Could someone give me a basic breakdown of the Queen's Wrath event? Is it just another bounty vendor or can you do an unlimited number of bounties per day for the duration of the event?

It's not capping the marks that's the trouble, it's capping them at a ridiculously low number which is ridiculous. 200 fucking marks.

True, though I think a cap is just strange in general(same with glimmer). I was trying to save up for multiple weapons but I guess that's not gonna happen.

Forgive me if these questions have been asked: (Queen Related)

1. Do I need to do the mission after completing the bounty, or can I wait and complete all 6 bounties then do the 6 story missions?

2. Do I need to play the story missions at a certain level to guarantee a legendary?

3. (Non-Destiny) How do you get a notification when people quote you? I could have sworn there was an option for this.

I'll be on around 6:30pm ET tonight after I get home from the office. I am looking for 1-2 peeps to roll through the Queen's Bounty quests/bounties/missions. Add me and hit me up if you want to join up.

How do I do the Queen's mission? It's grayed out for me in the mission select screen, and I'm level 25.

what? don't misunderstand what this means for your character. he's... exactly in the same place. spend your marks... if you have no need of armor buy the cheap pieces and dismantle for ascendant shards.

the cap sucks because 200 seems crazy low, but it will not stop you from progressing your level, which is the entirety of what I'm talking about in my guides.

I do legitimately feel bad for anyone who hit 200 marks before even getting to vanguard (or Crucible) rank 2. I didn't even realize that was possible honestly, but it sucks because they can't spend to get under the cap. I hope you guys are doing every bounty you can :)

Yeah but it's a big deal if you rolled with a faction. Even if I switched back to Vanguard right now, I might still hit the cap before I level Vanguard up to Level 2 so I can keep buying legendaries.

Thanks so much for the heads up about the vanguard Mark cap at 200... Now I'll spend some marks I guess :/

I'm going to have to throw my initial idea of saving up marks to buy lots of weapons when I reach rank 3 out of the window now, and just buy the vanguard gear when I reach rank 2, even though I already have a full set of legendary gear from my faction.

Fucking ridiculous.

Yeah, Destiny has a ton of contrived blockade's of progression. It's obvious this game was designed to not allow people to get much out of binge playing. They want you to slowly replay through content since there isn't a lot.
I don't really know about that... I've done an awful lot of it since launch and I'm closing in on 28. now, there is a LIMIT on how much you can accomplish through binge playing, absolutely. if you think that limit is too strict, that's a perfectly valid criticism.

I... can't imagine playing Destiny more on any given than I have been so far, personally. And I haven't progressed as far as I could have by this point if I'd been really hardcore about it either.
Come now, not even you can defend something as silly as a 200 mark cap.

You can't even get gear for your alts(Except weapons). And use it for resources? It's a waste of marks for that. Easier to go find the daily events and grind that each day.
"the cap sucks"

this is what defending things sounds like apparently

Did they change it so that you cannot buy gear from the other Vanguard class vendors, or not?

Waste of marks is a silly way to describe it; I'm saying spend your marks so new earnings don't get wasted. Ascendant shards are always valuable

I think I get you, you switched to a faction right away, but are primarily PvE? you're stuck with vanguard marks but no way to spend them? That definitely sucks. How far are you from rank 2?

Posting for new page. Need 3 more people:

I'm putting together a group for Nightfall and then the Raid, hopefully starting tonight around 5:00 Central.

Lvl 27-28 preferred, but 26 is fine if we need the players.

PSN is Rogo. PM here, or send a friend request on PSN.

I'm pretty sure it is to prevent you from having a shit ton saved up down the road when more items are introduced to purchase with these resources.

It doesn't really do much to prevent actual item progression.

This is how I feel. I rolled with Dead Orbit, so I don't have an issue with crucible marks, however it'd take a good while for me to grind out Vangaurd exp(Can I even do that for PvP? Would I need to stick to Patrols and Vanguard Bounties?).

Holy crap I just realized, I don't think Vanguards even have a Mark to be able to grind PVP with.

Rehash missions for the Queen's event, half ass social features, and ridiculous caps plus more.

This game is getting less of my time...was fun up to Level 26 now this is just a chore. Perhaps this "endgame" stuff isn't for me. Even if it was, no matchmaking for Story Missions, Daily Story, Weekly Strike is such a dumb decision.

Sorry for the vent.

I'm pretty sure Vanguard vendors need to be at Level 2 for me to do that though, so my concern still stands.

Holy shit - I just went into 3 strikes where the other players refused to move/go to the objective.

And the wonders of a lack of any communication between randoms means I can't ask them what the f*ck is going on. Ugh, jesus Bungie. I'm 40 hours in, about to hit 27 and am obsessively playing the game but I keep wondering why.

Do the queen bounties/missions. You'll get a legendary helmet likely.

But its not guaranteed tho. With vanguard im guaranteed a legendary helm.

Still would do Queens shit for the ass shards, just wish I could get vanguard rep when doing so. I don't need much more vanguard rep though, the current vanguard bounties should seal the deal.

[edit] Yeah, if you go for a faction first, that makes sense can have zero Vanguard. Wow, Bungie. So really, NOT going Vanguard first is stupid and the game punishes you hard for it.

