how is the manga atm?

Kinda liked the show more when it was just brutally killing cartoonishly evil aristocrats instead of these just 1v1 shounen fights.

I mean im fine with fights but you gotta space stuff out pad stuff with other content, etc.

In the manga, we're at the start of a pretty big arc and fight(s). In regards to Tatsumi, it's the same as in the anime.
He got caught and is being used as bait.
The manga was always a fight and special ability type manga.

Wow even if you're an anime only viewer you had to be wondering at the start of this episode "wait did I miss an episode or two how the heck did we get here?". Night raid is now back at the capital again with no explanation, the revolution has begun and advanced very far without us seeing any of it, all the fights that were set up at the end of the last episode were completely skipped and nobody died from any of them, just why why why? This is a complete mockery and looking at the apparent episode titles for the 22 and 23 gives me even less hope.

That's what happens when your show doesn't sell.

At least we had a couple of pretty great fights, and I got my wish of having the series animated... As short-lived as that was.

so after picking up the manga, the only thing so far that i'm really annoyed about them skipping is the
Wave/Shura fight. Wave fucked him up.

As long as Wave makes it to the end alive, I'll be ok.

This show just wants to end. And it should. Because I stopped liking it for a while now. Just give me more Kurome and Wave.
too bad it looks like Kurome is gonna die next episode because of that lol episode title "kill the little sister"

Watch it be Akame that dies. Because it seems like they are just killing people off for the sake of killing them off now.

realized it wasn't making enough money to get a second season. changed courses mid-season to have an original ending instead of an adaptation ending, which would have required more episodes to happen.

i think.

Probably what happened. Disappointing though. The manga is pretty entertaining atm. Would've liked to see it adapted faithfully.

i think.

Except they didn't change course mid season, they changed course 5 episodes from the end without warning

This has been the most obvious thing coming since she started dating Tatsumi. Only Akame can kill EsDeath and EsDeath will kill anyone who tries to take her Tatsumi, Mine has been dead to rights for awhile

Akame ga Kill 20-21: It seems like they're trying to wrap up the story early with come cool match-ups and that's okay by me. I never particularly cared much for
pedophilic clown rape
but hey that's just me. Looks like the next episode will be Akame vs Kurome, if they manage to not make it look like ass I'll be satisfied.

The only thing I'm bummed about is that we'll never see Cosmina animated :/

Yeah! Instead of
pedophilic clown rape
we get
psychotic announcer bunny girl rape!

:p

I cannot believe how badly the last 2 episodes have botched it. WTF. Mine killed Budo? Really?

Why not? She was in a pinch.

Besides, it makes about as much sense as Manga Spoiler
Her fighting Budo and Esdeath at the same time.

After reading the manga, I'm kind of glad they skipped the wild hunt arc. That shit was entering absurd levels of edginess. Mango spoilers:
Reintroducing Bols' family in the cemetary for the sole purpose of having them raped and murdered as ~motivation~ for Wave? Fuck off. Not to mention the copious amounts of murder, mindbreak and child rape, along with Lubbock getting dusted in the most pathetic way possible.
It does suck that it created a vacuum in the plot that played a part in the pacing issues though.

I have dropped this anime because it has completely dumped on the manga's plot and skipped some very vital character development for several key characters in the story.

This is not a good adaptation and I feel sorry for whoever is watching the anime instead of reading the manga.

Black_Stride

do not tempt fate do not contrain Wonder Woman's thighs do not do not
Its sad that they are changing so much from the manga.

Manga Spoiler vv
Also, i guess they wont reveal Tatsumis new suit till later, i wonder how they will explain his new suit in the anime though....the writers got their work cut out.

Anyway on another note, are there any other anime/manga similar to this....im probably gonna drop this anime for the next few weeks/months id like something to fill the void.

haven't watch this episode and the last one, since all went to original ending, I was wating till is over to watch the whole thing, I don't want to wait a whole week to see another sucky episode but it seems like
Mine
got killed in this episode, I could totally watch that P:

From what I'm seeing in this thread, they skipped a whole bunch of stuff.

