Yeah that's fair enough I personally don't play in lobbies only with friends so that's not really a problem for me. If it was I have a tank and they would never make it to the Buzzard

Is there any way to add back the lock on snap? In the last gen version you could press the right stick left or right and it would snap onto the next target

In terms of connecting Sunday seemed a lot better than Friday or Saturday. I could join sessions on Sunday but the load times are still lengthy with a general few errors. Regardless I soldiered on and actually had quite of lot of fun levelling up new characters to get some share footage of the whole new player tutorial and to test out the character creator.
I was mostly playing with randoms as clicking join crew with aim set as free aim yielded a "timed out when matchmaking for a compatible GTA Online Session to join" error but Baron joined me for a quick mission before the vote screen separated us. My random character had just reached level 5 though so I went and tried one of these high value challenges. I couldn't find a 250k one but there was an IGN crew one for around 110k for 5 laps of criminal records.
Being a low level player joining randoms in missions is quite a laugh. I was doing extradition with some level 70+ players and when we spawned they all took their chromed adders and started throwing themselves at the fences at Fort Zancudo to try and jump in with limited success. Meanwhile my lowly level 3 stole a car, drove to Trevor's and picked up one of the waiting jets....
Overall so far it's been a mixed bag, the connectivity issues are infuriating and the lack of people accepting jobs equally so but when it all comes together and you are running across country at night with someone else in the car raising hell, police blues and twos lighting up the surrounding countryside and your heart racing, it is so much fun.

Using the capture functionality on the PS4 I reckon we could easily make "GAF in 60 seconds" or the like with 4 or 5 willing people with a spare character slot (to create specific model types) who are up for joining an invite only session, running through some semi-scripted events and then all uploading the raw share footage somewhere to share and edit.
If anyone is keen, let me know and I'll organise a session (with notice I can do most days 2200-0000 GMT and weekends 2300-0200 GMT).
On a thread update related note, I have been trying to keep up with updates but I am falling a little behind, apologies!

Do you play ps4 with the the same name as your Gaf? As I raced a doc morbid last night, smashed him in to a cliff on the first couple of corners and won a 8 player race. Probably not, I drive a pink zentrono or a matt black entity and race record of 128 wins with 158 loses psn name KingKongRat from the Gaf clan

Bought one yesterday. I'm having so much fun driving about and having police chases in it.
Absolutely. Got up to the top of Mt. Chilliad yesterday. Was fun to get up there with it.
Has anyone noticed that helicopters and planes don't spawn much on online? The helipad near the airport never has them anymore (and I don't think I've seen any at the airport either) and the one time I did find a heli was at Trevor's airport so I stole it to go steal a fighter jet and there wasn't anything at the military base (not one fighter jet/plane/heli/tank anything).
And I mean that heli pad usually was reliable on having one unless some one just stole a bunch of helis (and when I was there no one was even flying in a heli).

For all NEW PS3/4 GAF Crew applicants - *PLEASE* be sure to send me a FR, or a message on the R* Social Club or here, with your Gaf name, and/or R* Social Club name/PSN name if any of those differ from each other. I have noticed this as well...every time I've tried to nab a Lazer it hasn't really worked out well in my favor...I say give it time. First few days of release, Online was devoid of Simeon text messages, HPV cars, or crate drops. I see them fairly often now. Once the hub bub dies down some, everything will work better than ever. Heck, Sunday morning I was hopping between online lobbies like nobodies business. Loads times were VERY quick, and got in several 20+ people lobbies. It was a dream, the true next gen GTA experience was had.
We need to get a XB1 crew going, honestly.

Apart from the bodywork (Jamaican flagged version looks ace) is it appreciably different from the Liberator? Can it seat 4? Is it a Pegasus vehicle or can it be stored in a garage? Can it be modded as LSC?

Alright guys, having tons of trouble with only one mission: High Priority Case. What is the way this mission is intended to be played? Because my friends and I can't do it with the ladder and crane and have absolutely no luck finding a helicopter. Does it seriously require you to buy a Merryweather bird and shooting out the pilot? This seems incredibly broken.
No it doesn't it's an awfully badly designed mission. You can do it with the yellow crane climbing up that and parachuting from the boom to the roof then walking back across the red beam and back down the crane. You can also get Lester to locate a helicopter if you've got that unlocked.
Thanks, forgot he had that option. Maybe will have better luck.

I finally bought and fully upgraded my Zentorno, but I left off the turbo to be safe.
Also, R*, work on your matchmaking. Maybe it's the only race you can put me in at the time, but I feel horrible every time I end up in a room with all new characters. Now, that doesn't stop me from lapping all of them because they left custom cars on, but I feel bad lol

Not sure. Did some quick, very unscientific, straight line tests today, they're not entirety conclusive but they make me think it possibly is working inversely to how it should in terms of power.
Times below are non-turbo first then turbo, the rest of the car is the same, fully modded. Times are start point and end point of capture (displayed as rounded to .n) and then the difference.
On phone so hard to go into detail. Pictures tell a thousand words.

Are these servers just garbage or did I choose a bad day to start playing this?
I don't know man. For the first time I managed to play quite a few races/missions without being thrown off online. Seems random.

It took 30 minutes to get into a server with a friend, and when we got into one it was us and 2 other people for an hour or two. We didn't drop connection, but we never tried any missions.

Things seem to be smoother for me, get put in 20+ lobbies everytime and timeouts become rare. Loading times to get back into freeroam coming from a lobby can be nasty though.

I don't know what is happening...I must be lucky then...
I played for about one hour yesterday, on remote play no less, and load times between lobbies were very very fast. WAY faster than anything on PS3, rivalling loading story mode pn PS4. I'm talking less than 10 seconds. It was NUTS. THose lobbies had 1-4 people in it, but even a 20+ person lobby took marginally longer...curious...

We had terrible wind here yesterday, maybe it was making me lose connection briefly or something but I couldn't stay online for more than a few minutes. I had internet when I bitched about how bad it was so I didn't think it was on my end. I will try again tonight. I was kind of intrigued by this mode. It kind of pulled me right in and then I had non stop problems.

Yup, you're basically putting down the 250k as a bet, if you don't beat the challenge time you lose the money.

Cronnie got it dead on. Be sure av2k if you do a challenge, find one on criminal records. A lap takes less than 30 seconds, so use that as a gauge if you can. If no Criminal Records is available...well...good luck :\ The first one I did was a point to point race, and I was able to finish with a stock Zentorno with time to spare, but that might not always be the case

I get into a good group we do a few missions then blam get dumped back to single player. re-Join online, and its single person server.
A lot of time spent fighting this, restarting, waiting, but no social head of steam built up to make it worth the time invested...

Online kept kicking me back to single player. Guess I didn't get the memo as I tried again and it kicked me out and took every weapon I have in single player.

I haven't played GTA Online since Christmas last year, until now. I'm pretty much acclimated to it again, but activities and missions are quite different. Are there some efficient activities for accumulating money? Not looking to seriously grind or cheat, just hoping to get some insight on some of the more profitable activities.
Last time I played it was the cargobob mission where you stole a storage tank and got a quick $12,500 but it seems to be gone now. I experimented with a few activities and races, nothing seemed to be a nice payoff.

Does anyone have a crazy 1-3 second delay when they pull up their phone online? Hell, even when I get a call it takes a second or two for the phone to come up. I don't recall it doing this on the 360.