Although, since it's day 1, if you guys get to rank 2 this week, it doesn't hold previously earned marks against you, right? Like if you spend some and go down, can still earn 100 more..?

Wait, you mean don't jump down that giant pit at all? I didn't realize the boss would even spawn without that.

Yeah, this doesn't help me solo it at all. I want to solo it like I did all three of the last weeklies. That splash that the boss does is insane, though, so I imagine it hurts on Heroic.

lol @ some of those Queen's Bounties.. "Kill Riksis"? Hmm, ok. I piled on more bounties so I got the "30 Melee without Dying" and "Kill 20 enemies without taking damage" as well while doing that Cosmodrome mission. Sorted it something like 10 minutes.

I only popped into the Tower to look at the bounties before heading off to work, but what is the Queen's Wrath quest? Is there a story mission quest also or are people using "quest" and "bounty" interchangeably.

That Hunter cloak from her vendor is kind of cool though, and I like me some shaders.

Technically they're all a Vanguard Mark. A Faction Mark (and they need to not call those things "marks" when marks are already the name of a currency, this sentence is gonna be super fucking confusing) just replaces your plain Mark. If you want to get Vanguard rep, take off your Faction Mark and replace it with a non-Faction Mark.

The queens wrath stuff is such a waste of time. After finishing the raid last night I literally have nothing to do other than grind.

I cant help but feel like a lot of this stuff is designed to keep players grinding for gear/light levels as long as possible. 100 marks per week max, taking forever to level reputation, 200 cap (so you cant hoard marks and spend on a new char), etc. It took me about 150 vanguard marks worth of grinding to even reach rep 2 of my faction anyhow, the majority were bounties and strikes.

I don't even buy that as a possible explanation. Characters don't share marks and Rahool has given me plenty of legendary armor for the other two classes. 2 pieces for a Titan and a full set for Warlock. Weapons can be shared, so anything that hurts alts hurts my main.

what? don't misunderstand what this means for your character. he's... exactly in the same place. spend your marks... if you have no need of armor buy the cheap pieces and dismantle for ascendant shards.

Yeah, I'm still a quarter bar below level 2. I stopped bothering with rep when my marks capped figuring I'd just wait until the reset. I'm not saying that buying stuff isn't a valid route, but hot damn they don't make it easy to want to.

why are people still messing with the cave when we have 6 guaranteed legendaries today?
why play the lottery, when you have a sure thing?

Well the issue is that the in game mission details for the Raid say "rewards" making it seem guaranteed. And the fact that you NEED the raid gear to get to level 30 makes it even worse, since there is no other avenue. I feel like I will be stuck at 28 forever.

I have a feeling the next dlc content pack will introduce level 30 light vender gear. There's no way they can expect people to grind the raid in the hope of finding the raid gear.

Oh, the mark caps are basically nerfing poopsockers.

Not everyone can devote as much free time to destiny as others. It's given the people with a full time job and other responsibilites a chance not to be outclassed.

Has sniping been nerfed in most FPS games now? It's almost useless with the sprint mechanic. I'll I can do is camp near areas that have a clear view of spawning ammo pick ups and places where the players has no choice but to run towards me or a way from me directly.

It's weird alright that it require Queen's Rep 2 for some lvl 20 blues, they seem OK but by the time you've ground all that rep out you've probably gotten a better legendary or at least an equivalent rare.

I think the rep accumulates faster than you might expect. I only turned in one of the bounties (kill Riksis) and netted 100 rep for it.

I wound up doing it in a lvl 24 vanguard playlist last night, the splash was manageable if you hide on the raised area but dealing with the mobs of Vex that spawned every 15-20% of health was less so.

Edit to clarify I didn't solo this not that 'leet :)

That's the thing though, you can't change Crucible rep into Vanguard rep. That's how I mainly grinded my Dead Orbit rep(And turning in the Crucible/Vanguard bounties), so basically it's a one way transition. Which sucks, cause PvP was the fastest way to increase rep for Dead Orbit atleast.

To spend your Vanguard marks absolutely. I'm really sorry and I hope you don't hit the cap before you can rank up (or lose out on as few marks as possible anyway). Bungie screwed you on this one no doubt, since we didn't know about the cap beforehand.

I guess I should have stressed in my guide that unless you are a PvP-primary (or PvP-exclusive) player, getting Vanguard to Rank 2 should almost definitely be your first step in terms of Reputation.

No, the only thing doing that is the weekly cap. The 200 cap generally won't affect those people until there is no progression left in the vendor items or their disassembled resources.

kinda fucked. this faction would have been helpful at launch, not now after two weeks of grinding the cave and other shit.

It depend on the game . In destiny sniping sucks since most of the maps are way to small to use it well. But in game like Bf4 and cod it great.

That's correct. You need to do PVE stuff for Vanguard, yeah.

If the bounties reset daily I can see that but with no class flag if they don't who knows how long it'll take, I wonder how many 'tickets' from the queens bounty you can hold? I mean if it's intended for <lvl 20 chars then it would be a shame if you just had to just discard the tickets for missions you haven't a hope of doing
