This is how Nomura scores with the ladies I guess.

"What would you be willing to do to watch the latest footage of FFXV ?"

Why are people so desperate for bite-sized information being "leaked" from random places in languages they cannot even read? I don't understand. It's just a videogame, and when there's information to be shared it will be shared with the public. I can understand why people get excited over trailers and stuff if they look good, but to basically crawl all over the floor and lick the dirt on it trying to find some crumb of information or clue which might indicate that a game might or might not be at a public event which starts in just a day is sort of... I dunno... pathetic?

apparently the FFXV trailer is in english, so, there's that.

Nah, fans are trying to generate hype. Nothing wrong with that, nor is it pathetic.

At this point aliens beaming down actually feels potentially more likely than this game breaking its deadlock.

Usually I'd agree with you, but it's been a very long time since we last saw a great proper single-player Final Fantasy game. People are desperate for anything.

True. It's been a while since a compelling SP FF title was released.

God FFXII:IZJS was amazing.

Try having fun.

For me it's about moving on from this game. I just know whenever it comes out, I'm gonna herald it on top with Ōkami and Persona 4. Even if the game sucks.

I think it's fine to be excited, especially since the TGS site implies that Square Enix has announcements they didn't make at the previous conference. What I'm talking about is how the internet has this unfiltered desire to try and find meaning in every source of random information. A random tweet? By someone no one knows? In a language no one reading it could understand? Using Google translate?

Passion and excitement for a hobby can be healthy, but when it is combined with obsessive behavior that is completely uninformed, it is extremely stupid and does no one any good!

because we've been waiting 8 years

So what's another day? Tomorrow TGS opens and everyone will know for certain if FFXV is there. And if it is, we can then talk about what they have shown in a more productive way! That's all I'm saying!

Geez people are so sensitive. I'm just kidding. Yes, indies are games, but many people don't seem to think so.

But yeah I think the announcements will be for indie games and not some big AAA megaton.

You always troll sony threads with this indie nonsense no wonder people get sensitive.

Well that's how the game got a dedicated fan base years ago..That's not about to change now.

Thats how people found about ROEN "mistake" last year and most other stuff related to the game.

I don't think its pathetic but it indicates that Square Enix is getting a lot more passion than they deserve....or maybe its earned cuz the game will amazing.

V2 Tokyo is some sort of vip lounge:

Maybe that lady is high-status and gets to hang out with staff, I have no idea

righhttt....I guess there seems to be some private-TGS event there.Still seems ridiculously unlikely.

I think there's just already a split on this - there was largely boundless excitement and hype for 13 in the face of some troubling questions for a long time (never forget the boundless enthusiasm, even from resident naysayer Kagari, in this thread for the 2009 Advent Children BluRay demo, where people paid more than the cost of full games just to play twenty minutes) but I think at this point the silliness has worn on so long that you've got a few groups; there's of course those resilient enough to still be incredibly hungry and excited who would go for such a demo again. However, what wasn't nearly as present with FF13 is that there's now those still salty over things they didn't like about the Lightning Trilogy or those who have been made jaded by the wait and thus simply don't believe SE can deliver. On top of that, there's a group who aren't ecstatic about the KH-ish look of the combat we've seen so far. It's already a polarizing game in that sense... so you're going to get these comments, I guess.

It'll be interesting, really, to see if the game can shrug off all this baggage when the time comes for SE to market and hype it. FF13 had an incredible ramp, all things told - the buzz and feeling around that game in 2009 was really a marketers dream. I think it's a much steeper incline for them to climb with 15.

The game has been in development hell longer than The Last Guardian, and the mainline FF series has been a series of disappointments from XII and onward (not counting the bizarre vacuum where FFXIV exists and is actually great).

Of the very few times Square has bothered to show the game, it has never not appeared promising. The setting, the characters, the music, the gameplay concepts....it all sounds great now as it did 8 years ago.

It would be nice, after all that time, to have actual video coverage that isn't a concept render or the same beginning area they've shown over and over, and instead gives us some indication of how the actual game would look.

Plus, it would be nice to know that development actually is progressing in a normal pace and the game actually might not take another five years or whatever dumb estimate people make out of jest.

There's only so many times you can point and laugh at Square Enix for their continued delays of what has been their most promising-looking Final Fantasy in the last decade. The joke's run its course, now it's time to actually get excited again.

What if the game isn't so great?

Then why be hyped for the game at all? I'm not gonna look forward to a game assuming it's gonna be bad.

It's okay to be excited and to expect great things from something. If we expected it to be bad, we wouldn't be looking forward to it and be excited by it. It's a two way street.

What if the game isn't so great?

Give me Crisis Core level of quality and I would be fine, and by CC level of quality I mean " a badly action-RPG-RNG based battle system with dozens of copy-paste missions while defiling the VII plot and characters" level of quality

To clarify, when I say that it is pathetic to be licking the dirt on the floor in desperation, I'm specifically referring to going after unsourced Tweets in Japanese by unknown people to find some sort of validation. I don't think that's necessary, especially given that there isn't really any information there. Let's think about this logically. It tells us nothing. Everyone will still need to wait a day to know if any of it is true. So why not just chill and wait a day without thinking about something that adds nothing to the picture?
