I really want to see the new IP from Guerrilla Games. It has the possibility of being similar to Monster Hunter and would make sense for a TGS reveal.

Not if you're trying to inject some momentum into the only region lagging behind. The PS4 is breaking records WITHOUT Japan. Can you imagine what would happen if Japan suddenly embraced the PS4 in the same way the west has?

People say consoles are dead in Japan ... Well we'll find out by the end of next year. By giving the Japanese some respect (offering exclusive reveals), it could go some way to re-energising the Japanese market.

Look at the OP's link. They fixed it and disclosed that it is something related to Bloodborne. I understand it because that also caused massive buzz in Japan so they fixed the page before it gets ugly.

They did. Persona 5 coming to PS4 will probably move more units of the PS4 than a Guerrilla Game announcement ever will.

New IP+Western devs? Have the Japanese consumer market shown an attraction to that?

I say Sony and other devs have been trying though. Ys for PS4/Vita, Disgaea 5 exclusively to PS4, Senran Kagura Estival Versus (PS4/Vita) are some good examples of how they are trying to attract more to the PS4 platform.

However, Japanese people lead busy lifes, and some wouldn't even have the time for console gaming other than handheld devices while traveling on the train to and fro work/school. That's why the gaming industry had seen a shift to mobile games and stuff. Sony's task isn't easy.

I just read Shinobi's comment so I'm more convinced they do have something indeed. Let's see they decide to show it during this TGS or not.

Well, IGN already reported that they got to play a PS4 game that hasn't been announced yet
