Gametrailers Top 10 Most Anticipated 2015 Games

I heard about Overwatch, but don't really see the appeal. There seem to be a number of decent Team Fortress like games, at least Splatoon really shakes things up. Then again I mentally categorize Blizzard in with Valve as once greats that seem more interested in monetization schemes than interesting game development, so I'm really not the target audience.

Solid list all in all though. It's interesting how The Witcher 3 has no hype left for me.

I'm a big Zelda fan and I've enjoyed almost every mainline entry in the series, but even I don't think they've shown anything particularly impressive myself (No items, no music, no dungeons, no level mechanics/puzzles, no bosses, etc.); this is mainly because I'm not a huge fan of running across large empty stretches of scenery, and I would rather see EAD refine/evolve the dungeon-like overworld from Skyward Sword.
Seeing as Skyward Sword is generally considered the only weak game in the mainline series stretching back to Zelda 2, and this proves to move as far away from that as possible, it's not that hard to imagine why everyone else is excited.

Not really, you're projecting quite a bit.
Sorry to tell you (or anyone else who dislikes the game) this, but Skyward Sword is a critically acclaimed game that a lot of enthusiast fans and casual fans really love.
It's has it's hatedom, but so what? Every Zelda game has critics (even OoT), and negativity always stands out in a sea of positivity
This becomes even more apparent in enthusiast circles which can often become echo chambers.

I'm really curious to see EAD themselves tackle an open world, specifically because some of the things they've talked about are pretty brilliant like the horse auto avoiding trees. Because if there's anyone who can solve a bunch of problems I have with open world games it's those guys.

Once again, Zelda Wii U is on a list just one spot above Bloodborne.

What is up with these two?

Naughty Gods > From Software. Not to mention that TLoU, one of the most acclaimed and celebrated games of last gen, is still fresh in everyone's mind.

And The Order is looking ace. Its placing would've been a notch higher or two if that recent trailer came out before the voting process.

From Software created the best game of last generation with Dark Souls, so we disagree there (although ND it's a great developer) and the Dark Souls train never really stopped for most of the Souls fans, even though Dark 2 was a bit underwhelming (but so was Uncharted 3).

The Order looks mediocre as fuck, aside from pretty graphics and a decent setting (though Bloodborne seems to be putting a more interesting twist on that, too) there's isn't much they've shown, even in the latest trailer, that looks out of the (very) ordinary.
And you'll get the pretty graphics this year already, with Uncharted 4. ;)

Still, arguing about subjective lists isn't that constructive.
Just disagreeing with GAF's choices.

Hmm no original WW is at 96 and SS at 93. That last mark is still stupid high admittedly.

Funny thing is...
If we look at the Metacritic user reviews for SS and WW they both have a large amount of incredibly positive feedback that completely trumps the number of mixed and negative user reviews combined, just like the critic feedback.

These games all have their vocal minority critics and hatedoms, and the complaints (no matter how well thought out) of those groups often sound louder in the echo chamber that happens to be an enthusiast space. But at the end of the day, both Skyward Sword and Wind Waker are incredibly well-received games.

Edit: I think a lot of people would have just been happy to see an HD Zelda game regardless of whether or not it was Open World or linear/dungeon-like.

I'm mostly impressed that the list is 50% Japanese made for once. That probably hasn't happened in a while, right?

Either way three of the four games I'm looking forward to post are on that list, and Monster Hunter 4U is the missing one. Not bad.

Nothing that From made is riding the same wave of adoration that TLoU is right now, and that was a game restricted to a single platform for a whole year. ND are on peak form, and after the PSX showing in December, I don't see how it's a surprise to anyone that Uncharted 4 came out on top in the NeoGAF poll, whether they like it or not.

As for The Order, why would I limit myself to playing one cinematic third-person shooter this year? Especially when one is coming out near the beginning of 2014 and the other, I assume for now, is coming out towards the end. And I don't think there's anything particularly ordinary about the game. Thus far, there's been a real dearth of linear cover shooters released this gen, and given the setting, the premise and the weapon selection, I think The Order is actually quite a breath of fresh air in these open-world obsessed times.

