This is nuts. The last opposition-type figure to be murdered in Moscow was Paul Khlebnikov in 2004. Smacks of Chechnya & '90s gangland stuff

@maxseddon sorry, Politkovskaya in 2006, obviously
From Russia-watchers

Obviously a false flag operation to implicate Putin, amirite?

EDIT: I'm actually watching House of Cards right now. My God, could you imagine what a HoC set in Russia would be like?

Looks like Putin is going deep in to the playbook...
This is happening for years. It just was less obvious in recent times. Look at the video I posted, it's a piece of german satire from 2009 about the killings of Putins political opponents. It's not a new thing.

I could of swore there was a translated version of that. But I can't find it.

I'd think a murder in the streets is too on the nose for Putin's regime to be behind it.

Extremist supporters of him? Absolutely plausible.

It was literally right outside the Kremlin, someone in the Government approved this. Its highly unlikely just some random thugs pull up and kill the former deputy PM under Yeltsin

Nemtsov is murdered 2 days before an opposition rally in Moscow.
Right outside Kremlin.
If that's not last warning call, I don't what is

Probably just a robbery gone wrong. Nothing to see here, ladies and gentlemen.

This. It makes no sense to kill him in front of hundreds people and near the Kremlin. There are better places to kill someone like him.

If you are into symbolism, he was shot close to the Kremlin and on Feb 27th, the 1st anniversary of the Crimean parliament being stormed by Russian special forces, which Putin earlier today marked as a national holiday from now on : "Special Forces Day".

Nemtsov was the most prominent politician that spoke out critically about the Crimea annexation.

I don't think there is a need for a translation. The pictures and names are speaking for itself. You would need the context of these people anyways.

Yeah... you should look into the killings, jailing and denunciation of Journalists and political enemies in russia. There are a lot of accidentally killed people. Including one who was poisoned with radioactive material.

Two cannibals are eating a clown. One turns to the other and says "does something taste funny to you?"
Is my impression of Russia as a gigantic country run by the mob incorrect?

meh, the Kremlin poisoned a critic in the UK with polonium and left a trail of radiation across London. The guy carrying the stuff got made the equivalent of a Senator as a reward.

The comments section of the RT article is worth reading, simply for the blatant anti semiticism (he was Jewish) and claims he was a CIA/State Dept agent.
