PS4 delayed because of incompetence. They had weeks to prepare for shit like this and they knew that 2.0 was coming.
Sorry but this is just blaming somebody else.
When did they started to work with the PS4 version? 2 Hours before the Alpha should have started? And giving information hours later is just bullshit.

The game is definitely not noob friendly in its current state, the final game will have bots so it'll be much easier. For now, everyone should go hunter at first to learn the ropes instead of diving straight into the monster role.
It works fine on the preview firmware for the Xbox One which they probably didn't have access to. I'm blaming Sony here.
Who knows. In the end though it only hurts turtle rock.

2.0 has been in the works for months, and developers have probably known about it for just as long. The November preview dashboard, meanwhile, was probably a month's worth of work, tops, and it's a preview, which implies sub-100% stable code.

Is the PC version OK on low specs? I want to play it on my laptop due to the PS4 beta being delayed, but I'm not sure I can run it.

Console makers put up the SDK updates months in advance, and the requirements more than half a year in advance.
And Sony has tons of test servers up for developers to work out the server issues in advance.

Stay optimistic if you want, but its very doubtful they will get it up this weekend if they didnt already plan for what the firmware update changed. There are two other functioning alphas they need to focus on. They will probably do another one of these like they did in august and just give the ps4 players a longer time to test then.
I'm inclined to believe the developers? This is an alpha-version of a game and a firmware update with known issues.

Don't think so, it seems you can't be the Monster if you are in a party, so the monster would have to connect through matchmaking. Can anyone confirm this?

I just came to realize the ps4 situation after trying for more than an hour to laung the alpha. Well, I'm disappointed but I guess shit will happen no matter what, and I guess the developer is as disappointed as we are if not more. I applied for the PC alpha as their post suggested, any PS4 user got a code sent to them shortly?
