Nintendo Direct: new presentation (over) (Wii U / 3DS)

I'm a bit late to the party, but here are my predictions sorted into two categories:

Likely:
-A focus on Amiibos and their compatibility with various games. I think this will be the main focus of the direct.
-Talk about the New 3DS release in the West. Maybe a specific release date, most likely a release window.
-Games: Yoshi's Wooly World, Kirby Rainbow Curse, Splatoon, Smash Bros U (reveal trailer for
Duck Hunt
), S.T.E.A.M, Mario Maker, Xenoblade Remake
-Bundles

Unlikely:
-Zelda U, Majora's Mask remake (I don't think it even exists), Xenoblade X, FE x SMT, Star Fox U
-Discussion about QoL
-System updates for either console

You know what would be a great out-of-nowhere surprise? Something Mega Man-related. The thing is, I remember Capcpom, and remember that it's dead, Jim.

So... you guys realize this is primarily for winter and spring titles, right? You know it's not E3?

They might and probably will show something new, but the direct has a larger purpose and it's not reveal new games.

Hey man stop with that.
We are supposed to hype this to the moon and get disappointed when nothing is revealed.

I want to see Splatoon and Zelda Wii U.
Also hoping for Lily Bergamo and Dragon's Dogma 2 Wii U exclusive.

Your statement wasn't about them being big public hits or not, it was about them revealing games in directs, which they have.

It really was though. technically they do reveal games in most directs, just not big games. I would be shocked if they reveal any big games at this direct.

For me, the only direct that revealed anything that I cared about was E3. Zelda and Splatoon look genuinely fun. Every other direct I have ever seen has pretty much been meh. Logically, strategically, what would be good for Nintendo to announce today?

1) They need to build hype for and sell Smash. It's all they got this holiday.
2) They need to hype something for 3DS, I'm thinking MH4
3) They need to keep hyping WiiUs library so show more MK8 stuff
4) They need to sell WiiU (bundles, eshop specials, etc)
5) 2015 for PS4 and XBO is looking like a Juggernaught at this early stage. They have to save their big guns for E3. To reveal a big game like a new Metroid now is just poor timing.

ater seeing the love Nintendo game to Megaman on Smash... that would make me VERY happy...

but it's not going to happen.

1) Game already has enough hype. No more is needed.

2) Yes. But not with MH, besides of that there are no games so they should announce some great first party games.

3) Yes.

4) Yes.

5) No, there is always a good timing especially before Playstation Experience event. They could reveal one megaton and keep the rest for E3 tho

After Smash Bros, it seems all the more apparent how amazing it would be if Nintendo made a Mega Man game. We've had Zelda's made by Capcom, would be nice if Capcom and Nintendo were willing to reverse the situation.

I keep seeing people say Dragon's Dogma 2 to WiiU, is there some kinda rumor about that game out there?

Am i crazy hoping for a Wii U Smash demo like they did for 3DS smash?
I would like that. Make it 10 characters and 5 stages though because the 3DS demo got old quickly.
Although it will probably not happen. The 3DS needed a demo for people to convince themselves to buy it. Everyone will buy the Wii U version regardless.

Im still hyped
It has to be less insulting to the series than Yoshi's New Island. Man was that game such an unneeded rehash.

I'd be fine with just some information about stuff like Zelda or Starfox. Don't really need some big trailer to talk about them more. Official titles for example.

I like fun. Fun is good.

Four pages of whining that Nintendo dares to talk about Pokemon and Smash in a direct explicitly for talking about winter games is the real anti-fun.

Oh yeah, I know what you mean. 99% of this will be stuff we've already seen/heard about, and I hope most people making lists of expected reveals know that.
It's so fun to hype though, and I guess some let that create unrealistic expectations.

They probably don't want to distract people from their holiday games though
True, but they probably do want people to see 2015 games and say "I want a Wii U for Christmas".

Not that January 2013-esque announcements would release in 2015 though. v.v

Same goes for Playstation event; don't expect anything big.

Reveal that "Kirby and the Rainbow Curse" also works with Wiimote, please.

I mean, drawing is nice and all, but I want to look on the TV.

For what it's worth last year's Direct that was focused on late 2013/early 2014 titles did reveal Hyrule Warriors.

True..but that was just a week before Christmas (December 18th) after all their holiday titles had been released.

For all we know we may be getting another Direct in December/January. I'd say new game announcements are far more likely then than now.

I'm ready for Smash U to come out so I can get it and stop hearing about it so much. Hoping to see Zelda but it's unlikely. REALLY hoping to see SMT x FE but there's probably a bigger chance of Nintendo announcing that they're building a life size Mario Gundam than that.

EVERYTHING. CAN. HAPPEN.

So can nothing. Expect all. I say they will reveal a new Metroid Internal Monologue Simulator for the 3DS. Has n3DS exclusives features.

There's always new stuff during these worldwide directs. Question is will it be as big as a Wii U retail game or as small as a 3ds eshop title.

I wanna see next gen FE(xSMT) ;_;

I seriously doubt it. We already now this one is covering 3DS/WiiU games releasing through Spring 2015. This is their BIG Direct until E3 I'm guessing.

I'm expecting a lot of Pokemon and Captain Toad shit. Maybe more Yoshi's, Kirby, and Codename STEAM, and a new Smash trailer.
