Canonically, who is the strongest fighter in the Smash Bros universe?

Canonically, Sonic can run faster than light, at the very least with Super Sonic, meaning if he kicked you with all his might you'd probably disintegrate. Also Kirby is only like 8 inches tall so he's not all that menacing.

Kirby has the power of "you + 1". Whatever you do, he can do just as well + Kirby shenanigans.

He's the Kurokami Medaka of the Nintendoverse (and far more charming at it).

As to the answer for this thread, this is only but one: Mario.

Everyone might be familiar with Mario being the happy-go-lucky, lasagna loving I-talian from NYC. But people don't know his true origin and abilities. Mario is actually an ancient, evil God of destruction. The fireballs that you see him firing whenever he touches a fire flower is a pathetically pale imitation of what his actual fire abilities are. Directly and literally from the pits of hell, Mario's fireballs are hotter than the hottest suns. He wields ice manipulation abilities that can reach temperatures below absolute zero, enough to freeze even one's soul. He can move about the universe in mere seconds thanks to access to what's called Mariospace, which lets him move at speeds infinitely greater than the speed of light. He can also create portals, disintegrate living matter, move planets, alter the fabric of reality, and can eat ice cream really quickly without getting a headache.

The only reason you see Mario in his current form is that he is presently vacationing in the Mushroom Kingdom and intentionally powers down to participate in Smash Bros. tournaments to make things interesting.

And now you know the truth behind the mustachioed dark lord.

Doesn't read OPs, especially not his own
Kirby also flies across space on a star clearly going at light speed or faster and then crashes down into planets and just gives no fucks, kirby doesnt give a shit.

"D"

I'm extremely insecure with how much f2p mobile games are encroaching on Nintendo
My guess would be either Ness, Kirby, Palutena,Rosalina and perhaps Ganondorf. I haven't beaten Xenoblade yet so I dunno all the details about Shulk and have been avoiding his spoIles in this thread.

Ness is psychic and telekinetic so he could read minds, teleport, etc. Like a Jean Grey minus the Phoenix Force, but still highly formidable.

Kirby....I don't even know where to begin I just know he's broken lol

Palutena is a goddess, Rosalina can create universes at a whim and Ganondorf is powered by a goddess relic that effectively makes him invincible to everything that isn't blessed by the same goddesses
and is due to be reincarnated if he does die because of a curse.

Kirby can't copy you if he can't inhale you.

Also I'd still go with Ike since he's actually good at, you know, fighting.
Or Captain Falcon. He's got the moves and a kick-ass theme song:p

Shulk and Pit does not fit because they are not "omfg" in their base smash levels ...

My vote is kirby.

The cute pink ball destroyed an evil eternaly sealed just because it was on his way to a piece of cake.

I'm actually kinda curious about this, I mean I don't play a ton of Kirby games, but doesn't he only copy one ability? I mean, is there anything that says he gets all of someones abilities?

Shulk. By so much, it's not even fair. The Monado
doesn't just give the user the ability to "see the future". It's right there in the name: it manipulates the base unit that forms all things to bend reality to the wielder's will.
Shulk with the Monado is essentially "Deus Ex Machina" incarnate. :p

what the fuck at that list of kirby abilities. straight up blew my mind.

Like I knew he was strong but I had no idea he was a cute little death machine

I feel like Palutena's been sandbagging. That, or her greatest power is bluffing. Either way, she's probably an excellent gambler.

I still haven't read anything here that can stop the immortal Wario. Nothing can kill him, sure you can push him down a pit but he'll crawl out and star in another game, collect his money all while laughing at death.

Rosalina needed spacial relics to do anything. And this is the one who even with her entire star collection intact lost to fucking Bowser.

I'd vouch for Ganondorf simply because he can only be
killed by very specific tools. Maybe not the strongest but pretty resilient.

Twilight Princess showed that he's pretty strong. Took on Fused Shadow powered Midna and came out without a scratch.

