Avengers: Age of Ultron Trailer #1

Yet another Marvel movie with hundreds of robots? Really?

It just looks so stale. That is a trailer to a movie I feel like I have seen 6 times now. Perhaps I am over thinking it, but I am so bored of these movies now.

The hundreds of robots are going to end up cannon fodder, just wait till they have to take on Ultron himself, it's not gonna end well

I've not watched it, but I'm just picturing some gruff-ass robotic voice shouting ES IST KEINE KETTEN ... AUF MICHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

That's as much German I know after two years of classes in high school and 12 years of listening to Rammstein and Laibach.

almost

lol

Apologies for the huge post. Nothing else to do this morning so I've picked through the trailer as best as I could... I'm sure probably all of these details have been discussed already but anyway.

Ultron shot; likely in vibranium smelt upgrading to final form.
xqU5V5g.jpg
...and Natasha probably discovering Ultron during/after the process. Smelt in the background.
This dude definitely has something to do with these scenes. Serkis as Ulysses Klaw?

Moving on...

We can pretty much guarantee a worldwide battle in this film, multiple encounters with Ultron.

Cap strolling past cars with Russian/Eastern Europe-style plates.
Same area, note the building sign to the right.
And moving on to the Asian scenes (Korea?)...
I also spotted what seems to be attacking Cap here... something metal-looking spinning across the ground towards him under the cars. Maybe just an Ultron drone rather than the dude himself.

And finally the most interesting stuff...

Tank vs. Hulk
Hulk wins

Ultron crashing the party. This is very likely his first physical form; note how his chest is identical to that of the drone he picks up.
And left to right... Banner, Natasha, Jane, Thor, Cap, Maria Hill, Rhodes, Tony, Hawkeye.
Ultron taking the twins somewhere / freeing them?
Further evidence of the Natasha/Banner romance
Quicksilver fighting Ultron; note the red lights
And it looks like Ultron landed a punch on Cap. Ouch.
And to finish off, Thor - not Cap - KO'd next to the shield.

This is gonna be awesome.

Yeah, I still think this is Vision in a nanny outfit. Movie's tone might not be completely we-at-DC-hate-jokes territory. Someone earlier in this thread said it was a shirt, doesn't look like it as the hands are metal and shit too.

Or, you know, I'm not even sure anymore considering how it looks like it might fold.

Clearly it is Deadpool disguised as a street chimichanga trader and Ultron just caught him on his bullshit.

You know i never thought about it but its clear that must have been the case.

#It'sallconnected

I wonder if they will touch on this in Agent Carter?

Im pretty sure you're right, i think they pretty much say it in one of the movies (ill have to re watch them to check, but i think your right)
I'm merely speculating though. Howard didn't directly interact with the Tesseract, but he did get his hands on the weapons created by Hydra, which is based on the tesseract. I suspect he discovered more... energy friendly options for the tesseract energy and worked on creating the arc reactor tech.

I'm sure it'll die out within the next 20-30 years when the young generations take over. It's expensive, stupid, and no one really wants it anymore except for old people who never learned English in school.

So glad we have no-dub cinemas.

it's fucking cancer, less and less theatres are showing the original version.

I feel sorry for my neighbourly Germans :(

I like Ultron's voice, but his look, and honestly most of the trailer, is pretty lackluster. I actually thought Hulkbuster vs Hulk would be cool, but it actually looks very dull.

That's kinda the problem with Marvel action - it just lacks the OOMPH that you saw in Man of Steel.

The punches just feel so... lack-luster.

Quick note, pretty sure those "asia" scenes are actually in Africa.

Man of Steel violence was soo over the top it looked cartoonish

like DBZ but more absurd because they weren't actually doing any damage to each other only their surroundings and innocent by-standers

That's why i made a happy dance at home when i got two tickets for the preview of Guardians of the Galaxy in Berlin. It was the original version (and german subtitles but well).

Avengers try fighting too many battles against Hydra/whatever but there's too many fights to tackle.

Stark (and Banner) create the drones to fight Hydra/whatever.

The drones are ineffectual, so Stark/Banner creates Ultron to mastermind them so they can learn from their losses, making them more effective fighters.

Ultron learns too much, becomes self-aware, sees his robotic "brothers" just being disposable drones, and "puppets with strings".

