but I cant say their presence really effected my enjoyment of previous Smash titles either way. It stinks for people who mained them but there were all from series I had little attachment to and two of them offered little in gameplay uniqueness. I'll probably miss Wolf and Ice Climbers the most but it's not that big of a deal.

The mains are characters I play the most and plan to play as the most, as I don't really solely focus on any one character.

Well aside from the controls being an acquired taste, I also felt the game's difficulty was way too high. Even in the medium difficulty the computers kicked my ass in the later leagues. I never unlocked all the characters I think.

Also, yeah. Mario Basketball has one of my favorite Mario songs of all time.

Boss Doggie

all my loli wolf companions are so moe
So wait, with the locked characters apparently ousted, there's still hope for Lucas, IC and Wolf right?

It's easy to look at any given shortcoming and say, "It would've been so simple," but all of the other things they have to do add up, like the fact they had to rebuild most of Brawl's roster, and build all of the new characters, and balance them according to the new system, and get them all running well on two platforms (3DS and WiiU)... Al of this, while also tending to the art and design and modeling and programming needs of stages and assist trophies and trophies and Smash Run and so on and so forth. I trust Sakurai had good reasons for what he did, and it wasn't apathy to the fans or trying to take shortcuts.
I'm sure there are absolutely valid reasons to make cuts. I'm not mad at Sakurai or his team.

But when cuts have to be made, maybe some choices are better than others. Fire Emblem is getting two great newcomers and a lot of recognition as of lately, cutting Ike wouldn't bother me nearly as much as Lucas.

Maturity, bitches.
Jr trailer should clearly start with a battle between Mario and Bowser, maybe even closely referencing a classic battle between them. Then Peach and Luigi pop in to assist Mario so it's three against one when boom boom bullet bills are flying, who's at the door? It's Bowser Jr!

The Royal Koopa line is as strong as ever.
