Gaming feats... Is this even possible???

So there's videos of a kid who played through Ninja Gaiden II without getting a scratch on the hardest difficulty. here... I thought the game was pretty hard on normal settings and ridiculously difficult on any setting above that. Is what this kid accomplished one of gamings greatest achievements because I'm beyond impressed by this. What do you guys feel is a great gaming feat that should be greatly respected and appreciated. I can't see anything beating this.

The best Yoshi's Island speed-run by mt76907(?) is an incredible feat of dexterity. A lot of runners of the game are incredible.

certain speedruns come to mind... they basically are a long list of actions, that have to be done in a certain and very specific way. one screwup and you can forget a good time.

cosmos 18:10 oot run for example.

I used to play the original Super Mario Bros blindfolded.

I sometimes even made it past the first goomba.

And they made him a Lord of Cinder. Not for virtue, but for might. Such is a lord, I suppose. But here I ask. Do we have a sodding chance?
Diablo 3

So why did I never play NG2? That looks amazing.

Pretty impressive, even though it's segmented. I can see how this is possible--probably studied the shit out of the AI and learned to take advantage of invincibility frames perfectly.

Props for having the patience, NG2 360's difficulty was set to "fuck you" then kicked out the door without much balancing. Wouldn't call it the most impressive gaming feat ever, as I assume it came down to RNG gambling once he finally learned how to do it. What you don't see are the 1000s of attempts it took to get there.

also GAF > Kotaku > GAF. even says in the article "via NeoGAF"

One time when I was a kid my brother and I ran away. While we were at the bus station trying to get tickets to California I played double dragon and scored 50000 points.

That video is Via NeoGAF - so its like a snake eating its own tail here.

I watch a lot of Starcraft 2 games and goddamn some of the things they do look so simple but its unreal how hard it is to actually pull off.

Ninja Gaiden 2 is the type of game where anything can go wrong and it won't play exactly the same way every time.

Master Ninja is brutally hard and enemies don't really mind fucking your shit up from off screen. This guy deserves a medal or something.

You know what I mean..... I nearly shit myself watching the vids. taking no damage is surreal.

most of those Starcraft guys are molded into the game. Going to school for it basically and eating sleeping that game. Still very impressive

Not that much different than this NG2 run where he takes no damage - he just exploits the game at certain points since it never changes. In the final video he is just hanging out in a corner and waiting for the boss to attack. I would almost say this is easier since a real opponent is going to change up their play. Still a ton of shit I could never dedicate my self to now but if I was 18 again I might try it.

His techniques for not taking damage are really impressive. He exploits all possible invulnerability frames, traps enemies in safer locations, as uses the Ultimate attacks often, but I've only watched 20 minutes of it and in some places there aren't any safe spots, yet he still manages no damage.

It's really insane to watch this. More exciting than a speed run because those tend to play out very similarly often times.

It probably helps that this is one of my favorite games ever.

This reminds me that Ninja Gaiden has no business not being on PC.

We've got DmC, Metal Gear Rising, and Batman but no Ninja Gaiden. Come on Tecmo, it's not like you're rolling in money these days.
