twitch's fishstix just posted a nice and concise analysis on those vying for a place in the capcom cup through cpt points

Because 10 of the top 16 players who will qualify for Capcom Cup in December will do so by receiving automatic entry from winning a Premier tournament, there are only 6 spots available for folks to qualify with CPT points alone.

Because of this, several players at TFC are right on the bubble for qualifying to CPT's $50,000 finals.

Xian, Snake_Eyez, and K-Brad (to name a few) could all probably clinch a spot if they get top 2 or top 3 at this tournament.

Ricky Ortiz (who went out early in Top 32) is now in danger of losing out on entry to Capcom Cup. It looked as though he was a shoe-in earlier this year, but now that Nishiken has clinched his spot via winning the Taito Nationals and GamerBee has won Red Fight District, he may no longer have enough points to move on.

If, for instance, SnakeEyez or K-Brad get first or second place, Ricky's chances decrease significantly.

Ricky probably wants Xian to win this tournament as Xian already has more points then him anyway. But for Snake Eyez and K-Brad, this may be the last opportunity to qualify.

But remember, any single player who takes first here (regardless of their CPT points) will qualify. Could it be Smug? Could it be Pepeday? Could it be Sanford? Either way, we're about to find out.

Been messing with charizard in smash today. He feels underrated. He has some really good tools specially if you apply standard 2d fighter logic to using him

I agree, though man his recovery is ass now. He really needed glide more than the other characters who lost glide.

That's why I take the risk to vector up a bit with him you can actually use his fire dash move more than once so you can fuck with people

I expressed my excitement about how I love how this was going down to the wire. Was it you who responded to me saying you're glad to know you weren't the only one? Anyways I've loving how close it is towards the end. Their is still Resistance next week in Connecticut. Gamerbee, Xian, and company will continue racking up more points in the Asia Finals. So Ricky, Kbrad, and Snake Eyez better be booking a ticket up North if they don't finish well in this tourney which I see that Ricky is already out.

What are you having trouble with?

I really don't know anymore. It isn't really anything in the game. It is my mentality and playstyle, I think. I don't think enough when playing and good players run rings around me.

At this point it feels like I can't move forward because my head is too screwed up to let me.

It has got to the point where my tournaments are all the same - get knocked out early, sit around bored, occasionally get recognised over that bloody video.

One of the TOs pointed me out to Justin yesterday. Met Justin beforehand on Friday though, nice guy and surprisingly quiet for a FGC guy.

Winners
Xian vs. Rico Suave
iPeru vs. Sanford Kelly
801 Strider vs. Smug
NuckleDu vs. K-Brad

Losers
Pepeday vs. Tampa Bison
PR Balrog vs. CJ Truth
Dieminion vs. FourWude
Snake Eyez vs. Ludovic

Dieminion getting sent to losers earlier is a blessing for Xian. If Xian qualifies here it means that everyone participating in the Asia qualifier has less competition to worry about. Rooting for Pepedai and Smug though.

Are you getting nervous when playing other people? Is it happening when playing casuals, or only during tourney matches? Do you do fine for a couple rounds but break under pressure or when you're down? Are you just autopiloting your matches and losing when the opponent adjusts?

There are a lot of things that could be happening. If you really want to improve, it's on you to properly identify the problem and then try to find a way to solve it. Actually, you've got an entire community's worth of knowledge and experience at your disposal, so solving it isn't really an issue, after you've ID'ed it.

Just try not to get discouraged. If you put in the time and the mind you'll get back results.

I go on autopilot when my confidence is shaken, and I don't know how to switch up my game with my opponent. I lose to myself. It is far worse in Marvel. In that game I just want to put my controller down and put my head in my hands after a while.

1€ = 20$, Wong made the right choice

Just dropping in to say that Zero is the best fucking character in the universe. With 3 tournaments in a row I hope the argument of "not enough tournament wins so can't be best character" is out down the gutter.

Flux winning only showcases how strong this character is. If Justin won a tournament with Zero I would be like "OFC its Justin Marvelous Wong he won two tournaments with fucking IF" but when Flux wins 3 tournaments in a row you know that character is the dah best in dah game.

He beat PRRog today and beat ChrisG last tournament. This guy is thirsty to be in top 5.

Oh and Deckard Cain and his "people in the know" am cry. Flux whooped all those Wolverine players with Zero as it was told by people who actually know something about the game.
