Name that Smash Character video

disney-princess-elsa.jpg

Elsa from Frozen (2013), the highest grossing animated movie of all time.

Elsa > Rosalina.

Come at me, haters.

EDIT: (Not directed to you, just wanted the quote)

There's a difference between not being iconic and having a derivative, generic design. Dedede is not as iconic as other Nintendo characters, but at least they acknowledged him as "that penguin guy", whereas characters like Robin are virtually unrecognizable to people who don't have NeoGAF accounts. I laughed out loud when one of the women joked about how they "all look the same."

That is a difficult point to make when Kirby games are realesed constantly (it even got a cartoon) .

Normal people that grow in the 80's usually don't recognize when you ask if they remember a decepticon named Soundwave, but they will tell you that their favorite robot was the one that transformed in a Cassette tape and have a creepy voice.

Elsa:
Extremely well-developed character in a movie many people loved
Rosalina:
Star Princess
(This is coming from a Super Mario Galaxy worshipper, mind you. I don't think Rosalina had nearly enough lore)

There's only way that this could be solved.

They must settle it in smash.

Elsa confirmed Smash DLC
Could you imagine how much money Nintendo and Disney would make
It would single-handedly save the Wii U

I would buy a dozen myself, amiibos included.

I'm still searching for her Disney Infinity figure here, but couldn't find it yet. Found dozens of Annas, though.

I feel like having Fire Emblem characters in Melee helped spark interest in the series in the west. Shulk's inclusion could help Xenoblade for 3ds and maybe Xenoblade X for Wii U. I'm thrilled he was included.

Elsa is a princess from a Disney movie called Frozen, which essentially had the popularity of Rebecca Black but without most of the suckiness
Both wear blue dresses, and I think it's just on constant standby in the minds of some people today.

Elsa. You know from that little movie called Frozen. Maybe you've heard of it.

Elsa from Frozen (2013), the highest grossing animated movie of all time.

Oh. I have never seen the movie. I've heard of it, and I have seen a couple videos of it, but I didn't know her name was Elsa. I don't watch very many movies...

I already explained why I feel that way in this thread.

Your argument boiled down to 'because you can (choose to) pair adults with children, the game is not a must play'. That, in my opinion, is irrelevant in regards to whether the game is a must play or not as it has nothing to if the game is actually GOOD and, instead, comes down to your own sensitivity.

But I digress, this is absurdly off topic.

The group of dudes who got most of them right were so hyped up, it was fun.

Old guy and the bubblegum Kirby dude were the best though.

Kinda funny how two of the characters were pretty widely likened to Disney lookalikes. I wonder if Nintendo will ever reach that status as a producer of cultural icons?

Also interesting how recognizable Wii Fit Trainer and Duck Hunt were. Just goes to show the importance of putting in recognizable characters from a variety of franchises!

Funny video, some answers are really good.

But who cares if some characters are not as well known? Who the hell knew who Marth was back in 2002? But the game sold 10million copies and pretty much was the reason Fire Emblem finally made it to the West.

..if only the same had happened for Lucas.

"Bat Kirby" Meta Knight is a revelation to me now...

Link forever in Zelda's name shadow. Fox well known for a franchise in stasis.

Very surprised by Wii Fit Trainer being recognized even if her shirt has the tiny title on it.

(Picture of Shulk) "Kingdom Hearts!" :dead:

And people say that Smash's roster only consists of classic characters that everyone knows.

Although I was surprised how many recognized Duck Hunt Dog

I love all of the reactions to Shulk and the Fire Emblem characters. It kinda proves the point I've been trying to make.

lol, I'm pretty sure if Nintendo took any of your character suggestions, whatever they may be, most of those people wouldn't know who the hell they were either.

Nah, even if you think it's an amazing game, I feel that just saying it's a must play is a shitty thing to do. A game where
you have to pair a child and an adult together in order to recruit their future child should get some kind of disclaimer IMO.

Are you spoiling the freaking game!?
Also realise that Samus was hardly recognised yet a lot recognised Duck Hunt Dog despite this being its first ever 3D render and people were trying to say Ridley was more deserving of a place. A HA HA HA HA HA!

Who were these insane people?

Megaman confused with Astro Boy makes perfect sense for me, specially older guys :p

You know it also says a lot that even in this very thread it took quite a while for a post to complain about people not recognizing Captain Falcon.
