Have people forgotten what Super Mario 3D World looked like before release? It looked quite bland and uninspiring but literally two months before release they dropped a new trailer and the visual quality made me do a double take.

People, this will be fine. Stop stressing over an off-screen video that was meant to explain a bit of gameplay, and give fans an idea of what to expect. Everything will be fine.

I really liked in the overall.
Feels a bit empty and a bit old gen, but this not matter if the game deliver a solid experience.

The video's objective was just to show the bigass world.
It's pretty clear and they said "just look how big the wold is!" a few time.

E3 is where the blowout will be.

Reminds me so much of:

I am quite certain that the reason we got shown a less active area is because the game is still in development and maybe they are not yet ready to show more. I am also fairly certain that the final game will have a lot more enemies, NPC etc in all these areas around the world map, not to talk about what comes out at night...also, the open world is huge, so I dont mind if there were parts of the world map that had less activity going on.

Reason for showing it off I guess is because Nintendo is desperate and need to generate buzz for the Wii U and this Zelda title is their top race horse.

They also cut the camera away from the iintersg stuff to keep us from seeing

They're blood ground textures M8

Much to the horror of 5 people on the internet.

Hey, bad ground textures were pretty far down on my list of issues I had with TP, but I jut bring it up to point out certain graphical issues Nintendo seems fine with ignoring.

More high quality gifs, didn't notice the water before. ^^

I like the detail of Eponas horseshoe shining when it catches the sunlight as it runs.

World looks beautiful and loaded with greenery. Hopefully they drop lots of underground caves and things to do and interact with as we get closer to launch.

I'm afraid though with how they've incorporated the "auto pilot" the overworld enemies will be few and far between

This thread is why they only show GCI trailers.

Pretty much.

Most of the main work is done (engine, art & gameplay), they just have to expand and add more details and probably do the dungeon and story now. One year should be enough for that.
Nintendo isn't know for delivering empty and half-assed games, particularly concerning main franchises like Zelda, so I'm not worried.

Glad we had some news about it.

i think they deliberately made the world "empty" for the demo to just show off the world scale and not be distracted by an army of octorocks or whatever. notice how the hobgoblins (or whatever they're called) didn't even strike link

i don't want to complain because they could get away with not showing anything til E3, but it would've been cool to see other features. we already know the world is really big

This one is beautiful, you can just glimpse the beauty of the grass, the off-screen footage destroys this because the contrast is too high, but it's ok here:

Some of you act like this game releases next week as oppose to nearly a year from now.

Glad, I'm not the only one that noticed this.

I love how the grazing horses all react immediately upon Links approach and start to run away / run with Epona. It's a nice touch that livens up the game.

While I'm sure the final product will be great between the reveal and this footage I'm still pretty tepid on this one at the moment, though I am pleased to see that they took the in game footage route here, it's just that bugger all happens and I'm not one to be particularly impressed by a big map.
I also can't help but feel that on the point of vast map area exploration Xenoblade X is going to have this beat if it's anything like the Wii original (by all means prove me wrong zelda team) so I need to see more of the pros unique to Zelda, hopefully on the next go around we'll see some items, characters and dungeons.

Game looks super nice, and the fact that it has a huge over world to explore makes it look like it harkens back to the series' roots. Kudos.

Game wasn't even lifeless in this video. Don't know what people are complaining about. If you expected more actiony sequences, maybe you should wait for a video where they actually focus on action sequences. Lower your expectations, kids.

this looks way better than this last video

I don't know if I agree. I think they look about the same, if not, the Game Awards demo looks better.Lets not forget, it's off screen, which looses color, and gains blurriness, plus it's at an odd angle.

However, at this point in the video, even with all the flaws of off screen recording, I say it looks better than the preview at E3. Those horses.

Splatoon, Mario Maker, Star Fox, Zelda, Kirby, Yoshi's Wooly World and Mario Party looks to be Nintendo's lineup for next year then... and the annual E3 holiday release surprise too, most likely.

Wii U is gonna have another stellar year of first party releases.

How can people say it's empty. Instead of long fields they've designed things very much vertically to obscure your view of the next area.

It was also a traversal demo.

Looks pretty good but a bit empty right now.

Would love to see what a dungeon would look like.

E3 is where the blowout will be.

Maybe Ninty knew that Dudebros don't care about gameplay at this event, but didn't want to have a crappy CG Trailer and wanted to be "Nintendo" about it.

We remember Nintendo showing because they aren't the same as everyone else.

Nintendo don't do sane things.

And we should embrace that.
