I skip most cutscenes. Do you?

I skip most cutscenes. And by most cutscenes I'm talking about nearly all games I play.

The only games I don't skip them in is Halo and the GTA games. Mostly because their so ridiculous to the point their entertaining.

The Halo games had fun but silly dialogue and cutscenes. The story is pretty convoluted but I do enjoy it.

Outside of those two series I always just skip them. Games just struggle to have good stories that draw me in or interest me. So it really bothers me when games don't allow you to skip them.

Do you skip them or not? And why?

If I like them or experiencing them for the first time, I don't skip them. If I don't like them, or I've seen them way too many times, I skip em.

All in all, I don't skip most cutscenes.

I watch stories in games because many of them are great.

No, I play games completely for the storyline. I would never skip a cutscene and if I did it by accident, I'd reset the game and play from whatever checkpoint to make sure I get it again. It hurts my brain that people skip cutscenes.

Why would I not want to know what's going on in the media I paid money for because of my interest in?

People that skip cutscenes always strike me as people that are way too impatient or who feel a lot of "proxy shame" about what they're playing.

If the game is bad, I stop playing. If the game is good I don't want to miss out on parts of the game. So, no.

I'll skip them if I play the game more than once.

I spend money to go to the movies and then cover my eyes and ears.

NO! Of course not. This sounds like my young nephew button smashing on the cutscenes and me going "wouldn't like to know WHY you are supposed to do stuff?", "Nope!"

Alternatively, I'm getting bored by what's happening on screen because it's not very entertaining, and I'd rather be playing now.

Story driven games? No. In fact I love GTA V because of the cutscenes, not just the gameplay.

Games with no depth to the story? Yep.

I watch all cutscenes the first time and depending on the quality of them I may watch them a second or third time too.

Never on the first play through, although I will text skip in games like skyrim when talking to npc's. It can go on for so long talking about crap I don't need to know so I just skim through every bit and stop skipping the text when it gets to the important bits

Depends on the game. If there are way too many of them, they are boring, the story is nonsensical, and I just want to play the damn game... Then I'll skip.

In other words, JRPGs.
