Mother of God @ Tomodachi. Resounding success in Europe.

Yes, Nintendo is great for that, they are basically the only ones in France who share their numbers.
Few years ago, I got an interview with Lavoué, at one moment he ask me to wait a few minutes to get his computer, opened his GFK doc, and gave me every numbers I asked.

I always wondered if this is specific to Nintendo France or if it's just that journalists from other european countries never really asked some numbers.
Yeah I noticed this too, that's very cool of them. :)

Thanks lascar!

"Hard to say for now. The first place of year-end sales should return to PlayStation 4, there is no debate.
It will examine the early 2015 figures to see who wins the second best-selling home console during the Christmas period between the Wii U and Xbox One."

So, to me this sounds like Xbox One and Wii U are very close for this year, because he still doesn't know which of these systems is going to get the second place.

Wii U sold 200.000 units so far this year, so Xbox One should've sold around that mark too.

We also know that it sold 126.000 units in 2013, so 200.000 + 126.000 = 326.000

300.000 - 326.000 should be the range therefore.

Edit:
Ok wait, he's talking about the christmas period, not the whole year. ^^

Ok, so this number is just a wild guess for the XBO then, don't use it.

Don't know if anyone has seen the subtle change in bundles this week but here is game's PS4 offering:

Offer 1

Offer 2

Which are both 4 games for £349.99. MS are going with a similar 4 game package but
only when you get the AC Unity bundle, otherwise it's three games.

Seems a little more closely matched in value than over previous weeks.

(N.B. Only comparing Game bundles, not best value in the marketplace of course)

Seems like Sony want Europe money(ike they want to have monopoly in next gen in europe) more than NA looking at their deals (sales) here compared to NA where they did not care at all very much except BF so far.

Sony thinks they could run out of PS4 supplies in Europe next week.

(Reuters) - The head of Sony Computer Entertainment, the Japanese electronic group's video gaming division, said holiday sales of its PlayStation 4 gaming console in Europe were so strong that it was fighting to keep up with demand.

"If I look at Europe I think it is potentially, for the second year running, going to be quite inventory challenged," Sony Computer Entertainment CEO Andrew House told Reuters on Friday.

He did not give specific numbers, and said the company was doing its best to bolster production and logistics to deal with the strong demand.

"I'm not going to say you won't be able to find a PlayStation 4," he said. "I think it's going to be kind of hand to mouth in terms of that market."

House said December sales in the United States had been in line with the company's earlier expectations, but conditions had been "tougher" in the previous month due to aggressive pricing by its competition.

Rival Microsoft offered big discounts in the U.S. market for its XBox One consoles in November.

The Japanese market was "challenged," he said, as more consumers were playing games on their mobile phones rather than on videogame consoles.

The PlayStation 4, launched in the United States and Europe in November last year, sold over 13 million units globally as of September, making it the fastest selling PlayStation model since the console's launch in 1994.

As in 69k PS3+PS4+360+XB1+Wii+WiiU?

2013 YTD was 21k by the way.
Don't know, news only states "consoles".

Going by the revenue the average price for all these consoles is 260,87€

Since PS4/XBO/WiiU are more expensive than that it probably includes old consoles too. Maybe even handhelds lol.

Should be then, yeah. Which would put the PS4 at ~30% of the Jan-Aug 2014 console market share over there.

CoD Christmas #1, congrats to anyone who got that at 6/1 last week :)

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is the UK's Christmas 2014 number one.

Activision's aggressive price promotion on PlayStation 4 sparked a 33 per cent rise in sales last week, fending off stiff competition from rival publisher EA's FIFA 15, which saw an eight per cent rise in sales.

Chart-Track called it revenge for Activision, whose Call of Duty: Ghosts lost out on last year's Christmas number one to EA's FIFA 14, which benefited from a price promotion of its own.

It's all big hitters in the top 10. Grand Theft Auto 5 is third with a 16 per cent rise in sales. The PS4 version was the top-selling game for an individual format, so Rockstar can claim a moral victory.

Ubisoft's sandbox shooter Far Cry 4 is fourth with a 17 per cent rise in sales. It's the publisher's top-selling game over the Christmas week despite a whopping 97 per cent rise in sales of Assassin's Creed: Unity, which rose from 10th to fifth. A "huge" price promotion on open world racer The Crew saw that game speed up from 11th to sixth place off the back of a 92 per cent rise in sales. But it's worth noting that the average selling price of the PS4 version of The Crew was down around £15 from the previous week.

Bungie's online FPS Destiny climbs two places to seventh with a 32 per cent rise in sales, while Minecraft Xbox Edition is eighth, with Minecraft PlayStation Edition ninth. LEGO Batman 3 Beyond Gotham rounds out the top 10.

‘Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare’ (+33%) becomes the 5th Call of Duty game to claim the coveted Christmas No1 with a well-timed promotion on the PS4 version helping it leapfrog ‘FIFA 15’ (+8%).

Last year ‘FIFA 14’ pulled off a similar trick, sneaking ahead of ‘Call of Duty: Ghosts’at the last minute to claim the festive top spot and it appears that Activision Blizzard were set on exacting revenge in 2014. ‘Grand Theft Auto V’ (+16%) holds on to No3 while the PS4 version remains the top selling game for an individual format this week.

‘Far Cry 4’ (+17%) is also a non-mover at No4, meaning it is Ubisoft’s top selling game over the festive week, despite a 97% surge in sales of ‘Assassin’s Creed: Unity’ pushing it up from No10 to No5 as well as a huge price promotion on Ubisoft’s ‘The Crew’ boosting sales by 92% and propelling it from No11 to No6. The average selling price of the PS4 version of ‘The Crew’ is down around £15 from last week. ‘Destiny’ (+32%) climbs two places to No7, while the Xbox version of Minecraft (+14%) remains ahead of the Playstation edition (+10%), both down one place to No’s 8 and 9 respectively. ‘Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham’ (-11%) slips 5 places to No10 to round off the Christmas Top 10.

XBone bundle sales must be through the roof.

Well it was heavily bundled with the XONE.

That one hell of a rise in sales, what exactly happened last week?

The UK got the AC bundle far later than in the states. I only really started seeing it pop up in deals 2 weeks ago.

Edit: Turns out I was wrong. Guess it can be put down to the AC bundle going for 289 some places. That said, I don't think that particular SKU is anywhere near as popular here as it is overseas because of all the crazy bundles we have had all month.

PS4 version of AC shot up too so it's not simply due to the XBone bundle alone. Either retailers had reduced the price or it had some interest due to the patch where people held off. Or both.

Ok, still no Dragon Age, so it's not just a stock issue.

On the one hand, that's that series dead, and in assuming that means Bioware won't be making any good games from now in.

On the other hand, my having to hold off buying it due to the number of games I've bought recently means it should hopefully get it's price slashed faster and deeper than I expected

In US it didn't do bad but in EU it seems like it underperformed hard. Wonder why that.
