what? game and watch isn't on Wii U. and snake could very well come back to handheld platforms. So either you're talking about consoles or both. Either way it seems you're just not thinking clearly and letting bias affect your opinion.

Also where does Pacman fit? You can't make up an arbitrary rule for inclusion that doesn't even make sense given other characters in the game orc that have been in the game.

Pac-Man just released a game on Wii U and 3DS, and is about to release a sequel to that game in a few weeks, again, on Wii U and 3DS. Show me the last new and original Metal Gear Solid game that was released on Nintendo hardware.

It's not really an arbitrary rule. Snake would not have even been in Smash if Kojima's song didn't whine about wanting to use him.... Kojima's son is the reason he is in Smash, not because the character was actually worthy to join. There isn't so much an arbitrary rule as it's more so a "Why.... is Snake... of all potential 3rd Party reps.... being chosen?"

During Greninja's reveal trailer my brain went Mewtwo -> Goemon -> Greninja. Somehow I thought Goemon was more plausible. An Impact final smash with the theme would be killer.

Game and Watch is tied into Nintendo's history in the early hardware designs, so your argument isn't really holding up. Smash Bros is a celebration of Nintendo as a whole; from characters, to franchises, to hardware, and acts as an occasional reminder once a console generation that Nintendo has amassed a history and mythos nearly as vast as some of the older civilizations.

And here's a pretty simple way to rationalize Pac-Man; ask any person that knows little to nothing about games before the mobile and indie boom, and odds are they'd know two names; Mario and Pac-Man. Pac-Man is a Representative of the bygone era of the arcade, and Mario has proven himself to be the Mickey Mouse of gaming. Same way Mega-Man represented it's genre and created a legacy (although I am forced to admit I'm not as savvy to it as others), or how Sonic represents the once-heated console wars of the 90s.

No one would've requested Snake if he wasn't in Brawl either. Sonic and Mega Man, on the other hand...hell, I'm sure Pac-Man would've been thought of before Snake.

The thing that everyone forgets about snake is that he made it into smash already. Regardless of Nintendo relevancy and what other theories or formulas people want to present. Sure kojima and sakurai being friends was the most contributing factor but at the end of the day he was already there. So him coming back isn't a stretch now. Especially when he's in the same status he was when he got in brawl.

Plus if you want to play the history angle if it wasn't for NES metal gear and kojima wanting to make up for those. We might not even have had the series we know and love now .

All in all you don't have to like snake in smash but considering he was already there you have to cut him some slack. It's not like the fans are some huge movement that are arguing about wanting him in the game for the first time.

No way this happens. DLC is not going to be exclusive to any system. Sakurai isn't gonna break his game up like that, don't be ridiculous. Its going to have roster parity just like the base game. The only thing that will be exclusive to the New 3DS is Miiverse.

Metal Gear is a cool series. I hate Snake in Smash though because Metal Gear barely comes to Nintendo at all. At the same time I feel bad for the people who lost Snake as playable character though. I have complex emotions on this subject.

DLC is coming and was always going to come. This is the birth and era of Nintendo DLC! Or maybe Pokemon started it all back in the day. What ever the case there is no way it's not going to happen.

Nintendo is just too DLC happy in a fair and reasonable way to let something like Smash slip by. What have we gotten since this gen started as far as main line established IP's?

3DS
NSMB2
Fire Emblem Awakening
Mario Golf
Mii games whatever they are called.

Wii U
NSMBU/LU
Pikmin 3
Mario Kart 8
Hyrule Warriors
Sonic(with all that Nintendo themed stuff)

That's just the top of my head and Smash was never going to pass up the extra cash.

I'm pretty sure Roy would need to be an Ike costume. He's a power hitter like Ike, not a fencer like Marth/Lucina.

I kind of feel bad for Spainkiller. I believe he genuinely thought his source was legitimate, apparently based on the fact that he called the rest of the ESRB leak before it was all out even though all the information he cited was available from a previous leak that predated the ESRB reveal.

I am guessing it was because Konami isn't pushing that kind of Snake anymore, the Snake they are pushing isn't on Nintendo systems, they likely can't reuse Hayter's clips without his agreement and those bridges are well and truly burned.

I don't think it was "Snake isn't Nintendo" or "We didn't have time to put Snake in." I assume that it's "We can't."

That's what I would figure as well.
Though it makes Kojimas comment of "please use snake" even odder. Since if that was the case and there were no ties who could flat out say no. Since nothing would be tying him from doing so.

Mario Kart 8 DLC had a ton of content and was priced extremely fair, if smash bros dlc is comparable to that then Nintendo can take my money

Its a possibility but there would definitely be a 3DS level maker mode. Since no way larger levels could be supported.

Meh, not surprised at all really. I would expect Nintendo to release new levels and fighters. Now it's just a question of price. If they price 8 maps and 6 characters for 12$ on Mario Kart 8, then Two Fighters and one map would probably go for 8$ since fighters are more complicated and levels are also pretty complicated to do. I also hope it's cross buy. Like, if you buy Ice Climbers on the 3DS, you wont have to buy it on the Wii U too.

I have no issue with Snake. It's just that's it's clear its one rep per company and Konami's rep should be Simon Belmont. If Snake comes back that kills Simon's chances. I doubt the next Smash will go to two characters per third-party.

I want Snake dead so Simon can live one day.

I'm still hoping Snake's free surprise DLC that comes in unannounced alongside an innocuous update.

As for Rayman, as much as Ubisoft has been repeatedly disrespecting Nintendo, I like Ancel and Rayman, so it'd be cool to see Rayman in, and even better if it means we get levels from Origins/Legends!

Just... Please. Don't even acknowledge the Rabbids.

I wouldnt mind the Rabbids being in as a Trophy. Like Nintendo dogs they would just there annoying and hiding the battlefield yelling AHHHHH
