I'm pretty sure Daisy was pushed to the side before Rosalina ever came along. I mean, she got one mainline game on the Gameboy, and then it was straight to the spin-offs.

Rosalina was in a lot more smash trailers than Peach.
Rosalina is on nintendos reward wallpapers and peach isn't.
Rosalina in Smash, Mario Kart and Mario Party now.

I really do expect a game starring Rosalina at some point. Whether that's Mario Galaxy 3 or not I'm not sure.

Basically the fact that Rosalina didn't get the same treatment.
She got a playable appearance in a mainline game and a spot on the smash roster.
Not saying she needed to but with that much love was hoping they would give some to daisy as well.

Well, I think it really just boils down to how each one was introduce. Daisy for example, was introduce in what is for all intents and purposes, a very weird Mario game, and her role is literally the same as Peach in SMB, and in the game in which she does appear in-game she doesn't even look all that different, so it's kinda hard to throw her into a Mario game when there's already a more popular princess who can easily take that role. Now compare this to Rosalina, which appeared in a mainline game, with a unique role, and a appearance/graphical capability to show said difference that easily sets her apart from Peach, so it's kinda obvious as to why Rosie would appear more predominantly than Dasiy. To be fair though, Daisy has appeared in like every single spin-off so, it's not like she's totally ignored.
