So, let me get this straight:

Some designer working for Sony used a font that was created by a fan to resemble the title font of one of this year's most anticipated exclusives for their competitor's platform.

Said font could very well have borne the title of said exclusive (in part or fully), as these fonts do.

Someone at Sony gave this the OK.

That's because Insomniac didn't use a "font", their logo is drawn. Someone then created a font in that style (with Insomniac's blessing apparently) so obviously each letter will be identical.

I am aware, I read the thread. Just saying Sony didn't even try. And you have grunge fonts with more than one style for every letter so you don't have obvious repeats. But since it's a free fanmade font of course it doesn't have that.

The font file online was made by a fan based on our ORIGINAL logo for Sunset Overdrive w/ our blessing.

The font is even named "Overdrive Sunset font."

So yeah, it's all based on our creation and part of our universe, even if we allowed it to be used openly so fans have access to it.