Ultron goes Ultron, potentially killing someone important.

Avengers have some sort of internal conflict, resulting in them breaking up.

Avengers get back together via the power of friendship or whatever.

$200 million CGI fight scene here.

Some sort of revelation here that leads the Avengers to split up.

Post-credits scene of Thanos with a potato.

Subs before dubs

I know, but there is no real possibility to watch the English version where I live. :/

Oh you silly Germans and your dubbing.

as a Dutchie watching German tv I'm so amazed at times lol

There are many good German dubs and some even so good that I prefer them over the original, but yeah, the majority is garbage.

After reading the German article at SZ about the dubbing of TV shows I think it's a miracle they're not even worse. According to that article, for Walking Dead the American studio wanted to send them the new episodes with everything but the mouths blacked out. That said, the German version is fairly decent, helps that Spader's German synchro is great.

Thanks for sharing; very interesting article. A lot of pressure for all the dubbers. The idea of blacking everything out is insane though :lol

The sad thing is that you came quite close, haha

After seeing what looks like Klaw, Cap's shield destroyed and fights in Africa, I can't see how an introduction to T'challa isn't in the cards for this film (or post credits).

Good observation.

I hope that Thor KO scene isn't a dream sequence.

*shrug*
I think it really nailed the physics of superhuman combat.

In my dream world, marvel movies would have the same kind of action, but everything non-action stay the same.

If the Arc reactor is based on tesseract tech it would be great. Ties everything together and gives a reason why Tony's suit is so fucking badass even when you compare it to fucking space tech (GOTG).

Also, if rumors are true and Hulk gets booted into space they are OBLIGATED to make Planet Hulk. FUCKING DOOOOO IIIIIIT.

Instead, they'll do World War Hulkamania.

They more than imply that with Howard Stark
recovering the Tesseract
in Cap 1.

It would be equally interesting if Banner helped Stark design the Hulkbuster as a "just in case" or if Stark built in in secret and it is seen as some kind of betrayal of trust by Banner.

The second scenerio would make Stark a more "Civil War" type of forward thinking character, but I like the idea of Banner being involved in it's creation a lot more. It strengthens the bromance and it will be that much cooler when the Hulkbuster gets demolished despite 2 geniuses designing it.

I'm thinking more along the lines of Banner helped Tony create Ultron, but because he's already massively fucked in the head he can't deal with everything that's happened since.

He starts losing his shit and is conflicted between his (new) love for Natasha, friendship with the rest of the team, and the guilt/anger for helping create such a monster. He probably transitions from self-hate to blaming Tony for bringing him into this situation in the first place. Cue massive fight.

The Hulkbuster could either be A: something Tony made as a contingency plan to deal with an out of control Hulk, or B: something Ultron made before he went rogue. The latter has further implications as the suit could be Ultron-controlled with Tony as the puppet.

Well, she was the one tasked with recruiting him in Avengers.

She also tries to calm him down when he has his first incident in months.

Maybe there was something there all along.

There was a thread once where some argued that it was so obvious in the first movie that you must've been an idiot not to see it. I think their main argument was that those two characters talked at one point, or something.

im not clear on the whole story - how can scarlet witch and quick silver be in this film if they are in the xmen universe and the children of Magneto? Or am i wrong?

Marvel owns the two as Avengers, not X-men or mutants, and Fox owns them as X-men, so they can both use them, its super weird lol, Hence why in Cap 2, they called them "Miracles" instead

Marvel and Fox share rights for these characters. Because while they are Magneto's kids they were never that historically important to the X-Men until the modern age of comics. Back in they day they were far better known as Avengers than X-Men, and their first major appearances were in Avengers books (they were just lackeys in the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants for a little while after they first appeared and weren't important until they became Avengers).

Fox can't (and wouldn't) refer to them as Avengers, and Marvel can't refer to them as mutants or Magneto's children.

In the scene when Bruce is covering himself, the notable absentee is Tony.

I won't be surprised if they have a falling out.

I agree to a certain degree but I do think that Captain America 2 had great action scenes, especially the fights between Cap and WS.

Oh yeah, for sure, but that's because those weren't really superhuman fights.

MoS takes it when it comes to superhuman fights, Marvel takes it everywhere else (including more regular-human fights.)
