Could be an unpopular opinion, but Final Fantasy XIII
Super Castlevania IV. Pretty nice soundtrack, really mediocre Castlevania.
Great example. Honestly, this game was ass. (no pun intended)
Style over substance, and I did buy it because of the soundtrack but god was the game dull and uninteresting.
You should put the giant image in a quote box. I was going to mention Curse too, but with a link to Mortvia Aqueduct instead.http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20140615065448/castlevania/images/8/8b/Curseofdarknessbox.jpg

I thought they had a lot of good ideas but never really solidified them. If they could streamline the combo system, make it easier and quicker to swap thing, it could be really fun. As it is I found myself jumping into the menu to change things every time I had to fight a different enemy type and it really disrupted the flow of the game.
The soundtrack really is worth listening to though.
Dark Void and SOCOM 4 - Bear McCreary keeps delivering great scores (AMAZING in the case of Dark Void) for unworthy games.

I was wondering if anyone has come across games that they just can't get into, and yet have such an amazing soundtrack that you actively try to see the good in it, even though it's not your cup of tea.
For me:
Assassin's Creed II and Jesper Kyd's music.
In my opinion this game is not nearly as well realized as the music, or the music is in a class of its own. I fucking love it. Can't get enough of it, and I could never get into the game for various reasons.
Yeah, I really like Lords of Shadow as well so I refrained from mentioning it, but it has what I would say is my favorite soundtrack of last gen. It's an amazing score. While I thoroughly enjoyed this game, it's soundtrack was a class apart.

Minecraft.
Super Castlevania IV. Pretty nice soundtrack, really mediocre Castlevania.
Chrono Cross - the game is good (not as good as Trigger, in my opinion) - but the OST is absolutely amazing!

There was an option to playback all the sound effects in the game, and it included the music - actually made a "mix-tape" back in the day that included my favorites!

DOTA 2's new music pack outclasses the game's meta
