It's great, though I honestly wouldn't mind a new writer with Noto still on board with his amazing art. I wish things moved faster, Edmondson is doing fine though, just wish there was a little more fun in the book like NTGYK has said.

Any of you guys fans of Majorie Liu's short run on Black Widow, with the arc The Name of The Rose? I would love it if Marvel gave Liu another shot, with their renewed focus on female creators you'd think they would want her back.
Agreed. I'm starting to find Edmonson's writing a little empty. Not bad or anything just lacking any sort of spark.

A Liu and Noto book however, would be stunning.

"Never stop yelling at me." The sweetest and most beautiful line of dialogue in comics history.

Welcome to the fold.

I would never have thought that he could write such hilarious comics, but after reading the Mallah/Brain and Beard Hunter issues of Doom Patrol and Vimanarama this past week, I've discovered a whole new side of Morrison.
Now I really want him to do a full-on comedy series.

Just finished the Captain America hardcover vol 4 ending with #21. Remender is really putting Steve through some shit in this book.

Is this book ending when Captain America & The Mighty Avengers starts or will they run concurrently?

The book ends with #25 in October, it concludes everything Remender has building towards with Zola and Jet and its then its gonna start fresh with #1 in November with Falcon-Cap, Old Steve Rogers, Nomad(Cap/Zola's son from Dimension Z) and Stuart Immonen on art duties. Suppose to be a big Hydra plot.

Oh OK it's back now.

For those of you who enjoy him Grant Morrison was on the second most recent nerdist podcast talking about comics.

Shit. Immonen on Cap...awesome thanks.

Brubaker's run is my favourite Marvel book ever, this certainly isn't quite as good but I'm looking forward to where it's going in a break from the norm kinda way.

Dr. Mindbubble was pretty hilarious though I dug him a lot.

Justice League United #4 alone justifies the selfie variants. It's so adorable. Based Emanuela can do no wrong.

Oh, and the issue was fun.

It's so amazing. I'm so glad that I managed to get one of the two final copies that my store had in stock. Everyone should be reading that book.

So has anyone read Grant Morrison's Zenith?
I'd forgotten that it was getting re-released, but I just saw that the hardcover is coming out in October. I'm intrigued.

Edit: Hey Zombine, just saw this in the Dark Horse Hardcover thread in the CBR forums regarding IST orders of Hellboy taking forever:

1st Response by Employee:

Hi,

We received more copies of everything except Hellboy Library Edition HC Vol 4. We keep getting more in stock everyday but there are a lot of customers waiting for this title. We give them to whomever placed their orders first. We will ship this order as soon as possible.

2nd Response by Co-Owner:

Hi,

We apologize for the delay. Our distributor has been having software issues and they have had delays filling product for us. We have received daily shipments as normal, but many items are not sent that have been ordered, which has caused the delay with your order. We also just recently moved our warehouse to Memphis, TN to cut our transit time from the distributor’s warehouse in situations like this, but their software issue has thwarted our efforts to tighten our turn around. Having said that, they expect to resolve their issues shortly.

I have marked your order to be shipped tomorrow even if Vol 4 does not arrive. I will send you a follow up email if it does not arrive, and will give you my best guess as to when we can expect it if it does not.

Again, please accept our sincerest apologies for the delay and we really appreciate your patience.

Thanks Messi for the Nerdist Grant Morrison podcast, it's fantastic.

He's a fascinating dude. Makes me wanna read his Batman.

Also I couldn't stop laughing when he said "nobody can die, you can do your best to kill off Robin.... But he will be back in 10 issues time. Death is meaningless in this universe"

I didn't know about the suicide page from All Star Superman actually saving someone in real life. That's really awesome.

Whaaat-- you haven't read his Batman? You really should. Batman and Robin with Dick and Damian was so so good.

And ASS is the GOAT.

You would like the documentary on YouTube called Talking with Gods.

Edit - I'm rereading AS Superman after the JSA Omnibus.

Yo, CHESKA. Thanks again for th Talking Comics podcast recommendation. So nice to hear a podcast who is equal opportunity in taking publishers to task for shit. I'm enjoying it.

