Seems a bit early if they were only starting major recruiting less than a year ago. Unless this really is a new era for SE's production schedules. Or this is back to the old era of announcing games at least 3 years before they come out.

It depends on the scale of the game. If it's meant to be a smaller scale digital title, it could be out by the end of this year. If it's something more substantial, then it could be announced this year and released next year. A two year dev cycle for a full console game which is well staffed and well managed would be normal. Of course we're talking about Square Enix here, so who knows.

The wording of his statement is that there will be news about the mystery game in 2015, not that it will be released in 2015 fiscal year.
