Uncharted 4 delayed to Spring 2016

Well, I think this will be better choice for them. Even though the game looks good, I don't it would have the chance to stand against so many great games that will be out this year. U4 could have been buried under the GOTY winners AKA Arkham Knight, Phantom Pain, Bloodborne, etc.
Don't GOTY winners typically release around the end of the year? They have more hype then.

this is awful news.

i'm a huge fan of the franchise, but my hype has been seriously deflated. and at this point, I won't be the least bit of surprised if "Spring 2016" becomes "Fall 2016", because clearly the game will will always be able to use more dev time, but moreso that they might actually be considered in GOTY awards.

and now the question becomes.... why? i refuse to believe Amy Hennig and Justin Richmond's work on U4 was that uncharacteristically bad that they had to scorch earth and do a major rework of the game due to quality control. it seems much more likely it was done out of ego and spite. like, this is now Druckmann and Straley's baby, and they want to own it completely. And sure, it will be great, but really... I can't shake the feeling of selfishness and pettiness winning out over shipping the game on time as it was intended. Wellp, you guys better make it worth it to the fans. Damn worth it. Expectations will be so high on this game.

There's a whole lot of baseless assumptions in this post.

:Snicker: You mean it's better for those games to have a chance to duke it out instead of getting buried by UC4.

LoseFonda.

I can't believe people can get this upset about a game coming out at some time in the future. You can wish your life away, if you aren't careful.

Ambitious games get delayed.
Look at all the games announced that have had significant delays.

Don't worry, I'll vouch for them.

Yeah man, The Last of Us was absolutely buried beneath GTA V and Bioshock Infinite!

Are any of you genuinely surprised? Like really? For this game to make it this year would have been a miracle. Better for them to announce it now then in October.

There's a lot to be considered here.

Firstly, June isn't Spring, it's Summer. So it's already closer to the end of the year.

Secondly, The Last of Us was a truly exceptional new IP that arrived on the cusp of next gen, not the 4th installment in a soon to be 9 year old series.

Ultimately I don't think the GOTY consideration by itself has a ton of merit... but more end of year recognition + more development time? I don't see why they wouldn't.

You're only slightly overreacting here.

I really, really wanted to play it this year, but if it is a better game with a delay, im fine with that.

My hype is at an all time high for MGSV and Arkham Knight, so I think this will still be a great year.

Why would it have been a miracle? It would have had more dev time than prior Uncharted games even without the delay, and considering they announced it as a 2015 title, and have had to delay a game before, I don't see any reason why people would doubt that.

I was thinking of getting a PS4 for Uncharted 4 but I'm not mad at the delay.

I'm sure they're gonna replace it with something else come the holidays.

An Uncharted 4 and a Slim PS4 would be a killer combination for sales in Q2 2016.

You think Sony and ND are happy missing the holiday shopping season? You can't be serious with this stuff. This isn't how companies work man

Mass Effect 2 was released in January of 2010.

No one forgot that shit come GOTY time... the best game is the best game. Take off your tin foil hat.

But it's all too convenient to say it's a delay of ambition and turn a blind eye to the development issues this game has clearly gone through. U4 has been in development a long time. Not FFXIII long mind you, but by the time it releases, it'll be hard to shake that feeling of, "okay, wait a sec... when did they announce this... how long have they been showing this... and it's just now coming out?"

I think we can all agree, as it's painfully obvious now, that they announced U4 far too early.

Lol people forgetting about Amy Hennig, Justin Richmond, and Nate Wells leaving?

Remember Todd Stashwick?

It would've been a miracle.

You do realize that the game didn't hit full development until Left Behind was finished right? Putting the full team on it February of last year. If it comes out in 2016 it will have 3 year dev cycle. With 6-8 months of that being pre-production.

Your overthinking this a lot.

What? No, why would they be happy missing holiday? I'm the one saying U4 might very well be delayed to Q4 2016. There's a host of benefits to it.

I don't see what the big deal is. If they need more time, they need more time. I'd rather they released a finished game than rush to make some arbitrary deadline.

yeah I am all for this, hopefully the game will become even better looking, something like the first reveal but I guess I am expecting to much

Really needed my Nathan Drake fix this year seeing as UC3 was nearly 4 years ago so I'm disappointed. I've watched the PSX demo about 30 times!

But I trust ND implicitly, their track record is immaculate in my eyes from PS3 days and if they need more time so be it. Saul Goodman.

Overthinking or just thinking? You and I both know Left Behind wasn't staffed by the full team. How can you gloss over the obvious dev issues and say it's been business as usual?

2 of my most anticipated games are releasing Spring 2016. Street Fighter V and Uncharted 4. Those are my top 2 most anticipated PS4 games, it would have been nice to have the 2 spread out.

You are entitled to your opinion and all. BUT, nobody even knows why she left.

Could be a number of things why its delayed. I mean, they are using new tech and all lol.

Your post sounds pretty selfish dude.

I never understand this. You yourself can spread them out by just not buying them day of release.

That sucks, ps4 still got some heavy hitters this year though.

I also believe that Zelda will release this year. I'm hoping they're not rushing the release though.

The funny thing is by that time, I'll probably be playing on third playthrough on TLoU and playing some multiplayer again because the game is that good. I have so much on my backlog and so busy with work during certain times of the year that delays aren't really a big deal for me. I don't know how people have all this time on their hands to quickly play through all these games.

Currently loving the Portal 2 campaign right now

I already do that with most games. I don't ever buy games day 1. I'm interested in Arkham Knight, MKX, MGSV and The Witchter 3 but I'm not buying none of those day 1 due to backlog and being a cheap ass gamer. However there are only 3 IPs that I am a huge fan of that I will always buy day 1. Those are Street Fighter, Uncharted, and Suikoden. Suikoden is a dead IP but the other 2 are not. I also wouldn't wanna be late to the party with the online communities for those games as I like online Multiplayer for both Street Fighter and Uncharted.
