Terrible font, but the game actually looks much better than I expected. I'm glad we're getting a version of this for posterity.
11 minutes of new footage of the PS4 version:
Jill gameplay
Chris gameplay
UI seems cleaned up and the graphics aren't half-bad I suppose.
They still need to add in all the music. At least I hope they still need to do that and it won't have that much silence.
It's been awhile since I played the remake. Was that the way the remake on GC was?
lol but then the very next screen you've got stuff like this so I don't know whatever maybe the visuals of the original were actually really inconsistent, we just couldn't tell because it was so low res?
whats the deal with RE0, was that nintendo published or same type deal and we could see a HDversion one day?
Super glad we're finally gonna have a legit version of this game on PC forever.
Can't wait for this.
I think it was one of the lowest selling games in the series and it never really had the following REmake did.
That said, I'd definitely buy a remaster of it on PC.
Still the best costume in any RE game.
I loved the train setting

Can someone tell me why the hell it sounds like there is an echo when she is shooting?
The guns sound fucked
Same with the dog when its chewing on her arm.
Day one, I will be playing this as I've wanted a port for years and who knows maybe if we support this Capcom will finally make REmake 2 and hopefully not fuck it up.
Maybe we'll even get ports of Outbreak 1 and 2.
Putting in a third voice for the train. One of the best areas in RE, right up there with RE4's village.ME TOO. So. Much. Especially when you were walking on top of the train as it was moving. So, so awesome back then. Train was my favorite part of the whole game.

Sadly, I think it's unlikely. RE0 was both one of the worst selling of the franchise and word-of-mouth of it is usually pretty poor. Capcom may not see any point in doing an HD re-release. Whereas REmake on the other hand while not selling great has fantatsic word-of-mouth. If 0 was often praised by people we might've seen it.
If they'll remake zero, put in coop.
That's what I'm thinking. Maybe Capcom didn't lose the source assets afterall and these are the original source files upscaled, whereas the files used in the original game had to be compressed to save disc space.

I think the original source files are resolution-independent and can be scaled without degrading image quality. However, at higher resolutions if there are any flaws they will be more evident.
I can't remember, what is the "proper" way to play? Jill first or Chris?
Not sure what you mean by proper.
Jill has 8 inventory slots and Chris has 6, that's the most important difference.

I gave the video a second look and just everything is very inconsistent.
Some screens are very obviously upscaled, and others seem like they're legitimately higher resolution assets with more detail than was originally present. Then some screens just look bad.
I have no clue what's going on with the port, but what I can tell is that the quality of the backgrounds seems to be all over the place.

As far as the differences in the story, for some reason I thought I remember you should play as Jill first or something but I can't recall exactly why. It's probably nothing. I can't remember.

Ok got it, thanks guys .
Note: The 2015 RE screens are from a game that's still in development. The Wii screens were taken through component cables to provide the most typical result. I then shrank the 2015 screens down a tad so they were the same size as the lower-res Wii screens.

Just looked at the videos, it's really inconsistent. Some background look like really bad upscales while others look pretty sharp.
I'm assuming that their starting point was the upscaled stuff for every room as sort of temporary art in order to get the game running and completely playable, and as the improved ones come down the pipe they are just replacing them. Well, I'm hoping this is the case. Considering they still have plenty of time on the Xbone/PS4/PC versions, I'm hopeful that by the time they are done most if not all will look sharp.
It's still a mystery how they're doing that though. Maybe some are just more upscaled than others? Maybe Capcom did in fact dig up some of the original CG data but not all of it?

I think the inconsistency is just because they haven't updated everything yet. We don't know the assets quality of the original source files either. I mean obviously textures were probably not huge or anything, but 3d object models were probably decent and those would scale up better than what some of the rooms still show.I think you are assuming wrong. As I said, some assets when rendered at high resolutions simply won't look as good as others, giving inconsistent results. This is not a matter of resolution but rather a matter of quality of the source material.
