These look great.
Heh I wonder what the "PC master race" will say since they were so set in saying games like this can never exist on current consoles.

Can someone post a pic from the scene where Galahad is looking down at the city during the end credits. Got batman vibes from that scene.

For all I hear of PC Master Race I don't think I have seen a better looking game.

Exactly. I've yet to see a title, on ANY system, that tops what RAD has accomplished here with The Order. The game is just jaw droppingly beautiful, and the new high water mark is now set.

Is it kind of messed up that I replayed one checkpoint just so I could see
if they really showed some vampire dong

and yes, they did. i won't post my screenshot from it :(

Dayum.. Can't believe they went ahead and tackled scenes like those in real time.

The realtime capabilities of this engine is very suited to games with variable character progression (armor / weapon changes reflected throughout).

These are a few that caught my eye from the 72 caps i took on m first playthrough. Honestly almost every cap looks incredible so it's difficult to pick just 3

Note when you climb down the side of the airship hull that Greys feet deform the fabric of the airship. <3

I absolutely love the air ships in this game.
I wish we still had airships IRL. :(

Graphically, The Order is beyond any game yet made. It's creators deserve more praise than they've been getting.

I wish Sony would add option for making more HQ screenshots. Dark areas of The Order 1886 regulary produce JPEGS that are <100KB. :(

These are truly wonderful. Ready at Dawn are to be congratulated.

Agreed. It's really leagues beyond anything else I've seen. It's even more impressive in motion seeing how the light reacts and bounces realistically in realtime.

So in summary worth it for what price in £? £40? £30?

This thread isn't really for this. It's for screenshots. But to answer your question: It depends. It's more personal preference than anything else. The game is a bit rough around the edges in the gameplay department but I really enjoyed it. I posted a fairly comprehensive lengthy review of the game in the review thread after I finished it. You can check it out here if you want.

There is really no game that even comes close to it in terms of graphical presentation. If that sounds good to you I'd recommend picking it up to support the devs since they are likely to lose some sales thanks to the very negative reviews on the game.

Ok, a PC gamer here.. I must say the game looks fantastic.. but, the textures aren't anything special - they are great, but some of them are flat or not so detailed.. what I like the most is the lighting - that is beautiful.. and I'm a sucker for all the Victorian era style clothing, atmosphere, buildings, etc.. but Ryse or AC Unity (PC versions on max) can look in some parts better than Order.. and the black borders help Order to maintain framerate to be stable
Anyway, I'm really impressed with the graphics and atmosphere of this game

Really great shots!

This thread is selling the game better than any advertisement. Can't wait to play the game in a few weeks, when I have time.

The textures appeared to be uniformly excellent to me and I spent an inordinate amount of time pouring over every single inch of the game world. Can you clarify where you are seeing low quality textures cause I'm not seeing that at all.

While to some Ryse and Unity might lok better running on a powerful pc with downsampling or 4k resolution etc etc to me those games still look gamey. They are unquestionably pretty games but edges are pronounced and sharp. Far too crisp. As such they give the immediate appearance of being rendered and thus artificial. Nothing in those games makes me think "oh my god that looks real." Whereas, in some parts, the order could be easily mistaken for film. This is especially true in the object examination screens. The lighting and softness of the image just separates it from everything else on the market imho.

It's not the texture here. It's the terrible AF. I don't know even if it's there I mean:

It's really horrible to see. A pity, a real pity.

So this is the second Order related thread that you have showed up in quoting other people's screencaps to bitch about PS4 not having AF when we know for a fact that the Order DOES have AF.

Ok, there is really something wrong with the ps4 hardware and the AF, if a game with this marvelous graphic show such things.

In textures, sure. But in overall modeling quality I think the Order best those games. Unity obviously has massive scale, but they had to make comprimises in geometry because of that. I would say the best scenes in the Order looked better than any thing from both. Order and Ryse are fairly comparable, and overall I would say that the Order is clearly more impressive. In comparison with Unity...it is a bit like AC1 vs Gears or Uncharted. That kind of difference.

dofry

That's "Dr." dofry to you.
It's really hard to find any inconsistencies in The Order as the attention to details is so amazing. It tries its best to keep the illusion of Victorian era as constant as possible.

I can point out a few instances where an animation or something else breaks the illusion.

- Tesla walking into his lab has a weird turn to the right. He doesn't make a shorter route and follows a weird 90 degree turn path
- Galahad coming out of the sewer has a weird tecture + DoF blur.

Otherwise everything seems to react how you'd expect them to react.

I do not have any screenshots from the game as I'm not that kind of a guy, but if there is a photo mode, I'll definitely try it. Are there plans for one?

Yes. Shinobi said they are working on one to be released at some indeterminate time following the release of the game. I can't wait. I'm already screencapping the hell out of the game it will be that much more impressive once we get the full camera control a photo mode should offer.
