Almost certainly since the engine is already ported over.

Can't wait, either. I love the Uncharted series way more than TLOU.

Perfect timing would be summer 2015 with a fall 2015 release date for UC4 (November)

I rather see it late Spring 2015. Summer 2015 may be too close to UC4 if a Fall 2015 release happens.

Yeah, they announced The Last of Us Remastered in January and it released in July, right? I'd say a similar thing would be good for Uncharted, but maybe June during the dry spell.

It's very likely that it will be remastered, but I'm not sure that Naughty Dog will have the time or resources to do it.
Or they could be secretly working on it right now.

Yeah I got the impression the only reason they didn't outsource TLOU Remastered was because after TLOU the tech people weren't yet needed on the early production of Uncharted 4 so they had room to do both while Uncharted 4 got on a roll.

If they indeed planning to do it, I hope they do it after UC4.

That doesn't really make sense from a marketing perspective. It would be much smarter for Sony to sell a 1-3 collection so new ps4 owners can play through the series before U4 comes out.

I don't know.. The first one doesn't really deserve that much attention. But I'd be in for a 2 remake, that's for sure.

It doesn't.

But as a gamer, would you prefer them to use some man power in making those remasters instead of finishing up UC4 in time? (and possibly TLoU 2?)

Whoever ports Uncharted 1 needs fix Uncharted 1s framerate, screen tearing, and grenade controls and remove any other crappy six axis stuff.

Maybe for good measure, improve the models and use the model of Drake that was originally supposed to be in the game instead of skinny Drake.

Theres no need to..
They should use their resources in perfecting 4..
Whats with this gen and remasters/definitive editions..
Made sense with HD remakes last gen.. dont see the point of them this gen..

I sure hope so.

I don't go nuts over these games like some people seem to but all 3 were fun for a playthrough and a refresher before 4 would be cool.

I hope they do.
For all i care they could leave out Uncharted 1, even.

This is the reason I want it most, I played all 3 at launch and I remember enjoying 1 the most yet the majority seem to think it's the worst. I'd like to play all 3 and stack them up because even when UC2 came out and everyone was going nuts saying it was the best game of all time I still liked UC1 more. I'm wondering if it doesn't hold up though.

I hope all the difficulties encountered in porting their PS3 engine to the PS4 was documented in detail, along with the various solutions. This would be helpful to whomever it is tackling this potential collection.

Perhaps we won't see as big a jump for character models, but who knows... Maybe sub-surface scattering approximatikn could be tossed into certain models or something.

Well the ICE team, the team at Sony that work on improving the SDK for PS systems, is made up of Naughty Dog team members so I'm sure they're very good at documenting their methodology

Whoever does the port is going to need ti because Neil said that porting TLoU to the PS4 was a pain in the ass for them. It's probably going to be a Bluepoint, since Sony/ND will want the best. The only other option as far as that goes would be HexaDrive, and I don't think that they've worked with any western IP's.

So like while I think porting the Uncharted games to the PS4 are going to be hell for whoever gets tasked with it, I don't think comparisons to TLOU's porting would be quite fair. TLOU by everything Naughty Dog said really sounded like the pushed the PS3 to the utmost of their capabilities after like 6 or 7 years with the hardware. I'm not sure anyone else besides ND could've successfully ported TLOU like they did

Personally i just think the pacing is off, with too many shooting rooms one after the other, the gameplay also feels more janky than UC2 and the level design is never as interesting, for me.
There is not a level in UC1 that really got me to jump around a lot and use the level to stay alive in creative ways -- like the Village siege in UC2 or the Ship Graveyard in UC3.

Replaying the series back to back, a couple of years ago, it really felt like a chore to go through it, compared to the two sequels.

I don't know. I'd love to see it happen but they were so hard wired for the PS3 that remastering them would be no easy task. Just look at TLOU Remastered which supposedly took them around half a year to complete, but it still has framerate issues. Now imagine them remastering 3 games.

If Naughty Dog aren't working on this, then Sony better have someone like Bluepoint or HexaDrive working on it.

This. Not to mention that they had to find a way to rewrite the entire code of the game onto PS4 (?), especially since that ND had used all 8 SPU's on PS3 just to get the game looking to what it was on that system.

They ported the engine and I doubt it's too hard for them to port the rest of the assets / physical effects. It's a matter of time.

My bet:
It's going to be a preorder bonus for Uncharted 4!
Aaaand they are going to name it the "Master Thief Collection"!^^