Actually, in Smash Bros canon, Sonic did show up out of nowhere and make Tabuu look like a bitch in 3 seconds, saving everyone else, so

Dorf only ever jobs to Master Sword AND Light Arrows, so I'd say him. Palutena got worked over by a bug (not to mention Medusa, who it turns out is weak as hell) and Rosalina doesn't seem like she posseses much lethal force.

I guess the Monado is pretty dangerous, mind.

Kirby blew up an entire fortress-gun-thing with a single strike, survived Tabuu's onslaught because he randomly ate one of Dedede's badges, and saved Peach (or Zelda) from an entire army. Then there's Ness, who was only KO'd because he took a bullet for the ever-useless Lucas; otherwise, he made a fool out of Wario by dodging the arrow-gun-thing (SSE had a lot of gun-things, okay?) effortlessly as well as blowing up the massive Porky statue in one hit. He had to get copped out and incapacitated early on because he was too overpowered for the story to work with him around.

Though obviously, the badges mean that Dedede is the Batman of Smash. All he needs is prep time to counter whatever threat comes his way.

Toss-up.

Palutena: is a god.
Shulk:
practically becomes a god
.
Ness:
kills the embodiment of all evil
.
Kirby: slays gods.
Rosalina: some silly thing about remaking universes.

Now, who would canonically win in a fight? Probably Kirby, since his potential is essentially limitless. Shulk may be able to abuse his future sight or whatever, or Ness could just teleport straight in and blow up everyone with his mind. Rosalina just decides whether she wants to trigger another intergalactic apocalypse or something. Palutena's mildly useful on a good day.

This is a good post.

Today I learned Kirby's true nature. So guys where does superman fit into all this? :p

But seriously how come Pitt follows Palutena if he's so much stronger than her?

I'd say the weakest is probably Zero Suit Samus. She's not all that out of her suit.

Maybe Jigglypuff, but she at least has Sing.
Wii fit trainer? Mii? :p

As for stronger, I guess it's either Kirby or the Hands, depending on which canon you are interested in

Actually it's Kirby either way

I'd say Shulk, Ness, and Rosalina because they're the ones that have shown power crossing through multiple universes/dimensions. I don't know much about the Kirby storyline, but I'm assuming he's similar based on what's been said in the thread, so those four are probably top tier plus anyone else with similar abilities that I don't know about.

Dat Nintendo lore man.

Whoa, whoa whoa. Hold up. Just hold the FUCK up.

Were Master and Crazy hands taken from the Kirby series?

Nah, that's a post-Melee cameo. Though keep in mind that Smash borrowed tons of elements from Kirby Super Star, which is basically its predecessor.

Although...
many of the Hands' abilities are lifted almost directly from Wham Bam Rock (Kirby Super Star boss), so in a way, yes actually.

Well I remember that one 64 game where you could copy two abilities at a time and combine them so, even better?

Yeah team Kirby fo'sho

It's not Palutena. She got her ass kicked by a bunch of vegetables.

Honestly, I'm gonna go with Shulk or Ike. Both are god slayers. Kirby and Ness too I guess.

No, other way around. Kirby and the Amazing Mirror took Master and Crazy Hand from Smash Bros.

Inhaling them even granted you an ability called Smash that took after Kirby's moveset in Smash Bros, with the obvious omission of the neutral B inhale.

In Triple Deluxe, Kirby makes his stomach a black hole by eating a fruit and he can pretty much inhale everything that stands in his way. There's nothing more OP than that!

Worse.

By the last levels, his hypernova is so strong that he is capable of inhaling parts of the world itself. In fact, the sheer force of it inhales your HUD. The ultimate implications of this fourth wall-shattering are clear: YOU are not safe from Kirby.

Ness, Mewtwo, Ganondorf(Dat power), and Palutena are definitely at the top. Kirby fights some crazy powerful bosses so him too. Sonic has the chaos emeralds. Robin is a definite maybe too.

I dunno, immortality seems like more of a negative than a positive if you're going to spend the rest of eternity in Kirby's colon...

Same for the other immortals/gods people have been mentioning.