Wish they hadn't done that, but I understand why.
May have to start reading the manga though. It sounds pretty good

Had they not skipped all the fights leading up to the priest getting killed they would have never gotten to wild hunt so its kind of a moot point.

It's been a while since I haven't seen this and jumped straight into ep 17. Whelp.

EDIT: Time to read the manga, I feel that the premise of a much more entertaining story is being squandered here. From which chapter should I start reading?

My super-safe shonen trope predictions for the remainder of the series...

Akame > Kurome
Leone = Run
Tatsumi > Wave
Najenda > Honest
Esdeath > Najenda
Akame > Esdeath

Akame and Tatsumi run off to make babies somewhere.

Personally, I think they should just say fuck it, go all-in with a complete deviation from the manga source material and have Kurome kill Akane in a shocking upset.
Tatsumi and Esdeath kill each other in the finale and Wave / Kurome are the sole survivors. They run off to make babies somewhere.

Kinda enjoyed episode 22, despite the random Mega Man villain. The Zero nods were cool.

Next episode will almost certainly be completely stupid, though :lol

What?

[Manga Spoilers]
Lubbock died after killing Syura in the most badass way ever. It wasn't pathetic at all.

yeah I lol'd at Wave when he said that

also, I liked this chapter, and kind of liked the previous one, I guess the Manga will follow the Anime regarding Mine and Budo, I would like to see Tatsumi
digivolved
Incursio thou, I guess they'll use that for the next chapter of the Anime or the last

and a little more discussion on the manga, you gotta be kidding me with Esdese,
she has another secret tech?? I was glad that Tatsumi was able to keep up with her, but a new tech is like saying "fukc you tatsumi, u ain't strong enough" nevertheless it was a good chapter imo

Esdese does feel out of place.
A technique that's better than actually freezing time is just too overkill when you consider that none of the other Teigu shown so far come even close to her's in power.

I don't think we'll see
Incursio 2.0
in the anime.

This episode was pretty good. Still feels like they are rushing things along but I enjoyed it. Lol at how much they brushed over
Mine's
death. And poor Lubbock. Already forgotten.

RIP Tatsumi... you were too dumb for this world.
Akame vs. Esdeath... next week. Why are they fighting? Who the fuck cares!

I haven't read the manga, but christ, is the end of this series just a zero sum game? Something like every remarkable character dying, and then a narrator being all "And then everyone else lived happily ever after."

This was a fantastic series to marathon. I just discovered it last week and watched episode 23 today.
Sword Art Online has been a big let down, and this does a great job of filling the role of fantasy action anime for me. I'll be sad to see it end.

Wave is still alive, that's all that matters.

this so much

also if they leave Run and Leone alive too I could do ok with it
dunno about Akame and Esdese, I guess both will kill off each other on next episode

and regarding this episode
Wave and Tatsumi fighting side by side was fucking neat, hopefully they do that on the manga too and better, also nice nod to Run's background story, as for Incursio 2.0, my hype died with those ugly wings, I was hoping to see the manga version of it, oh well, at least didn't expect tatsumi's death, so it was kind of surprinsing to me, overall good episode

Obvious manga spoilers:
Needless to say almost every character who has died up to this point is still alive in the manga with one exception.

Even with the fuck ups I've been enjoying this show a lot. Even though they keep killing all my favorite characters :/

I'll pick up the manga after this is done to see the "real" ending or whatever.

I haven't read the manga yet, but im hoping that that this ends as a alternate
bad ending. Like Akame gets killed by esdeath and revolution is screwed.
. This isn't actually a spoiler since I know nothing, but I felt like I should spoiler text it anyways for some reason.

So I gave up on the anime after it went into filler nightmare land, reading the episode summaries made me ROFL the only thing I will say is that the ending of the most recent episode
Tatsumi dying
is something I expect to see happen in the manga and the final battle being
Akame vs Esdeath
wouldn't surprise me if that was the finale of the manga.
