Vita version still coming? Microsoft is giving the handheld more support than Sony.
Still support Playstation/ios/android?
Bravo Microsoft
Notch is going to cash in his shares and become a very, very rich man. Whodathunkit?
This feels like the Rare purchase all over again.
Looking forward to what these guys create next (if they're still interested in making games). The founders: Notch, Carl, and Jakob are leaving.
Yup.Notch won
The founders: Notch, Carl, and Jakob are leaving. We dont know what theyre planning. It wont be Minecraft-related but it will probably be cool.
Pretty sure the support of the Playstation versions is purely because of past contracts signed between Mojang and them. Minecraft 2 or any future stuff, do not expect any support on those systems at all.
I wonder if Sony will be bothered that Minecraft is a Microsoft published game...or this could be a bridge that leads to a more close relationship between the console makers.
It will still be available.
Read carefully and they said nothing about future on going support.
That doesn't sounds to me like a drop support in future games..At Microsoft, we believe in the power of content to unite people. Minecraft adds diversity to our game portfolio and helps us reach new gamers across multiple platforms. Gaming is the top activity across devices and we see great potential to continue to grow the Minecraft community and nurture the franchise. That is why we plan to continue to make Minecraft available across platforms – including iOS, Android and PlayStation, in addition to Xbox and PC.

It's still taking down servers on PSN and is still #1 on XBL/PSN. Get real.
Hmmm

Eh, it's fine.
Skype is a MS property that's on Vita as well.

The Minecraft teams unique vision, creative energy and innovative mindset make them a perfect fit alongside our other global studios. Microsoft Studios includes 343 Industries, Turn 10 Studios, and Lionhead Studios just to name a few.
Smart move.

What about the other editions of Minecraft? Will they stop being developed?
Theres no reason for the development, sales, and support of the PC/Mac, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, Vita, iOS, and Android versions of Minecraft to stop. Of course, Microsoft cant make decisions for other companies or predict the choices that they might make in the future.