Just catching up on Black Science goddamn, its fucking amazing.

But guys, is okay for me to like Kadir lol

Yeah you can like Kadir. It just makes you a human monster. ;) I put him in the same category of the Doctor from Lost in Space or Londo from Babylon 5. He's an asshole you love to hate.

Seems like its more a nod to all the reboot chatter going on right now rather than an admission of that's what they are planning. He's just having a bit of fun.
Thats what I am thinking. A person in his position jut doesnt slip something lile this.

He wants generate interest in the Event. Even the Solcis for the Time Runs Out
Trades doesnt sound like reboot, they rather sound like start of a new Arch.

I decided to wait one, two weeks before buying the X-Statix Omnibus. For this price, I will buy it, but before that, I want to finish at least my Annihilation Omnibus.

Have not read much, but the reviews I hear from others are not overwhelmingly positive.

The latter half deals with the
Superman Revenge Squad literally living inside Superman's brain, and then him defeating a 5th Dimensional being by everyone across time believing in him.
Or something.

Finally finished this weeks comics:

Batman Eternal #21 I just dig Fabok's Batman. He always looks like he will seriously fuck shit up if you mess with him.

Batman Superman #13 Even without any letters I would still get this just to look at the pretty pictures.

Harley Quinn #10 What the heck is even happening?

Low #2 So pretty. I have the feeling this is going to be epic. Probably my favourite of current ongoing Remender books already.

Outcast #3 Mostly setup instead of plot progression. Still like the atmosphere and mood very much.

Saga #22 Well...
King Robot was awesome. In the first moment I thought it was a dude without a head standing in front of a huge picture and then I saw it and laughed out loud :D The fight at the end was underwhelming though. It felt so forced. "Get away from my house", seriously?

Secret Origins #5 I haven't read Red Hood (I mean, who has?) so it was interesting to get a summary of Todd's origin in the New52 universe.

The Manhattan Projects #23 It's amazing how Hickman can handle all this silliness without going full retard. Still great.

Wayward #1 Yea, no. This is not for me.

I'll give JLU 4 a read, but are the previous issues as good?

It's taken a few issues for Lemire to really get a feel for the team dynamic. It starts off as sort of a weird mish mash that doesn't really feel believable but issue #4 is, to me, where I feel it's all coming together. Buddy and Oliver budding friendship feels real. The interaction between Kara and Courtney, the protectiveness that Jonn has for Ultra, it's all great.

So no, the previous issues aren't as great but I'd still recommend them if you wanna get into the series.

How is Grant Morrison's Action Comics?
Most of it harkens back to 1938-era Supes. His powers are stunted and he's mostly dealing with human issues and crime. Then shit hits the fan and then he's dealing with Brainiac and 5th-dimensional beings. My favorite scene in the run is Superman jumping into escape velocity for the first time to board Brainiac's ship.

He wasn't sure he could even reach the ship. He didn't even know if he could keep his breath. His shoes exploded from jumping so hard. It only lasted for like 8 issues, but Rookie Superman is just fun to read.

(I can't find a scan of the actual jump, but here's part of it)

As for the 5th-Dimesional Imp arc, use the Star Trek TNG episode "All Good Things..." as a guideline. That's basically all it is except a few other twists in the non-linearity.

I'm sure this isn't a popular opinion but I really loved the most recent Batwoman issue.
sure it's shitty that DCs mandate is pushing them away from Kate and Maggie getting married, but I really believe that this path will end a some point in the future with them being married. I wonder if they will say if she is married in the futures end issue next month.

The nocturna stuff is really cool to me as is all of the different assassins playing off each other. Kate being a vampire for a while is not a twist I expected but I look forward to reading it. It will lead to more awesome Rafael Albuquerque covers then I am all for it. That last page was hot Btw :p

I loved both art styles in the book this month, the fight scene in particular was nice.

Well according to Future's End, five years from now Kate is still
a vampire
.

Solicit for Batwoman Future's End:
Now a creature of the night, Batwoman turns against her former lover, Nocturna, in final, deadly conflict!

Yeah, I am down for that. It's something different.

I'll be stunned if dc keep
Kate a vampire for that long or even going forward
