To that effect, Horii picked up the conversational baton, stating, “It’s fun to be able to bring these characters together from disparate games, especially ones that could never encounter one another in the normal games. Aside from Jessica, Yangus will also be showing up to help represent the old geezer crew.”

In all seriousness it is possible. The first thing the president of SCEJ/A said when Horii came on stage was "welcome back home" which would be an odd thing to say just for a Musou spinoff title.

Verendus said that Dragon Quest Heroes wouldn't be the only DQ game coming to Sony consoles very recently too.

DQVIII is the only one I've played, so I approve of this. I really loved that game and would have played more in the series had they not shifted to DS.

No-one's quite sure yet. Bearing in mind this game will be developed by Omega Force, so just because this spin-off is coming to PlayStation doesn't mean the mainline series is returning to the platform.

We can hope. Unfortunately, they always go the exclusive route and I'm dying to play the series on the big screen again. Since the next FF and KH are already on PS4 and Xbox One, it would be a great move from Horii to launch the next DQ on PS4.
