Halo MCC had a big drop in sales it seems, last week was higher than both PS4 and XBO versions of ACU, this week it's lower than both versions.

...I may be very wrong but I think u r math is off

Uhh thats not how it works

Come again?

Enlighten me?

I would most definitly not rule out the chance that I am being extremely stupid. On the contrary, that is probably the safest bet in most cases. That being said:

How i read the numbers:

43 % of all DA:I games sold are on the PS4
30 % of all DA: I games sold are on XBO.

43 % is 43,33 % more than 30 %.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is already behind Call of Duty: Ghosts, the sales gap between them will only get bigger.

[Week 03] CALL OF DUTY: GHOSTS (ACTIVISION BLIZZARD) - 156,240 / 1,117,240 (-16%)

[Week 04] CALL OF DUTY: ADVANCED WARFARE (ACTIVISION BLIZZARD) -
[Week 04] CALL OF DUTY: GHOSTS (ACTIVISION BLIZZARD) - 207,799 / 1,325,039 (+33%)

Code:
[Week 09] FIFA 15 (ELECTRONIC ARTS) - 83,346 / 1,966,097 (+25%)
[Week 09] FIFA 14 (ELECTRONIC ARTS) - 197,978 / 1,801,277 (+328%)

[Week 10] FIFA 15 (ELECTRONIC ARTS) -
[Week 10] FIFA 14 (ELECTRONIC ARTS) - 197,978 / 1,999,255 (+0%)

You are right, some seems to not know how math works.

How big is the gap between PS4 and Xbox One sold in the UK?

We don't accurately know. However, if MCV's claim that the Xbone has just hit 1 million units sold in the country (I'm still sceptical because I think MS themselves would have released a statement) it's only two months behind the PS4, so I'd guess the ratio would be around 1.2 or 1.3:1.

Halo MCC had a big drop in sales it seems, last week was higher than both PS4 and XBO versions of ACU, this week it's lower than both versions.

Dropping fourteen places down the individual sales chart is pretty dramatic in any case, but doubly so given this is Halo. Presumably the network issues have reflected badly on it.

If DA did less than 83k across platforms then it was a bad release decision by EA and a bad marketing decision by EA to go with MS.

Game could have seen better potential by being delayed some more weeks, say early December to give it some room and MS had way too many titles to exclusively market already that, I'm not even sure DA:I was marketed in a big way at all.

The 43% was throwing people off since it coincides with the total %. You're right.
I realized what you were doing right after I posted.

Please understand, percentages are hard :p

Marketing may have been part of it, but another part was likely the negative impact that DA2 had on the brand. Of course things can turn around with the positive vibe that Inquisition has behind it.

I don't know if you are making fun of the game, or its audience, or just netmums...
None of the above. I'm saying Tomodachi Life is an excellent fit for the 3DS audience (predominantly primary school kids I'd suspect), has a very family friendly endorsement behind it (which is mentioned in the TV advert), and as such is going to sell very well for a very long time (much longer than the 'traditional' Smash Bros).

I really hope da does well. Bioware really has a great foundation to work off of with da:I.

It's not as hardcore as origins and not as casual as da2. Theres a nice middle ground for everyone.

In terms of all time units ‘GTA V’ was right behind ‘Black Ops’, so much so that just the Tuesday sales of ‘GTA V’ on PS4/XO were enough to also claim the all-time unit sales record in the UK.

That bit is confusing.

GTAV LTD before the new-gen release was right behind CoD:BO LTD, and then with Day 1 sales of PS4/XB1 it went past it?

I mean OK fair enough, but that's a pretty pointless comparison.

Thanks to all confirming my head was switched on today.

Interesting to see similar splits between DA:I and GTAV, the DA:I split actually being slightly more in PS4s favour than the GTAV split.

MS has the marketing deal for DA, while Sony has the marketing deal for GTA, right?

Correct. Also Sony had Marketing for Far Cry 4.

I have not seen a single Dragon Age advert here in the UK.

By comparison seen loads of Far Cry and AssCreed ads. Come on EA, advertise your game. It's really good :(

This sums up EA's entire year, though, right? Plants vs. Zombies and Titanfall also would have been much bigger if they launched simultaneously on PS4.

So people in the UK might own 2 3ds games? How weird would that be?

That does seem like a large drop. The WoM can't be good on it, and this may be the first indication it's impacting sales.

The notion that I should deride any enjoyment over a titles failure is really immature but it does make me happy to see MCC dropping like a comet.

DA is probably way bigger on PC than your usual AAA multiplat so I don't think retail numbers tell the whole truth. Digital dominates on PC.

So glad to see DA:I and Far Cry 4 doing well, I have been thoroughly enjoying both. Congrats to Rockstar for sure, I have been nothing but impressed with the remaster so far.

Some guys saying MCC is dropping by a rock... week what did you expected?

It is a remaster of old titles that did ~100k in the first week... it is an amazing number for what it is and it is not a Halo 5 in any way.

I'm pretty confident when i say that GTA 5 will remain in the top10 next week, and that the drop-off IS related to the poor execution of the game(s).

No, don't get me wrong, I agree that it is probably around that 1.5m/1m mark. It's just that a 1.5:1 is a lot closer than many doom merchants were predicting about a year ago.

UK was looking like 1.5:1 just based on pre orders. Nothings changed. The crazy ratios are in other places like Germany which iirc is at like 5:1.

It looks like the only genre where a Microsoft marketing deal will give them a chance in is the First Person Shooter. Everything else is firmly PS4 territory. At the same time, it's interesting to see the affect of bad word of mouth on Halo sales. It is possible that the drop would have been in the same range given all the major releases this week, but I don't think it would have been so drastic.

It's a purely anecdotal and personal observation and probably reaching, but when I was watching a few unboxings of the DA Inquisitor's edition on Youtube, most of them were done by women. Maybe DA doing that much better on PS4 is indicative of more females buying the PS4 over the Xbox One. That could also explain Fifa and CoD doing relatively better on Xbox if you assume those games are slightly more attractive to a male demographic.

I don't think that has come into effect, yet. This is much more likely a symptom of the sales being more front loaded because pretty aggressive bundling. Basically every major bundle since early september had a free copy of MCC included. It kinda inflated the day 1 numbers.

The WoM is looking to give it quite another significant drop next week.