Bioware created the best game last Gen with Mass Effect 2 but I don't see them on the list

Agreed on The Order, while the last trailer looked fantastic compared to footage shown previously, on its own meh

Persona 5

Bloodborne
3.
I don't even care, give me the above two and you can have the rest.

I still think The Witcher 3 is going to be a disaster somehow. Let's hope it won't be.

This. You can find a lot of hate for anything, really. I thought Skyward Sword was one of the best, if not the best installment. But everyone has their favorites. The reason why this game is on the top of their most anticipated list is because it's easy to assume that it'll be great based on the series' track record, and as far as I'm concerned it's the first legitimate "open" Zelda game. The 3D Zelda games so far have had these inter-connected areas that branch off the hub area, and even in Ocarina of Time it was just a big circle without much to do in it except use it to get to the more interesting branch-off points. Yet people will downright terrorize Skyward Sword for having a "barren sky" when the main attraction, Skyloft, is incredibly dense with lots to do and find, and just like in the other 3D games, you mainly use the sky to get to the main points of interest (Eldin Volcano, the desert, etc.).

The new one seems to have a more cohesive world where there's not necessarily just a larger open space that is primarily used to reach more interesting areas, and I find that exciting, though I didn't have a problem with the approach taken in the others.

By their logic of "if all these games were offered to us in their finished state, which one would we play first", I'm surprised Uncharted 4 is 10.

Switch #5 with #1 and i agree.

The list is as I expected but sadly so few titles interest me.

Well, it's not a bad list. Those are all promising games, hardly standard AAA fare with games like Xenoblade, Persona and Bloodborne.

And after reading the Edge article I'm pretty confident that Uncharted 4 is gonna be tremendous, it sounds wonderfully dynamic and progressieve.

But which games would you like to see then?

Solid list, I was shocked Bloodborne didn't get number 1 though, if you've watched any GT since E3 it's clearly the offices favorite thing ever.

well clearly not...

love all posts where they think a game not on the list or a couple spots different than their own is a travesty or a shame.

Uncharted 4 is my number 1, followed by Arkham Knight and The Phantom Pain. Good list still. People are really waiting for the new Zelda, aren't they?

They've praised and talked about Bloodborne infinitely more times than Zelda tbf.
Could just be a vote they did and the people that aren't so vocal and steer the conversation (or are behind the scenes) anticipate Zelda more.

Dang. 3 Sony exclusives (maybe 4 if No Man's Sky is legit exclusive) and no MS exclusives. I'd swap Quantum Break in there if that's still coming this year.

Some people are just mad because someone is more excited for Zelda Wii U than Uncharted 4. Just to counter all the hate, Uncharted 4 doesn't deserve to be on the list for the same reason people say Zelda shouldn't be so high. Because reasons that's why :p

Well there havent been a whole lot of new Zelda games to talk about. Two remakes, a Dynasty Warrior game, and an original 3DS ame that came out a year ago.

Zelda looks nothing special at all from what they've shown so far, any other name and it wouldn't even be in the Top 10. (

Ask the majority of people what the best game ever is a lot of people will say "Ocarina Of Time." I think people are excited because for the first time Nintendo is trying to offer something different in the series. We all know Zelda is going to be good, but will it be remembered. I guess people are waiting for the equivalent of a "Link To The Past" or "Ocarina of Time." So far Nintendo seems to be saying all the right things. It remains to be seen if they can deliver on these promises.

The last two Zelda games were good games but there was a lot of padding with weaker elements. Zelda games are always good even the ones with the padded boring elements. Some of us gave up on the last couple Zelda games because of the boring fetch quests and tutorials in the beginning of the game. However, at its highs even these games offered moments of sheer brilliance. The Sky Temple in Twilight Princess was brilliant as was the Lanayru Mine Temple in Skyward Sword.

I get why people are down on Nintendo because they keep bringing new entries of established franchises. This time around I hope that Nintendo can surprise us again with a game that challenges the very notion of a Zelda game much like they did with Ocarina Of Time. The technology has advanced far enough to give them the tools to finally top Ocarina of Time.

Although Nintendo hasn't shown much, we do know that they are making huge changes to the series. This is not just Zelda in HD. We don't know that they will succeed in bringing us a next-gen Zelda experience, but the company has done it before with other landmark games that will never be forgotten. That's why I'm excited.
