I've owned every main Asscreed and absolutely loved Black Flag in all of it's 1080p glory on PS4. After this latest patch this game not being native res is the only thing holding me back. It annoys me greatly that they didn't patch out the resolution parity.

Edward wasn't even an Assassin until the game ended, I'd say Arno is on par with Ezio.
And so far the story way better then AC4, well to be honest Mario Bros has more of a story then AC4.

Haven't played it since the first patch and I can tell you now it definitely feels improved frame rate wise. There are still a few hiccups but totally acceptable. There doesn't seem to be any downgrade either. The fact I haven't played it in so long has probably made the effect of the patch more prominent than for people have been playing it a lot. I literally shelved the goddamn thing until they fixed it.

Okay, thanx. Thank you for all your honest responses. As i see it now, don't think i should buy it. And that's a shame. I'm european and i thought AC2 was really good, but this AC:U is not what i hoped it would be. I had high hopes.

I agree with this. Ezio was the best. Arno so far to me seems pretty damn bland.
I didn't play AC4, sorry.
I don't really care about pirates or the Caribbean as a setting, so I skipped it. This one doesn't have any instant fails though.

yeah it's so dumb. i'm guessing upping the resolution to 1080p on PS4 would make it run a bit too smooth (because PS4 is more used to 1080p, it's what it was designed for by Cerny and Shuhei), so the disparity would be too big... MS ruining gaming once again.
Edward is by far the worst protagonist in the series. Up until the last 30 mins where they shoehorn some character development, it's nothing but "I got to find the observatory" which is pretty much the extent of the story in ACIV. I was worried Arno was going to be nothing more than a french Ezio, but he's grown on me and feels like his own character.

Because Arno is all about his personal revenge and his love story with Elise, he doesn't care at all about the assassins council
he ends up choosing targets by himself, he kills Lafreniere because he was tricked by the templars into believing he was the one who betrayed De la Serre. And eventually he gets banished from the assassins gild
So you're still free not to like the character but your reasons are just not valid.
I finished it. I wouldnt compare Arno with Ezio. The second one was just fantastic. Charisma, all the ladies were in love with him, the way he spoke, his tragedy when he was still young and later a real man in brotherhood. Full pro Assassin IMO.

Just had a very quick blast post-patch. It does indeed seem to run significantly smoother, although the area in front of Notre Dame is nowhere near 30fps.
The patch is a bit too late for me now. My game completion is at 85% after approximately 50 hours of playing and a couple of headaches.
I regret buying this game day one now, should've got it for Christmas instead. I won't make the same mistake with AC Victory.

Framerate definitely feels smoother, and Paris and its interiors are still gorgeous as ever so I can't say I notice a downgrade.
Been free roaming for about an hour now
EDIT: just switched to the 'Afternoon' lighting preset, and is it just me or does it look better? Before it was a harsh bright burning white which was especially noticeable on the rooftops, and now it's slightly more natural looking

Erm, isn't the size of the actual game the same on both consoles? If so, why would it matter if someone's on a PS4 or Xbox One?

He has defied the council twice already in my play, and is more charismatic then Ezio,(Ezio was mainly cocky)
I'd say the only main difference is Ezio didn't really have anyone to answer to and was a bit of a playboy, while Arno has the council to answer to and loves Elise.
I think this is more to do with idolising Ezio character more then him being a better character,you even said Arno thinks there's one pussy in the world, why does that matter?people write off Connor for the same reason when he wasn't any different to Ezio as a mature man in Rev .
Young Ezio was a bit of dick, but I think that what people liked, yeah his a cool assassin that does what he wants and gets the ladies.
But yeah, I respect your opinion too, but I think they're the same, Arno kinda reminds me of PoP with his remarks and that's where the added character comes from over Ezio imo
