Crysis 2 ps4

Saw a guy stream Yoshi's Island yesterday on PlayStation Live. Guess he did it with playroom because the frame of his CRT was visible ergo this doesn't have to mean anything.

I'm not too familiar with PS4 streaming but wouldn't the listing come up as "Playroom" then instead of "Crysis 2". Is that text entry something the user can set?

No, Playroom is different and unrelated to Playstation Now.

I suppose I should have specified I meant live streaming from a PS4 not PSNow. On XB1 the title of the game being played isn't something the streamer can change, was wondering if it was the same case of PS4 or not.

Nope, you can stream PS Now games. Long ago, when the service first started, some guy was streaming Just Cause 2.

Are you sure about that? PS Now now runs the PS3 OS while you use it so the share button wouldn't actually use the PS4 commands like you were playing a PS4 game. It would revert back to the select button like you were using a DS3. I could be wrong though but, I'm pretty sure you can't stream PS Now games. Crysis 2 isn't even a PS Now game so this is all weird.

I'd buy the shit out of a proper Crysis remaster, especially if it included Warhead. I love the original game (played on PS3), thought 2 was merely okay and I never played the third. I'd definitely be on board for current gen versions; even better if they're digital releases and I can buy them separately.

Hopefully Crytek sold the brand to another dev or publisher when they were trying to make some money.

Crysis 3 was actually quite fun, better than two at least. The bow was awesome. All too easy though except that vehicle section, that was like instant death valley in a buggy.

2 and 3 were good games but the series could've been so much more if they stuck to the sandboxy crysis 1 design and refined it.

Wouldn't mind getting the first game on it's own but I the other two were pretty bland so I'd really rather not have to pay for those to play the first game.

I'd buy a remastered Crysis 1 in the new Cryengine, but for PC. Not playing the game again at 30 FPS and with a gamepad.

Well hopefully they update the graphics because it'd be kinda cruddy to get the same Crysis 2 4 years later. Even as it was though, it might run at 30 FPS max settings.

I really enjoyed Crysis 2..but I have played it on my 360 and PC. If they want me to buy it again it needs to be all 3 games for a decent price or priced in the 19.99 range. Also, they better remove that insane MP trophies from the second game. Completely unnecessary....

I like to dream too.
Realistically, it all depends on what settings / cvars they decide to use

Even with reduced settings running Crysis 3 SP on current consoles in 60hz would be impossible, because of CPUs.
Crysis 2 and 1 shouldnt be a problem though.

Crysis 2 was a fine shooter but not really something that you would have to go back to.

Onward and upward.

Would consider buying Crysis 1 on it's own for a reasonably priced download. No thanks to 2 and 3

This. Crysis 1 is an incredible game, 2 and 3 are ok but nothing as good as the first Crysis.

I had an incredible time with Crysis 1, it opened all kind of possibilities in how to approach each situation and made feel like a predator/ninja on a mission, so good !

Is there a way to look at this guy's PSN profile online? Has anyone tried that yet to see if things add up? This should be in his "recently played" games list.

Edit: Just looked on my PS4, his recent activity is "Cannot Load". Zero trophies. Profile is not public.

It is a mystery.

"hello?" "this is vagina"
AI bugs aside, I really enjoyed Crysis 2. Sensational weapon feedback and well designed levels. It's a different beast from the first but I find it to be more even in quality.

Warhead's the best Crysis so hopefully that's included if this is an indication of a port.

Just to chime in on all the "Which Crysis was the most fun?"-talk. It's the one that is always forgotten.

Warhead.

EDIT: Beaten. I like you Blackthorn.

Never tried the Crysis games before, but I think I'll buy a remastered trilogy if it runs at 1080/30 on PS4 at max settings (or at least close to max for Crysis 3). Can't comment on gameplay but the visuals are amazing.

Every Crysis game is good, but each sequel moved away from the glorious open nature of Crysis 1 [which also had the most coherent story]. They all deserve to be played.

Might consider Crysis 1 if it's 1080p 60fps.

They've ported Crysis 1 to CryEngine 3, which will enable it to be much more optimized than the original DX9/10 version of the game. I fully expect PS4 to be able to achieve 1080p60.

Thanks for your input, man. I think I'll give it a try if a remastered collection is released. But I need to get a PS4 first :p Anyway, I've been in the mood for sandbox games recently and Crysis 1 always seemed interesting to me. Hope Crytek can at least get the first game to 1080/60. POM in all games would be nice as well.

the ps4 would be able to handle full resolution and 60fps but not at truly maxed out settings (hbao, vegetation AA, motion blur, extreme draw distance, etc)

i'm sure it would look nice though

Seriously? Crysis is, like, almost 8 years old now. As long as MSAA is disabled, the PS4 should have no problems running it at 1080/60 maxed out.

Every Crysis game is sandbox in the sense that suit powers give players the ability to engage fights in so many different ways. What was lost after Crysis 1 was "wide linear" approach in which player had the ability to approach objectives in his own way. C2 and C3 were set in destroyed urban environment, and were more linear because of that [there were some freedom, but not as much].

I have 270X [which is a bit stronger than GPU inside PS4], and maxed out C1 [without AA] runs mostly at 60 with drops to ~45 when view covers a lot of environment and in some action scenes. But with CryEngine 3 optimizations, I can see it running at 1080p60 on PS4 [hopefully with better textures].

Yeah, no way PS4 can handle max settings. I remember that I wasn't getting solid 60 on my GTX 580 some 3 or 4 years ago. And ps4 is weaker than tha.

Friend seen this on live from play station, the bloke had been streaming bloodborne last week too. When asked where he got it he ended the stream, up coming hd remaster?.
Why do I see this so often on GAF?

Do you have a piece of straw hanging out of your mouth when you talk like that? lol

It would be pretty awesome if the developers could bring a remastered Crysis Trilogy to the PS4 and Xbox One. I've never had a chance to experience the first installment after all the praise toward its graphical tech and I haven't seen too much of the third part either.

the game scales waaay up on the high end and had a lot of features built in that basically didn't run at all at playable framerates on 2007 hardware. HBAO especially is computationally expensive.

the new engine version supports even more graphical features, and stuff like tessellation can still bring high-end GPUs down much less the midrange AMD cards in the consoles.

who owns the crysis ip? EA or crytek?

who is going to fund Crytek going forward? anyone know?

Crytek does. And no one knows yet, but they claim to have signed a big licensing deal recently.

OT - I want Crysis in the new CryEngine on PC. That's it, really.
